At 6'5" /250lbs I find most reviews for gear are not valid because they are written by reviewers or shorter and lighter. I would classify myself as a hiker and trail jogger. I wear these shoes around the house, to the store, and on daily 1 to 3 mile trips around the lake in varied terrain and conditions including gravel, dirt trails and mixed. They are very light, very comfortable, great traction, and give a feel for what's under your foot. They don't collect mud or gravel in the soles. And for a big person, the cushioning in the soles hold up, which is not the case with some other shoes that have gaps through the cushioning that compress and won't return to their normal shape after three weeks of use.

i would say these are by far the best trail shoes i have ever used. with that being said they have there place to be used i wouldn't recommend using these on and type of trail that's paved or a hard packed trail no need also be very careful if the trail your on has wood these are very slippery on wet wood. very good for mud and soft dirt hill climbing.

Bought this for trail running for Finnish summer/autumn. Great for rock, mud, wet and other more technical. Good thing is that one can trust the grip of the shoe. Works well in all kind of weather but gets better when weather gets worse. Quick lace does not loose even on longer runs. This series is notably lighter than previous and cushion seems to be a bit harder. Still is ok to run even on gravel.

Great shoes, loved them so much I bought 2 pairs! Very stable on all terrain so far. Quick lace system is the best.

I bought this pair about a month ago and they fit nice and snug on my feet, without being too tight. They are very comfortable to wear for all day walking, hiking, running. I bought these to replace my aging pair of SPEEDCROSS 5's which I wore everywhere until the sole wore out down. These feel the same as my old SPEEDCROSS 5's and I expect to be wearing these until they wear out.

I bought my first pair 6 years ago and wore them until there was a hole through the sole. Was very disappointed at first when I found they were out of stock but was notified when they were back in stock.

I'm running my fourth generation of these shoes at this point and I still love them. I usually get a year out of a pair with very active use. Once the treads wear down they make a great approach shoe as well.

Unbelievable shoes, both with ankle deep mud and streams. Perfect when climbing up and walking walking down rock faces and lose rocks A must when doing back country hiking.

Weighs almost nothing while worn. Moulds into your feet. Very comfortable

I bought these specifically for a 15K trail run that was very rocky with a lot of elevation. Unfortunately I was unable to "break in" the shoes, only trying them on the night before the race. No problems whatsoever! They handled terrain without a hiccup! Recommend highly!

This look is at the top of it's class, but the feel is even better. I have 40 pair of shoes and these are the most comfortable have.

Fits true to size, perfect for walking / hiking over hard surfaces.

I've been wearing Solomon's everyday for work and reat pleasure for the last 3 years. I'm a UPS driver so I'm on my feet all day long, great quality, light weight and durable plus they look cool thanks

I bought these to replace a pair of SPEEDCROSS 5 that I wear when hiking on the desert trails in metro Phoenix, Arizona. The trails have a lot of rock and loose gravel, so the soles eventually wear down after about a year. I broke this pair in on a recent vacation to Europe, where they because my daily all-purpose shoe. Very comfortable, the body feels lighter than the SPEEDCROSS 5, but the support is similar. Love the yellow color - admittedly, I picked yellow because it was the cheapest, but I've grown to love the fact they they're not bland black/grey.

I have been buying the Speedcross for 7 or 8 years now and the best thing is that they never tweak or mess up the shoe. If one has a narrow to normal foot the curved last is cradling and firm enough.

I've been wearing speed cross for years now, I find that I can wear them all day without any problems with my feet aching, the speedcross 6 are the lightest I've bought, the colour looks all black it isn't , it's a good mix of black and grey. I would recommend anyone who's on their feet all day to try these I purchased them for my husband.

Love these shoes. Light and comfortable. Bought them mostly to just kick around in. Haven't hiked in them yet but they feel great on my feet. The shoelaces are awesome. You never have to tie or adjust them. Reasonable price. Will definitely buy again

I got these for my boyfriend for the casual hike. I have a pair of the older women's model and love it. I wanted to get him a comfortable but outdoorsy shoe. It's lightweight, has great support, and true to size. The celery green is true to color.

The wide fit is perfect for my feet as regular caused pain

The mud where I live is slick and slimy. This shoe is the best I've ever tried at maintaining grip. The lugs also do a good job of shedding the mud. The shoe supports my ankles on difficult sidehills. You can feel the lugs squirm on pavement - I only mention this because it shows the shoe is meant for other terrain.

great for muddy days on loose terrain, not so good on concrete. Really good also for hiking and definitely on one of the comfiest shoes I've worn
