I have metatarsalgia in my right foot and could only run for 40 mins or so before it felt like a rock was under my foot. Got so bad even walking for 30 mins brought on the pain. To boot (no pun intended) I had gained a lot of weight weighing in at 236 lbs. After much research I gave the Bondi 8 a try. A few points to note. I feel the shoes do need a break in period. So I was walking the dog about two miles a day for about two weeks. No ball of foot pain! Before running in the Bondi 8's I purchased a pair of Super Feet insoles for running. Don't get me wrong the shoes alone are great but the insoles were the finishing touch I needed. Also, I went with a wide which is recommended for metatarsalgia. The arch support took some getting used to but is needed to shift the weight from ball of foot to rest of foot. First time running in shoes with minimal drop, but again this is preferred for sufferers of metatarsalgia. Final note - on my first attempt I ran/jogged for an hour with ZERO foot pain! The first time in years. Terrain was a mixture of uphill, downhill, asphalt and grass. Bottom line - these shoes are excellent especially if you are on the heavy side. They grey color goes with anything and looks quite stylish. I tried Brooks Glycerin 20 before these and had to return them as they did not help my foot issue. I have previously always bought Saucony Triumphs but technically these are far superior. I will be buying Hoka going forward.

I need 13 4E shoes with a large toe box. I was limited to Bondi 8. The right shoe feels fine. The left shoe feels tight. I was going to send them back but everyone I talk to said these shoes would help me walk. I am not convinced yet so I decided to keep them and give them a good try. Somedays the left big toe gets sore shortly after putting them on, other days it seems fine. I tried chatting with customer service before purchasing but they claim they could not provide any guidance on fit or even tell me that the bondi 8 had a large toe box.

I use these shoes almost exclusively for walking on a treadmill. It took a couple of days to get them formed to my feet, but now they are great. To be honest, the Bondi 6 shoes felt better but these are also great.

I want to love them but they don't compare to the running on clouds feel that I get from the Bondi7. While there is cushion I loved the extreme cushion feeling of the Bondi7 which is what set them apart from the completion. IMHO Hoka messed with a good thing. I had to switch from a 10M to a 10W due to the toe box that is much narrower. I also feel that it rubs just below my ankle bone in a funny way. I am going to try them on one more run and if they don't fit right return them to Fleet Feet for a different brand. I might have to convert to the OnCloud running shoe which disappoints ,since I have been wearing the Bondi7 for several years.

I work in a job where I stand and walk a lot and these are perfect my feet have never felt better. They don't seem like a crazy difference until you put on a different pair of shoes after wearing them for a day. It's a huge difference. Other shoes feel like walking bear foot.

I have an issue with a bone spur at one or more tarsal-metatarsal joints in my left foot. This causes a persistent aching pain which is aggravated by contact with a shoe. I also have extensor tendinitis due to this condition. My primary care doctor recommended this type of shoes. The first pair of shoes were D width which according to the information on the HOKA web site should have fit but were too tight. I exchanged them for an EE width which seems to fit OK. I returned the first pair of shoes to Fleet Feet in Sacramento and purchased another pair in the wider size. I was supposed to have gotten a refund for the first pair within 10 days. It has now been 20 days and still no refund. I contacted HOKA by phone and was told they didn't know what the problem was and they would have to investigate and get back to me. I was told it take more than a week to resolve this and I have not heard anything as yet. It isn't clear if the HOKA shoes will help with my foot problem. They are wider in the toe area which may help. I'm scheduled to consult with a podiatrist for further resolution. At this point in time I am undecided if I would recommend this product. That is dependent on whether I ever get a refund for the pair that I returned.

Due to bone spurs that make it difficult for me to walk or stand on my feet very long, I have tried a wide variety of shoes and the Bondi 8 was the perfect shoe for me. It has given me the abiity to function much better and quality of life.

My son is a nurse. These were his second pair and the third pair will be in the near future. 12 hour shifts ... foot pain, back pain ... a thing of the past. Enough said!

I've been buying the Bondi 7 for a few years and was very happy with it. This model has been discontinued. I bought and tried the Bondi 8 and, unfortunately, it has been redesigned and doesn't fit. You've made it wider at the front but narrower in the middle. I have a high arch and the extra wide fit me well. The Bondi 8 in the same size/width no long fits. I'm very disappointed.

Having weird feet, I ordered a size that was MUCH too big. (This is my first experience with HOKA shoes) The shoes were very comfortable, but looked like clown shoes, so I sent them back. I need them for a trip, so I won't be reordering now. But I bet I will in the future! The return policy was easy and it was free, so ordering online with HOKA won't be as onerous as some other companies. (I live in Hawai'i)

I had heard alot of older people like the Bondi 8's so I thought I would give them a try. Unfortunately they weren't for me at this time, I think they need to be broken in which I didn't like. Not as cushiony as I would have thought. I guess I can see where some people would like them as they do have a wider platform for stability. I love ordering from zappos with their delivery and ease of returns. Thanks
I'd also recommend:

Last 2 times I have purchased Biondi 8s I have been disappointed. Toe box is narrower and I do not have wide feet. Unfortunately, just not that comfortable as my first few pairs. :-(

I would prefer more padding for the inner sole. I have had 2 bouts of plantar fasciitis and a soft inner sole is a must for me. otherwise the shoes are ok.

This is probably my 7th pair of Bondis. I usually buy the newest model starting back with the Bondi 1 or 2. As I've noticed, there are usually minor changes to the shoe over the generations, most better, some worse. The build quality on these are great and they are probably one of most stable Bondis I've owned. Two negatives I have are that they fit a little small. I have always purchased 8.5s, but these feel more like 8.25s. I had this same issue with the Bondi 6. The Bondi 7 and others below fit fine. Secondly, although comfortable, I think that extra stability has come at the cost of reduced ride comfort. These have to be the most un-plush Bondis I've ever had. The only reason I wouldn't recommend these is because they are not true to what the Bondi has been know for, an ultra comfortable, pillow-like road shoe. I would recommend a cheaper pair of Bondi 7s, or wait for the Bondi 9.

Walking, there seems to be a breaking in period, left arch is a little too big, if my toes hit first, it is more comfortable. Will try a different model next time or go back to Merrills

the new Bondi 8 works well with my hammertoe - previous Bondi versions did NOT work so well because of the construction method. I will continue to purchase Bondi 8 shoes DESPITE the fact that the shoes are "BLASTED" with the "HOKA" logo.... WAY, WAY TOO much gratuitous advertising for my tastes! SO, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BONDI "LEATHER" EDITIONS, EH? Hola dumbed them down and did not deliver a "brown color" street shoe that could satisfy any number of daily possibilities and now NONE of the leather Bondi's are available. VERY, VERY POOR thinking on Hoka's part! I would wear leather, brown BONDI's in my shoe size (NOT UNISEX!!!!!) until the cows come home. I would own MULTIPLE pairs! Obviously, I am not part of the Hoka audience.... too bad for Hoka...... Can Hoka say "ON RUNNING???"

My husband's podiatrist approved of these shoes. He said to keep him in these shoes for the plush cushioning and for the slight rocker effect of the soles. He said this is what my husband needs to wear all of the time to help relieve his foot pain. The second joint in both of his big toes are bone-on-bone and when these joints start hurting, he cannot walk at all. These shoes minimize the pressure on the front part of his foot when he walks and softens the impact.
