No breaking these shoes in necessary! Right out of the box, these speed, cross shoes, provide comfort and durability, on pavement and off. I wore them recently to an outdoor event. I was standing at least five hours and the shoes didn't fail me. I highly recommend.

Loving this shoe. It's my third pair and the only criticism is the soles wear out too fast.

This is my second pair of Salomon shoes. Both pair exceeded my expectations as far as comfort and durability. When I'm wearing them my posture is improved and I experience less back and hip pain.

Great tread! Shoes a beast sneakers on steroids! Definitely worth it! I'm extremely hard on my trail runners! But they can take just about anything you can throw at them!

Been wearing the speedcross and other Solomon shoes for the past several years and have been more than satisfied with the quality and durability. The speedcross 6 is just another upgrade in this type of shoe.

Own multiple pairs - these shoes are amazing. Great support and cushioning with a performance sole that really makes a difference on the trail. Can't say enough good things.

I have had several pairs of these types of shoes and they always feel great and comfortable. Getting harder to find in stores nowadays but no problem online

Perfect shoe for rainy days, looks great with just about anything and love how it hugs your feet!

Second pair I get of this model. I had the 4 and now got the 6 as the rubber sole is now perforated on the old ones in the middle of the heel and the overall grip is gone I do not use has much for trail running (for the type of trails I do I prefer the bounciness of regular jogging shoes). I do use a lot for hiking and as the grip is amazing and I like the support they provide. I like using hiking boots for rougher rocky terrain like in the White Mtns or the Adirondacks but prefer these shoes any other smoother day hikes like Eastern Quebec or the Green Mtns. These shoes perform very well in terms of grip, support, breathability and impermeability. I'd just wish the rubber soles would last longer :) . The other ones lasted 6 or 7 years I'd say, and I use them quite often, so for me its OK.

You will not find a better made shoe that salomon!

Fit well, comfortable, great hiker, all around good shoe. I've have had them for a few months and they haven't fallen apart yet. so far so good.

Very comfortable shoe with amazing traction in muddy (or completely submerged) conditions. I used this shoe for a Spartan Beast (half marathon plus obstacle courses), and it helped me place way better than expected.

I like how they feel, excellent traction and I can even wear them as casual dress shoes sometimes lol.

I use these as my Go to shoes for everyday. They have replaced my old tennis shoes.

I bought these as a present for my husband and they are by far the best walking shoes he has had. Instantly comfortable; he did a 10 mile walk in them on the day he got them. Completely tired the dog out!

I bought this shoe a month ago and have bought two more pairs. Best hiking/trail shoe I have owned. Comfortable durable with great grip and traction.

This is my second speedcross pair, still have the 5's but I love them so much that I wear them all the time, even on asphalt, which will literally eat through them. If you ever rode full cross tires on asphalt, it's about the same, relatively speaking. If Salomon made them with a harder sole I would own the 2 versions.

This shoe has gone well beyond my expectations. Form, fit, comfortable!!!! I actually bought two more. I wore them hiking and running the New River Gorge National Park few weeks back and we're the best trail shoe I experienced. Two thumbs UP.

Best shoe for trail running I have worn. Occasionally am talked into trying another by friends, always go back to these. By far my favorite.

These are amazing shoes for trail running, hiking, and all around adventure shoe.
