For starters the sole is way more comfortable than previous generations. That I can say. The stability isn't there like other generations though. There is way too much mush and side to side in the upper. And lastly the colors absolutely do not look like they do online. Just buy black and save yourself the headache.

The Shoe fits great and looks great. My reason for a Three star rating is for the lack of Breathability. An absolute nightmare. I wore these twice for about 8 hours at a time just walking around and standing at work and my feet started sweating almost immediately. I'd like Salomon to make the Same Silhouette and Sole Tech but use breathable mesh. Simply put if you live in a hot climate these aren't the shoe for you

I love Salomon shoes and worn them for years. I am very excited about the new wide widths. Not sure why cold weather shoes (GTX) don't come in Wide though? In fact, we wear thinker socks in winter and so need even more space in winter so the GTX shoes should be the first that come in Wide? Same for the spiked shoes ! Wide GTX shoes please ! Someday; Wide, GTX spiked shoes !
Cheers

I'll start by saying these are a fantastic shoe. Comfortable, lightweight and super grippy. I love these even more than the speedcross 4's I've ran for many years prior.
However. I've now been through 2 pairs of these in the last 12 months.
Both sets have lost the front part of the sole. They are not as durable as I'd of expected from a trail running shoe. I feel previous speedcrosses have lasted longer. I've also found the toe area to loosen off over time leaving a little extra room.
However do not let this put you off, overall a fantastic package for your feet

They are cheaper looking. The older version is much more preferred. The seem longer and more narrow as well

Bought these as an alternative to the new model XA Pro 3D, which I bought to try but returned as I felt it was inferior to the much loved shoe that it replaced.
The Speedcross suffers from the same problem as the new XA Pro: the shoe feels slightly longer and narrower than previous models, judging from the fit on my feet. I had to go up to a 10 to get enough room side to side in the toebox, but the shoes are actually a bit too long then and I need to lace them very tightly to avoid my forefoot slopping.
I've covered nearly 400km in them to date and they are OK, but that's about as far as I would go. I wouldn't buy them again.

Like the look. Good grip. Appears to be of good quality. Order a wide version as their standard size is too narrow. Unfortunately this didn’t become clear until after I walked in it for a while and cannot return shoes now.

I purchased these shoes based on the look and I have 3 other pair of Salmon hiking shoes, but these are not as comfortable as my other ones and I think it is because of the different sole. This sole seems to be harder and less comfortable in my opinion. I wanted to keep them, but they don't feel comfortable on my feet, which is the most important part of buying shoes to me. They do look cool though!

Another reviewer here mentioned the design aesthetics. One aspect of this is that the brand name Salomon is just too prominently displayed on the shoes--like a billboard for the brand on your shoes compared to Speedcross 5 or Speedcross 4. Function is great of course as I would expect since I've owned maybe 40+ Speedcross shoes (4's and 5's) over the years and love them--and right now I have about 10 in my closet--but I am disappointed in the look of the Speedcross 6 and will stock up on the Speedcross 5 as long as they are available. I hope the next version reverts back to a more subtle look as to branding. Also, something to keep in mind is that the sizing seems to me to have gotten progressively bigger from Speedcross 4 to Speedcross 5 and even more so now for Speedcross 6--that of course can be fixed just by going down a size, which I have done from 9.5 to 9.

Love almost everything about these. Light, flexible, protective, awesome grip. However, I'm not sure how long the grip will be awesome, given the rate at which the lugs are wearing down. The center heel lug has started to come apart after maybe 30 miles, and the others don't look too far behind. Maybe this is a defective pair, bud I'm guessing they went with a softer compound for the outsole. Will have to see how this pair plays out, and if necessary, I'll have to begrudgingly find a replacement shoe.

I am a big fan of the Speedcross 5, so I tried the Speedcross 6 with mixed results. It is a very sturdy shoe with good overall foot protection, comfort, traction, and it fits well. However, I dont like the aesthetic, it's not as attractive as the 5. The material is a bit thin and gets dirty very quickly. It also is a bit heavy and clunky. I think I'll stick to the 5 from now on.

Felt like I had cleats on and felt like I was walking like I had roller skates on. Tread is very deep. Not suitable for what I needed. Overall a very well constructed shoe, but somewhat cumbersome with such deep lugs. Not very comfortable for heel and toe pad support.

I've owned a few pair over the years. They don't aggravate my knee issues.....however, the soles wear out incredibly quickly, 3...4 weeks. Then they are slick on surfaces and pose a problem.

Right shoe is fine, the left shoe came out of the box with the toe all curled. The left shoe looks odd, fits poorly and the gluing is also poorly done on the left shoe.
I'd also recommend:

I had my first ran on these shoes. It was great to beginning of the ran, and there was a big BUT Let me start by saying that these shoes are comfortable and the end sole are grippy, and that's about what I like about these shoes. When I got to the gravel part of the trail, I can feel the gravel on my mid foot. Although I managed to get to the top of the trail, on the way down when I felt the discomfort To some up I went home with the Blister on the bottom of my right foot, I guess they call it The Ball of the Foot The discomfort happened in about 3 miles before end of my ran, so pretty much I'm running through the pain

I've been using the Speedcross trail running shoe for many years. I hold it in the highest regard and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it. It's simply the best trail running shoe on the market, although it does favor narrow feet.
The new design is a shocking step backward. In fact, it's ruined the shoe for me. The upper feels like it is made out of thin cloth. There's too much of that material and it bunches up in folds on top of the shoe. Salomon told me they did this to save weight. The shoe does feel lighter but I never felt the original design was too heavy. The new design does not improve upon the old design. In fact. It's not only a step backward it's a misstep altogether. The old adage if it's not broken don't fix it certainly applies here. Very disappointed in this shoe.

I am not sure what happened with these. I had just bought my 3rd pair of them. Something about this new pair is different compared to the others. It just doesn’t fit or feel the same. They look cool and used to fit great. At this point I am going to look for a different pair/brand of shoes.

Soles are super comfortable, but the construction of the shoe is TERRIBLE. Not a durable product for what they market it for.
I have had many, many pairs of this shoe (speedcross 3, 4, & 6). Lifespan is about 2 months before the heal will blow out on you. Not worth your money.

Been getting Salomon footwear since 2019, it can hold up to any shoe and surpass the others in comfort and wear while still looking great. The warranty is one of the best and pretty much hassle free.

I always use Salomon trails shoes since 8 years.
I bought all version of speed cross
And the last one was speed cross 6.
After 2 months of running , part of the rubber sole has worn out very fast compare to speed cross 4 that I kept over 1 year.
The quality has been changed and is too soft.
I am disappointed and I will not buy speed cross any more

I wore these 3 times and the bottoms were falling off of them. They're comfortable but not made well. I wouldn't recommend these if you are looking for durable foot wear.
