This is my second pair of this shoe. The originals would've lasted longer but the dog chewed them.

Good quality and comfort at a reasonable price point

I've had these XC4 plain toe shoes for about three months and look forward to wearing them! These shoes are the most comfortable I've ever worn. I have plantar fasciitis and a low arch and have worn Ecco shoes for year which I also enjoy wearing....but these are by far the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. They can be dressed up with slacks or more casual with dockers or jeans. They're very versatile and I've have had several people stop me in public and ask about them.

So far, one of the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever own and worn.

This is my 2nd pair of Tanners. I bought these for work. They are the most comfortable shoe I've worn. I even want to wear them outside of workthey are that good.

Was concerned that with a wide foot, the insert removal would not be enough for my wide feet. It was and is very comfortable.

Very comfortable dress shoe. I am a Jehovah's Witness with back issues. I mentioned my faith because I do a lot of walking in dress shoes so I have to wear something that won't trigger fatigue in my legs or back spasms. These shoes have been great for me. The stock insole is very comfortable, I replaced them with superfeet (black). I do that with all of my dress shoes, so it's not a knock against this shoe. I highly recommend if you need a dress shoe that will hold up an entire day. If you have a wide foot bed, it will take a day or two to break these in. In general, I am much happier after a couple of days of breaking in the shoes. The sole of the shoe feels much harder than it wears, it has just the right amount of cushion. The leather needs to be broken in but thats pretty standard with most dress shoes. I will be a long time Johnston and Murphy customer. I wish I came across these shoes sooner. If you are concerned about sizing, I recommend going to footwear etc or J&M to try them on. If they don't have the style you like, buy them online direct from J&M. In comparison to other shoes sizes, my new balance, and Hoka's are both 11 1/2 Wide.

These were expensive for us but we still took a chance and couldn't be more pleased. My college age son was working in a fine dining restaurant that required dress shoes. These checked both boxes are far as being a gray work shoe and filling in for casual nights out in the town. Johnson Murphy was a brand my dear old Dad swore by. He always said never skimp on quality when it comes to shoes. And he was right. Still excellent service from this company as well. Highly recommend!

Solid stable comfortable water proof good looking shoe. Great alternative to dress my jeans up a bit but still have a casual look.

Unparalleled quality and comfort

I love these shoes. I've been wearing the blue nubuck ones for a couple of years and wanted some variety so bought these. No regrets whatsoever. They look and feel great and are oh so comfortable! Well done, J&M!

Waterproof, comfortable, and excellent traction but very stylish. For me, traction is number one. I want to be sure-footed on any terrain or condition. Waterproof and comfortable are plusses. Stylish is a really nice bonus instead of the clunky shoes I was wearing to get the traction/comfort/waterproof combination. I was somewhat skeptical - but the removable insert for a wide fit worked great - I typically wear 12EE so I gotta have wide.

Excellent fit with style.

Really comfortable, supportive and quiet on all types of floors. I'm 6'1 220lbs and it's har for me to sneak up on anyone, yet people are constantly saying, hey where did you come from! Classic style, waterproof and running shoe quality support. My 3 pair and as long as they make this style of XTC, I will continue to purchase. Fit true to size.
