The Bondi 8 is a significant downgrade from previous iterations I've owned. For example, compared to the Bondi 7 L, the eight feels less cushiony, and the fit feels offpoor build quality. The bottom of the shoe began fraying after a few weeks. After a month, significant heel and foot pain impelled me to return the eights. Even with significant wear, the Bondi 7's fit and comfort are far superior. Unfortunately, I had a similar experience going from the Gaviota four to five. Hoka, please stop messing with a good thing. Sometimes good enough is good enough.

After returning and purchasing a different style and the sizing being completely different I've yet to receive my exchange for a bigger size almost a MONTH later. This was a Christmas gift and now we're entering February with no new shoes. I've heard such great things of Hoka's but this has been the most complicated situation. Hoping I receive them soon.

If you try to place 2 orders within a certain time frame, they flag your account and cancel the order. Ridiculous. I just wanted another pair of shoes and was treated like I was trying to commit fraud. Apparently my money isn't good enough for these people.

I've worn the Bondi on and off for a while. Bad fit. this newest version is not good for my foot, I have high arches and I wear full orthotics, which used to fit just fine in the Bondi but with this new tongue in the shoe which is not attached much too far up for my foot makes them way too tight in my mid-foot

They felt great first 30 days, then support went out on the outside and feet lean out and no support bad on knees. Worst customer service when the top fabric started separating from sole.

Uncomfortable, narrower than Bondi 7, quality is not great compared to previous similar models. Would not recommend.

Sorry to say it's my first time buying Hoka but the first one that I bought was totally disappointing. This one is not comfortable at all. Mistakenly, I trashed the shoe box because I have heard about Hoka . But this is not the comfortable one.

Super cushioned and comfortable for the entire 2 miles I wore them. The sole delaminated. This happened to another pair of the same shoe but after over a year of significant wear. Great shoes if the sole does not fall apart. For $165 there are better options. Switched to New Balance 1080 V12
Zappos as always was great.

Bondi 8 shoes suck. The cushion in the heal is not good. Bondi 7 were perfect and then they messed it up. I have had 8 pairs of Bondi 7. Now i dont know what to do. Extension of heel cushion isnt good either. It gets stuck on the stairs! Do better Hoka!!!

I don't recommend this model. It looks good but the way the inner arch is constructed is way too rigid. There is a lack of in the shoe cushion which for me resulted in blisters even while wearing Marino wool socks.

I like to update shoe status overtime. I'm not sure how to update past reviews on this shoe on Zappo. So, I'll update here again. The Bondi 7 was nice (bought twice) but this Bondi 8 is very uncomfortable. My feet hurt so bad that I had to stop using them and simply donated them. My pain all went away after tossing these shoes. I couldn't even walk in them or use them for work.

I"ll currently using brooks ghost with positive results.

The Bondi 8 is horrible. I loved the Bondi 7 and had four or five pair. There was a nice cushion around the heel. It had a tendency to wear, but the shoes stayed very comfortable for their whole life.
The Bondi 8 replaced the nice cushion with what feels like a stainless steel plate. It’s probably plastic, but it is extremely uncomfortable. I wore my new Bondi 8s for one day and had blisters on my heels and shooting pains up from my right ankle. I have no idea what shoes I will have to go to now. Angry and disappointed!

Style & color are great, but when you get into rating the comfort and how I feel about them overall then they're a total flop! I bought these believing that Hoka was supposed to be a comfortable shoe, but I was wrong! I've worn these off & on for the past month and they are the worst-feeling shoes I have purchased in the past 25 years. They feel much smaller than the DOUBLE EE WIDTH they advertise and the bottom has absolutely NO CUSHIONING (unlike my Skechers). After about an hour of wearing them the soles of my feet feel like I have been walking on concrete barefooted, and NOT in a good way!
I'd also recommend:

I bought this shoe after consulting with Hoka's online employee about what I was looking for in essential features. She suggested this model. I thought that the shoe seemed well made. That said, it was too narrow at the ball of my feet, the cushioning was great in the heel but not near the front of the shoe, and the size was too small. I could have kept trying different styles i suppose, but as the nearest decent shoe store is 50 miles one way, doing so by mail would take too long

Bought shoes in September and in less than 3 months the left loop on the shoe broke. Very disappointed in the quality of the shoe. I have bought Hokas before and this is the first time I have experienced this.

I got the extra wide. They are wide in the toe box and that's it, not wide across the rest of the shoe. I'm so disappointed. I don't need a wide toe box, I need the entire shoe to be wide to accommodate my foot. I am a woman and have tried the women's wide hokas with no luck. I thought for sure a men's extra wide would work. My feet aren't even *that* wide, it's just that the only thing wide about these shoes is the toe box which is not helpful at all when the rest of the shoe is very narrow and pressing in on your foot.

I do not recommend this shoe. The comfort was bad. The shoe caused extreme ankle pain. The pain went away after not using the shoes. As others stated, the back of the shoe wears (too early) and a plastic piece cuts into your heel. Very disappointed in Hoka Bondi 8. I had high expectations for this shoe given the cost. I'm reluctant to try any Hoka shoes again.

Bring back Bondi 6s or 7s.. 8s are glorified Sketchers. No cushion. Cheap material. Trying to save money. Destroyed a good shoes.

After owning these shoes for a year its it support disappointing that they are falling apart inside where the heel sits. After paying such a large amount on a shoe you would think they would last longer then a year.

I had the previous release of this shoe and it fit great! I bought the widest size available and at first it felt good but after a couple weeks of wearing the shoe my pinkie toe is raw from being crammed so tight against the side. Don't let the width of the shoe fool you,the inner design of the shoe forces your toes to the right making it a very tight fit.
