It fits well on me and seems to be well done (we will see after a few washing machine cycles). But it is not perfect, it misses a little piece of string or strap at the neck to hang it without damaging the cloth.

Next April, I plan to walk El Camino de Santiago (along the Camino Frances Route). As the clothing I bring will be limited, I needed to choose a single fleece for warmth when needed and to dress up a bit during the evenings while walking around town. I chose Arc'teryx's Covert Cardigan over Pantagonia's Better Sweater (its main competitor) largely for the neater fit. With respect to sizing, please note that I am 6'1", and 195 lbs. For my measurements, the XL was the correct size. The L size was too tight in the arms, and not practical if you want anything thicker underneath it other than a T shirt or a marino wool base layer. The sales representative at the Arc'teryx store also said that some customers said this item may shrink slightly, which further nudged me towards XL. The Covert Cardigan would benefit from a chest pocket large enough to hold a phone. The small arm pocket is impractical, unless the only thing you want to carry is a ski lift ticket or a key. Also, although the cardigan is expensive for a mid-weight fleece, I took the plunge given its various features.

London may have cashmere but around the mountains' scene this cardigan is a must. Warm, durable and chic. It is the new embodiment of outdoors trendy. Pilling may be an issue after long term use which I deplore. However, it is a splendid layer on intense activities or lounging at the hut. Beautiful colours in my opinion and I can't resist to buy every one of them. A classic.

Purchased for my husband to pair with Atom vests and jackets as a warming layer. He wears it alone about half the time, despite being a little heavier than his other Arcteryx fleece. It's a five-star jacket, but loses a star due to limited availability of larger sizes (3xl). Although the navy had sold out, I was able to find and purchase it with another retailer. It seems a consistently missed opportunity, both in additional sales and inclusion.

Got this as a gift a few months ago and have worn it almost every day since. The dark blue version looks smart enough to be worn to the office over a shirt. Sleeves and back are cut slightly longer, which adds to the comfort factor. Warm enough to skip a shell jacket when being active on a mild winter day. Unfortunately the fabric started to show pilling where it's more exposed e.g. seams, armpits, outside of sleeves etc.. This requires manual removal which will contribute to faster wearing down of the material over time. One missing detail that would make this perfect is a two-way zipper. Other brands like Fjallraven offer this across the range and I love it when actively moving e.g. when hiking in the mountains.

It's a very warm and stylish piece. Great for wearing casually. But I would probably not wear it in any outdoor activity due to its heavier weight. For reference, I'm 6 ft and 175 lbs. I got a large which is a bit baggier but is great for wearing casually

I love everything about this jacket except it's really cumbersome to put on when with any number of baselayer materials! It's the nature of the fleece but it causes you to have to hold the cuff of your shirt sleeve and fight to pull the jacket on. That's the only thing stopping it being 5 star!

Bought this about 2 months ago as a lightweight option in and out of the office and on my adventures as a soft layer. In that role, it's good. My only issue so far is the pulling that has occurred around the zipper. I'm not wearing it under any layers very often, but it started fairly quickly. So be aware you might need to take action once a season.

The covert is cozy, and I pretty much wear it all day at home. I really appreciate the inner mesh front that allows for venting/temperature control, especially with the hand pockets open. For my body type, it fits a little loose. This is considered a "regular" fit under Arcteryx, and I'd definitely say it's not form-fitting. The cuffs aren't as tight as I'd like and often cover parts of my hands, unlike my other Arcteryx jackets in the same size. If you're planning to layer under this and you have small/slim build, then it will likely be fine. I'm 5'4"; 122 lbs; got a size small. Probably should've gotten an XS, but that wasn't in stock at the time.

I own a 6 year old version of the pullover in black and I wear it almost everyday in the winter. I haven't used this as a technical piece, but as an everyday sweater for work and a warm mid layer it has served me very well. The fabric has pilled to a certain degree, but it isn't too bad. I didn't realize that the pullover had discontinued when I purchased a 2nd one this summer, also in black, but now I am glad that I did.

Owned one of these for about a year. Fit is a little generous, cut is great and looks good (as always). Unfortunately, mine has pilled up quite badly and needs de-babbling often. A little bulkier than my other mid layers making it just fit under some of my outer layers.

