I was between the Speedgoat and Mafate Speed, and am happy with the Mafate Speed. I run on mixed surface of gravel and more technical trails, and the grip is perfect for both. I also feel like there is enough cushion for road if needed. I am typically a 9 in running shoes and find Hoka runs a half size big.

Loved these shoes from day one! light, responsive, great traction. But- in less than three months, the shoelace hole at the top tore in half! I am not hard on my shoes at all. I improvised with switching both laces to the laterals, and it's okay. I just hate that I won't be buying this shoe again due to how quickly it wears out. :(

I've been a pavement pounder for most of my life but the mountains started calling a handful of years ago. I've tried various trail shoes and they've done the job & done it well, but none of them had me this excited. I signed up for a few longer races this year that had pretty significant vert gain, so went to researching what was out there & getting some attention, coming across these I took the plunge, never have owning a pair of Hoka's prior. First trip out was a 12 miler with 4500 ft of gain; they pulled me up the mtn, stuck to the trail like glue coming down - like hardly any slip...at all, stable footbed, and the cushion was great on the super boney parts. I have a wide foot, bunions and all, and these fit great. Some had suggested going up a size, but I stayed with my 7.5 and found they have plenty of room. These shoes are aggressive, but light weight. I'm a believer & have told everyone I know to buy them!

I'm starting to enjoy this shoe more each time that I use it, however it was a tough transition from my previous shoes (never had Hokas before). I'm typically a 9.5-10 however had to size down to a 9 in this shoe since it's pretty roomy.

It was my first Homa shoes and I loved it so much but unfortunately I bought the wrong size.I am familiar with Brooks and bought the same size 9 apparently it was 9B and they are way too big.

This is my second pair of hoka. My 1st pair I loved. I wore them so much I wore them out. I tried to order the same pair again but could not find them so I ordered the newer model. I don't even enjoy walking short distance in them. I have tried for months to break them in or get use to them but it has not worked. If any one wants a free pair they can have mine. I'm so disappointed

Bought these for a trip abroad to Scotland and Ireland and absolutely loved them. They had enough traction to support the walks in the nature parks and trails, but also extremely comfortable for walking the streets and taking in the sights. They are also very light for such a supportive shoe which was a huge bonus when trying to keep suitcase under weight limit . Highly recommend these for anyone who likes to hike, trail run, or just wants the extra traction. Do not recommend wearing on the treadmill due to the extra grip. I did this to test them before going outside just in case and they were very "tacky" to the tread. I used the true size recommender tool and ordered a half size smaller than I normally wear and they fit perfectly.

So I will start out by saying that I did not use them specifically for what they were designed for. I took mine out yesterday in 7 inches of glorious new fallen snow in my neighborhood. Now underneath said snow was a very uneven sidewalk and I also ran partially on the street. These shoes rock. I felt very secure running in them. They were extremely light, and my feet stayed dr even with out gtx . The profly+ is great under foot. Very soft and responsive. I also could feel my heal securely seated in the shoe. Loved it. Can't wait to get them I. The environment they were intended for

Shoe feels very comfortable., cushion is great underfoot nice trail shoe, great traction. a little clunky for my taste but still a good trail shoe .

Great and comfortable for hiking. I don't know if I ordered too small a size though cause down hill hiking my pinky toe rubs on it. Probably my socks though.

My first pair of Mafates and I don't like them. The color is cool, but they squeeze the life out of my feet. I didn't have to order wide width in the Challengers, but the Mafates are smaller in the toe box. What I really want is to go back to the 2022 Challenger 7's. My faves by far.

All Hokas make my feet sweat so I returned this item.

It's not cool that all your shoes are different sizes! I've order 4 pairs of hokas in 6.5 but now the new 6.5 is too small?! Come on!
