I am presently hiking some trails in Patagonia, Chile. It is the perfect size for a short hike. I carried my sunglasses, 20 oz water bottle, hand cleaner and my wallet. Still had room for other items.

Was much smaller than I was thinking. Quality was good and it was a nice bag overall. I have it to my girlfriend and it worked better with her smaller frame.

I have had my Borealis sling for a few weeks now. I absolutely love it. I have never used a sling bag before, so after a couple of days to get used to it, I really like it. It is the perfect small bag in which to to carry a few things. It is comfortable and very accessible. I hate having things in my pockets and prefer to carry a small bag for daily use. The reviews state a water bottle doesn't fit in the holder........false. If you stretch the elastic band a little, a half liter bottle fits easily. It is true is that the zippered pouch on the strap will not fit a modern phone. So I just use it for other small items. The bag is comfortable worn either in front or the back. From the back, it easily slides around to the front for access. I do agree that the strap could be a little short for larger people. I am 5 foot 4, and it fits perfectly. Perhaps Northface could provide a strap extension upon request. I got this bag to replace a Jansport Half Pint, and am glad I did. I much prefer this one. It is a small bag, but don't be afraid to pack it full. I recently had it packed full.....umbrella, water bottle, lunch, phone, and all kinds of things. When I took if off, the strap was so comfortable I didn't notice how much it weighed. Great little bag.

I use it for hikes. Its size is perfect; not bulky. It's lightweight and practical. It fits all necessary items - water bottle, phone, personal items (wallet, glasses, etc.)

I purchased this bag, for when we go on short day hikes and to amusement parks. As it fits a 40oz Hydro Flask (main compartment, iPhone Pro Max (soft, small outer pocket), wallet, chapstick, keys, hair ties (inside mesh compartment) and phone bank (side pocket) comfortably. I brought healthy bars/snacks inside the main compartment and when I didn't need my sweater/keffiyeh I inserted into the outer loops. The only drawback, is if the pack is still around the same weight throughout the day, it's a side bag that you cannot interchange on your back, so one side can get tired. I bought three, the gardenia/white for my oldest daughter.

I would have strongly preferred to purchase the Base Camp Voyager Sling if it included a water bottle side sleeve and an additional easyaccess organization pocket. Would been perfect commuting bag.

Love love - very cute. The padding in the strap really helps - other straps used to cut into my shoulders.

I bought this bag to take to Universal Studios. I love a crossbody so that I can be hands free. It held just enough stuff and I liked the phone pocket on the front of the strap.

Bought another one of these ... because it's perfect for my uses.
See my other review below; this review adds on top of that.
It's got a compartment that has soft cotton to protect a nice leather wallet which is easily accessed by rotating the bag to your chest.
The main capacity was great for any small shopping (like a jar of preserves) that a tote bag or similar isn't necessary.
My one complaint is that the website description is clearly incorrect and I must revise my last review: there is no standard water bottle size that can fit a 2" diameter sleeve. I checked both MEC and Canadian Tire and no water bottle fit. That said, I didn't buy this bag for water bottle holding but the first negative review would have a valid point ... except I put my small umbrella in the "water bottle holder" and it fit perfectly.
There's been clearly a miscommunication between the product design department and the marketing department at North Face. I tried to tell the online chat help this but their scripts held strong that it was a water bottle holder. It clearly isn't. It make far more sense that this is an umbrella holder ... which makes its compact utility even better. For this size of bag from coast to coast of Canada, I would rather an umbrella holder than a water bottle holder anyways.
If I want to carry a water bottle, my Manna bottle fits fine in the main compartment. Totally not the end of the world. There may or may not have been sarcasm in the last sentence.

I got the pink one its very cute and dainty. Fits well and its comfortable. Obviously its a tiny bag more like a fanny pack.. so don't expect to put tablets and stuff in there.. just get a backpack at that point. but its perfect for a few small things on a hike. good quality and it shipped to me in 2 days.

Trying to find a shoulder bag that a guy can wear with confidence and without worry of judgment from other guys has been a long journey.
I'm the guy who loves pockets because of course you need your wallet. Of course you need a place for coins. Of course you need a place for your keys. Of course you have more than one key. Of course I need a big phone ... my eyesight is getting worse. Plus, videos are better on bigger screens. Of course, I need this or that.
What? I can only use pockets? Yeah, I'm the guy with wear lines on my jeans where the wallet with too much stuff has created an outline. My female friends always had purses ... I have no interest in purses. They seem to focus on pretty rather than utility.
I want pockets and convenience if I am gonna carry a small shoulder bag at all.
Finally, I found this one. It resonated immediately. There's a pocket on the shoulder strap. There's a mesh pocket for miscellaneous on one side. There's a sleeve that's perfect for a passport or other folder papers on the other side. It's not too big, not too small. But yes, the water bottle holder is skinny ... so I just gotta find a skinny water bottle that fits.
This is the first single-shoulder bag that I can say that I feel comfortable wearing. My jeans pockets are celebrating. They may have a hangover tomorrow.

It's my go to pack. It's so convenient to use and it looks good too. You don't have to worry about pick pockets because you can put it in front of you for total safety.

Love this sling bag! I bought this for a better bag to take in the Disney parks. It fits everything I need for a park day with room to spare. It is light weight and small enough to take off and slip under my feet for the rides. I like that the sling strap can hold my phone and quick access to money or card.

This is the perfect size bag for day trips. Enough space for the essentials in a compact bag. Access to all pockets without having to remove the bag is super handy.
