The Bondi 8 is now narrower than any other version of the Bondi. It no longer is comfortable to wear. Truly disappointed in this version.

I purchased a pair of Hoka Bondi 8 shoes recently at a retail store and was very disappointed in the quality of the shoe. I had a pair of Bondi 7 shoes before and was very happy with them, great support and very cushy with lots of foam throughout. The new Bondi 8 had none of these things. After a half hour on the tread mill my feet were sore everywhere. Not a big fan of this shoe. Don't waste your money.

I have logged 2,937 miles running in several pairs Bondi 5,6 & 7. When 8 came out I was shocked how much it had changed and twice tried it on in stores but opted to try other brands instead. As I entered week 10 training for the NYC marathon I finally bought a pair of 8's thinking they would be great for the long 18-20 mile slow training runs. They're not. The other brands shoes feel as cushioned are both lighter and feel alot quicker even for a 62 year old. Maybe Hoka is more interested in being a trendy brand instead of a serious running shoe. I dunno, but the Bondi ship has sailed.

Well, I couldn't try them on! The shoes were obviously used. It took 24 hours for support to reply to my text. They prolonged the text for more than other day. So far, what they said has my happened: I was to get my refund when the QR was scanned. That hasn't happened. Unacceptable.

I always poke holes in my Hoka's in a very short time where my big toe is. This pair is a much more flimsy material than any I have worn before and the insole is too firm. I have had several surgeries and have arthritis in my feet, so these were not comfortable. I am very disappointed. Why will no one make shoes with more substantial uppers in the toe cap?
I'd also recommend:
I don't know, because I've been wearing Hoka's for @ 9 yrs. But these just are too flimsy!

The wide one does not fit well on my feet it is really wide on the front but the narrow in the middle. I wish I just bought the regular size one.

Hoka recently changed the Bondi 8 Wide to a Narrow/Regular fit. I have 4 pairs of Bondi 8s in Wide, so I could tell immediately when I got another new pair. The shoe is not "Wide" anymore in the arch area. I'm very disappointed. I purchased multiple Bondi 8s in different colorways to make sure of my observation, which sadly was confirmed. The Hoka Bondi line is my daily wear - I'm a Registered Nurse and on my feet for most of my 12-hr shift. Very unhappy that I cannot rely on Bondi sizing to be correct anymore. It may be time to look at Brooks or other Brands that offer Wide sizing.

Second pair of shoes I bought and they did the same as the first. Sole ripped away from the midsole. I'm never buying anything from this company again.

Shoe was average. I paid expedited shipping. The representative on the phone never offered the free expedited shipping. I brought it up later in another call ... and she "credited" my account for the next time. There won't be a next time.

The shoe feels good, have used before but this particular pair has a lip or something that keeps rubbing the same spot on my left shoe, massive blister that keeps getting rubbed whenever I wear them

it seems like this Bondi is made from a harder rubber. This is my third Bondi and this feels harder that my previous ones. it does not have the Hoka feeling i was looking for.

The fabric separated from the sole after two months of light running. Previous versions of this shoe have done the same thing but I keep hoping the next version will have fixed it because they’re comfortable. Not worth it.

Replaced Bondi 7 with these. Wore them for a month before I figured out that the pain in my right ankle/calf was because of these shoes. I’m not sure what kind of structural or arch change they made from Bondi 7 to 8 but it really doesn’t work for my feet/legs/lower body :(

One shoe was comfortable, but the other shoe rubbed against the side of the foot. Had to be a defect.

Wanted to love these. Look great, but once on, they have no perceivable foot cushioning. They are advertised as "Plush" but they feel like a standard, off the shelf insole and are very hard. The Gaviota for comparison also says "plush" and it is exceptionally comfortable and padded and stays that way all day. I am in healthcare and stand for 12+ and the Bondi were awful. Feet hurt within an hour and just got worse. Love the Hoka opportunity to wear and return though. The Gaviota are perfection all day long.

First off, I'm a believer in the Hoka brand. I was looking for a pair of walking shoes and was introduced and initially purchased a pair from a local Fleet Feet store where they do a true measurement of your feet. Size 12.5 wide for me. Fast forward, now I'm a mailman walking 12-15 miles a day and comfortable shoes are a number one must have and the Hoka brand is like walking on a cloud, not only are they the comfortable shoes I've worn on the job (previously bought the Bondi SR and Kaha 2 GTX) but other letter carriers comment on how comfortable the Hoka brand looks. So it was quite a surprise when after only a month of wearing the Bondi 8 a hole formed on the mesh at the big toe on top of the left shoe. Sounds like a sizing problem? No, my feet were professionally measured and I've had no problems with holes forming on any of the other Hoka styles. Let's just say the Bondi 8 is an extremely comfortable shoe probably built for neighborhood walks but not built for the rigors of delivering mail. I sent the shoes back even though it was a couple weeks past my one month trial. My mistake was calling what I do everyday "walking" and if you're walking 12-15 miles a day 5 days a week I'm probably "hiking" at this point. I still believe in the Hoka brand but No more mesh constructed shoes only leather.

These would be great for people with incredibly high arches. If you do not have high arches, then, like me, you will feel like there is a concrete ball beneath the arches of your feet. This feeling doesn't go away with use, doesn't get broken in, and doesn't feel comfortable like a "cushion or cloud". They are incredibly narrow to say the least, and with the concrete arch, massively uncomfortable.

Quality for what you pay is way off. Felt great at first couple of week but the great cushioning I had at first disappeared after about 3weeks. Now hard rubber. Feels like it's split apart in the middle of heel. Left side leans to the outside of shoe. I'm walking on side of shoe. Never had this happen before. Sole coming apart somewhat and even shoestrings broke even though I don't untie/tie them every time I put them on. Wear them at work. Was expecting better.

Hurt my feet. I would rather walk on concrete barefooted that in the HOKA shoes you sent me. I am still waiting on replacement shoes. I hope they are better than the pair they sent me if not. I will return for a refund. I have a pair of N/B I like better than the HOKA shoes. I was told they are better but HOKA has not proved that to me.

I have favored the Hoka Bondi shoes since 2016. I have raved about them to many over the years. I believe my first pair were the Bondi 4. That's about 7+ years of Hoka Bondi's and roughly 14 pairs of them over those years. Unfortunately the new Bondi 8 I just picked up a couple of weeks ago no longer offers the same feel as the previous models. I'm finding the forward 1/3 of my feet are becoming sore just after walking a couple miles. That has never been the case in the past. The Bondi 8's sole pattern is slightly different than the Bondi 7. I'm not sure if it's the sole or the cushioning that is the issue in the Bondi 8. Nonetheless, it's not the great experience I've had in the previous models.

I've tried both 11s and 12 and they both cause foot pain, and joint pain. Through half my shift I have to take them off just to relax.
