The show fit is sloppy. There is virtually no arch support. The tongue is very long & comes up high on the ankle area.

I really wanted this shoe to work for me but the wide width shoe was wide in the toe box but not at the widest part of my foot, across the ball of the foot. I wish it worked but was returned and I will keep looking.

I'm not sure how these can be marketed as wide, they are extremely narrow even in the wide width. Needed to return.

I love Hoka Arahi. Not much available in my size so I thought I would try the Mach 5. This is more of a neutral shoe than the Arahi. Not for me. I am a nurse; 12 hour shifts. I need the stability that the Arahi provides. The Mach 5 was to spongy in the heel for me.

I was told these are one of their most popular modals and I fell in love with them the moment I bought them. I was looking for a new shoe to both train with & run my first half marathon in. They are incredibly light weight and comfortable with great connection to the ground, and very stylish with many color options. Unfortunately, they offer little to no arch support. Despite having low arches, and typically no issues here, after about 2 weeks of training my feet were in serious pain. I love Hoka trainers, I usually wear the Kawanas, but I guess these just weren't the right ones for me. If you have or use custom insoles though, these would be great!

These have a sink in feel to the cushion and have a smaller stack height than other Hoka shoes. They aren't bad, just not great for plantar fasciitis. If you just want a comfy pair of trainers, these may do the trick. I did feel they were slightly larger than my normal size, however sizing down was way too small.

They look a bit clunky. I like Cliffton 8 better, both the looks and the feel. I could also use more arch support.

I have been wearing this same shoe in the Mach 4 design for several years and looked forward to each day of wearing them. Whether walking, running, working out, or any other activity, these have been my favorite shoes ever. When I went to purchase replacements, I found only the new Mach 5 available and fully expected I'd love them even more. Sadly, after trying several different sizes, I find they squish my toes and cause discomfort that makes them unwearable. Once a HOKA customer for life, I'm now on the lookout for another shoe actually designed to fit normal feet. Why fix something that's not broken? Highly disappointed!

I was not too fond of the protruding heel collars, but that feature could be a bonus for runners. To me, they make the sneakers look clunky. I am not a runner, though. I prefer Clifton 8 both for the looks and for the comfort.

I wanted to love Hokas. Maybe I picked the wrong style but these are almost flared out at the base of the sole. When I put them on and looked down the base of the shoes where wider then by foot. Felt awkward and made me feel like I was going to trip over my own feet.
Had to return. Not for me.

Was hoping that by going up a size I could make a medium width work. Sigh I could not. :-(

I love the shoe! It's soft, responsive, and great out of the box. However, I cannot handle the tongue. It is flat and thin and extends up too high restricting my ankle. Because of that I had to return them. Sad because I loved them otherwise!

The comfort of the shoe was better in the Mach 4 than the Mach 5. Don't like the change. In the tongue it's too flimsy!!

I have used the product for about a month. It runs big, I feel like my heel sinks in the back. Not a ton of support.

They are comfortable on my heel for plantar fasciitis but they are very narrow and tight. Also the tongue and eyelets are flimsy.
