The shoes were in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, since my last purchase from Florsheim, the Imperial has apparently been redesigned with a higher outside upper, causing it to cut into my ankle. This was the problem with the less-expensive oxford models I tried on several years ago, and I was elated to discover the Imperial, which was cut lower and therefore was worth the additional cost. It still wear two paier of that model. Unfortunately, this version of the Imperial dashed those hopes, and I have returned it.

I have been buying Florsheims to wear to work for the last 30+ years. I have always been very happy with them. The quality has degraded. Even the shoe laces are absolute garbage. If it matters these shoes are Made in India.

These shoes were purchased because they are the same brand and model of shoe that my Dad wore in the 60's and 70's. They look great and are extremely comfortable. That's the good. The bad is that the sole on my right show sucks up water like a sponge. I've been trying to figure out why my right shoe has been getting wet because I am careful to not let water get on the upper leather. I've checked the sole closely and there is no split. I've owned these shoes since July so this shouldn't be a problem. Very frustrating.

These shoes are horrible. They have a very think sole made entirely of wood so while they give lift to a short person, they do not bend. It's like walking on boards. Not sure what Florsheim was thinking? Not a fan of the plastic-looking outer material.

This shoe, an 8 1/2 EEE, was just wide enough to squeeze into and had more than an inch in extra length past the big toe. It seems that the company just slapped a "EEE" label on something like a 9 1/2 or 10.

Low quality. This shoe lasted about 6 months. The leather broke down quickly. I also found these shoes to be very slippery. I've never owned such a poorly made pair of shoes.

I bought two pairs of Kenmore. Unfortunately I wore one pair to work and my feet and ankles were killing me. I bought dr Schols inserts but that didn't help. Wound up in sneakers the rest of the day. Its too bad bc I like the style. But they are unwearable. I have one pair that I have not worn. The other that I wore once. What can I do?? Can I return them?

Bought these as I wanted classic styling. The shoe has that, but is the most uncomfortable I have ever bought. Wore it several days on carpeting as people suggest it needs to break in. felt it would never get to an acceptable comfort level. So back it goes. So stiff the sole does not flex at all. Would be perfect for someone in a wheelchair without feeling in their feet. I own three other pairs of Florsheims and will buy more but not this one. I have high arches. So perhaps that influences the review. Perhaps not suitable for that. Also these are quite heavy. I have a pair of steel toed Red wings that feel lighter.

First, I have to say that I have worn Florsheim Lexington (or similar) shoes since the early 1980s with no issues. The Kenmoor are the worst shoes I have ever owned. The first pair developed an annoying click in the right heel about two weeks after I got them. I brought them to a cobbler (assuming a repair would be cheaper and easier than sending them back). He declined to repair them saying as it was a mid-sole issue, the repair likely would not last. So I contact Florsheim to do the repair, but they too declined. Persistence paid off, or so I thought, and they finally exchanged them. The first replacement pair were loafers! Those were sent back immediately; the second replacement were Kenmoors like I returned. That pair, even though worn only two to three days a week, quickly wore through the leather on the topline and later developed a loud squeak in the mid-sole. Sorry Florsheim -- I was a customer for 30+ years, but I work too hard to have shoes last a few months.

I thought I was buying a quality shoe that would last several years. After 6 months of occasional use, the edge around the ankle started to wear through. It's either vinyl or a cheap corrected grain leather. Certainly not "finest leathers and craftsmanship" as described by Florsheim. This is something I've only seen occur on very cheaply made shoes. Not what I expected from the Imperial name.

I have been wearing Florsheim Imperials for over 30 years. In my most recent order I got a brand new pair of Imperials with no front insoles. I got a free return only to get a second pair ( maybe the same pair) back also with no front insoles. At that point I took them to my local cobbler and paid for insoles to be put in the shoes. DON'T ORDER SHOES FROM THE WEBSITE. I am a very disappointed customer.

This is a comfortable and handsomely designed shoe, but the quality of the finish is atrocious. The leather was hard and plasticky and came out of the box with scratches and errant dye spots. The edges of the soles were dinged. For a shoe at this price point, the quality was simply unacceptable.

I ordered these shoes and wore them for a week and absolutely loved them. I then noticed that the welt (or Goodyear sole) was falling away from the uppers and the shoe began to look unfinished as the inner part of the welt that runs along the upper was raw leather. I sent them back and they sent me another pair with the exact same problem, but this time the welt on the left shoe was not sown correctly. The quality control seems inadequate. I would still like a pair of these shoes, but need to find a store where I can do my own inspection prior to purchase.

Poor quality leather. The souls are stiff and hard as wood. I bought a pair of Italian made wingtips, superb, the soul actualy allows you to walk and beautifully made. Only a few dollars more. Quality sells.

Florsheim claims to be a over 100 year old company but the quality of the product wants a lot and does not speaks of what it should be. It is made in India but nothing wrong with it. I am someone from that part of the world. I became a shoe enthusiast at a very early age choosing from good quality product is my forte and have some kind of instinct towards quality product shoe craftmanship in the Indo-Pak is 200 times better than what I saw on the Kenmore shoe. The inside is worse crude job done on stitching finish, insole, The half padded insole looks very odd and was not comfortable at all. While I did the trial walk heel felt loose. There is stiffness on the outside but a better judgement can only come after wearing a few times. I have returned the shoe

Good looks don't equal comfort. Great looking shoe; HARD leather uppers; the sole of the foot feels impaled on an unyielding surface!