The men's covert cardigan in olive bought a couple years ago was nice and warm, but unfortunately the version I had the fabric pilled up over much of the jacket, and wasn't what I expected. My wife's women's version in black was much better quality and had no such problems. Not sure if they were manufactured at same time or place. Also, women's gender specific pattern looks so much nicer as it's very form fitting. My men's covert crew sweater in black also was perfect and has lasted several years (too bad it's been discontinued, and the closest thing is the covert zip).

Great garment, but the Forage Heather colour is actually green in real life.

I am 6'1" and 190. The large fit me great but the zippers fell off in the washer after maybe 20-30 wears.

I just bought this and was impressed by the style. The only trouble is that it causes my undershirt to bunch up when I put it on. It's a huge pet peve of mine. Sadly, this beautiful jacket is being returned. Shame, it's a beauty.

I've had this fleece about 3/4 months. The cut & feel are excellent but I have to agree with other reviews that the pilling of the material is unacceptable for a top end item. Solve this & it would be a five star review.

I bought this jacket back in September, worn indoors during lockdown. It fits well, very comfortable and warm. Now the bad bit. It pills. A lot. I've not been wearing it with a pack (or even outdoors!), and it has pulled badly in some areas. For the price, this shouldn't happen. I agree with other reviewers that this should be withdrawn from sales until the material issue is sorted. Very disappointed.

Loved Arcyteryx because of the longer sleeves. Owned a Covert Hoody before buying this Covert Cardigan and now there is an inch difference in sleeve length between the two. Has Arcteryx changed their sizing to make their sleeves shorter? This is a size L.

I bought this fleece a few months ago and did not read the reviews before I got it. I washed it inside out and everything seemed to be fine. It is nice enough for a Friday casual at the office, and warm enough for a hike during the fall and being around the campground. The true test came just last week that I had to carry a backpack for a few hours. Sure enough this thing pilled as mentioned in other reviews. It is very noticeable in areas where the backpack or straps were rubbing. The functionality of it has not changed, but now it looks like a cheap fleece you would get anywhere else. That is too bad because this is not the quality you would expect from the brand, I might have to trade it in for some credit at the store next November.

Love the fit and look but it started pilling within the first week that I got it. I had to invest in a de-pilling device which helps but the cardigan now requires regular maintenance for it to look nice. Not practical for regular wear, I would spend your money on something else.

I have a Covert full zip which was from a prior season (2018) as well as one that was recently purchased. I am not able to always get Arcteryx gear and fit in person as many stores do not readily stock what I'm looking for. This was a purchase made online based on measurements and my size. What is unusual about this cardigan is the tight fit of the sleeves and the tight underarm. If I wear the sweater with anything but a thin T shirt, the elbows are far too tight, and the underarms wick moisture occasionally. I'm 6'0", 190 lbs with a 34" arm, and the sleeves cover my knuckles. The body fits okay across the chest, so I would hate to go up a size and have even longer sleeves! Not sure who these sweaters are designed for. On the positive side, the garment is extremely well made. I don't seem to experience the pilling described in posts here, though I'm also not machine washing the sweater. Earlier Covert sweaters were wool blend (yes, very high quality), the new versions are woven synthetic facing with liner. I do see the collar has been redesigned for 2020 to a more cuff-style instead of the older structured panel design. Personally, the new cut looks ordinary and doesn't present as a high end garment. I could compare with other brands, but was advised not to do so. Let's just say it's a disappointment, given the usually high standards from Arcteryx. I appreciate the high quality of the garments, but a bit of attention to the fit and collar for 'normal' people might be something to consider.

The previous similar product I bought (2011) was better made. I appreciated the lycra part at the end of sleeves. This is a good product but frankly speaking neck too tight: it is impossible to close. it fit -3 cm in comparison with the previous. 4 stitches also not so well done. What i mean: it is a little "cheap" figuring product considering your brand positioning and the use which is urban style and so to be used in offices etc.

I just wore my jacket for the first time and it was around 25 degrees. A slite breeze and the air just went through the arms but the torso felt ok. Definitely not ment to be warn alone. Good quality, looks great! I will throw on a shell plus this and see how it keeps me warm.
