I just bought the cognac colour in New York (now I'm back in Sweden), they looked very nice when new. But I've used them twice and the leather is already chipping and cracking. In my opinion they are made out of cheap corrected grain leather.
I have no idea how so many people can rate them so high? Ibased my purchase on the reviews but I feel let down.

Nice looking shoes but there ends it's virtues. The sole is un-forgivingly hard making this shoes one of the most uncomfortable.

Too late!
This is my 4th pair of shoes from Zappos. Unfortunately, this pair, which I have in Brown also was delivered and I immediately wore them on a business trip. I did not realize that the this pair was an 11.5B until I started to really feel the tightness on the top of my left foot. I did not specify 11.5B; just the 11.5 regular. It’s too late for a return / exchange as I had wore them for a day trip. I guess your company was just trying to dump the last pair with the unusual fit. Thanks to me for being the loyal customer.

These shoes are very expensive. They are stiff & extremely uncomfortable. I like florsheim shoes; these are the only pair that I would never buy again

Terrible shoes the leather looks like from a toy doll. When you moved operations to India for a better profit margin you should have just closed the doors. Nothing about this shoe says quality. It's embarrassing to see what florsheim has become. I've owned vintage imperials this doesn't even come close.

Uncomfortable. It's a hard and stiff shoe. Hopefully they'll loosen up. Very stylish though.

May way well be walking barefoot on concrete. Couldn't wait to get out of them. No support and slippery. Look great but that's all.

did not use the shoe and kept it for a festive occasion.
When the holiday arrived I wore the shoe once !!!
And the sole of the shoe, which you claim is made of pure leather, just started to crumble ...Product is defective in all opinions and there is no answer from customer service !!

Cheap.. sure wish they made them like the original ones. I have worn them for 50years. Make them exactly like you used to!!! Too much plastic in the new ones. Sure they cost more, but the fake wingtip will be my last.

French bindings are made of imitation leather and wear through after a few months' wear. Florsheim refused to replace bindings or shoes. It will now cost at least $150 to replace French bindings, which are the pipings at the top of the shoe. My other Florsheim shoes don't have this defect.

The shoes come super shiny. First time I wore them, it looked like cheap plastic coating on the leather started to bubble up. There are also severe creases after one wear. I have several other pair of Florsheim shoes of which I have been happy with. I doubt I will buy another pair due to this pair. Very disappointed.

Excellent quality & good looks. No fit this time due to swollen ankle & feet. Would give you a 10 for your shoes on previous buys!

The piping wears out quickly unlike previous Imperials, the only model I purchase. It seems to be made of a "leatherette", not 100% leather. Where worn, I can see a fabric interior. I own Imperials that are ten-years-old that show no wear on the piping so standards have declined. Other reviewers mention this problem so I'm not imagining it. I hope that Florsheim addresses this issue soon.

I have been wearing Imperials since I was a teenager and never had a complaint about quality or quality control. In fact, I own a pair that I purchased eleven years ago that show no excessive wear. However, on two of the last four pairs I've purchased, the piping has worn out because it's no longer made of leather. Now, it's a "leatherette" product such as you might see on an inexpensive office chair. I still wear these shoes but now I'm experimenting with other brands which have not compromised their standards and when they say "leather uppers", they mean it.

The left shoe side is much taller than the right causing my ankle to bite into the leather .. very poor quality!!!

This would have been my third pair. I was very satisfied with this shoe in the past, but this pair began to wear out within months. First the heel came off, then the sole began to blister and eventually became a hole. For the money, I expected more.

I Have purchased this shoe for years. Extremely disappointed and frustrated that my size is no longer available. I have a narrow foot and size limiting shoe choice. Also, the look of the redesigned Kenmoor II sucks. The non-matching sole color makes it look like a CHEAP shoe.

These are not your father's Florsheim. Made in India (poorly). They squeek terribly. I should have returned them, but refused to give up. Eventually I took them to a shoe repair shop where he showed me how the heels had been put together with no glue, allowing the wood pieces to rub together and make the terrible squeek. He replaced with a rubber heel.
This is very sad. DO NOT BUY THIS SHOE. They deserve to go out of business.

These classic wingtip shoes do not compare with the Imperial wingtips of the past. The quality of the sole stitching leaves something to be desired, and the shoes are stiffer than a board. Have worn Florsheim shoes for many years and was very disappointed. Consequently, Florsheim has lost a customer.

Do NOT buy these shoes! Way too stiff and won't bend. Bought these for my daughter's wedding to go with a tux and there is no way these shoes could have been worn right out of the box for an entire day. Had a pair of these a number of years ago and could wear them immediately and were comfortable. Florsheim quality has done hill over the years.

I purchased these online. They arrived and I was dumbfounded that Florsheim allowed these to be sold.
1. The narrow leather trim, that cradles the upper just above the welt, was cut so erratically it looks wavy around the entire shoe's upper. Around the heel cup it measures 7-8mm and an inch later it recedes down to 2-3mm in height. This erratic leather cutting continues around the entire upper. Shoe looks like it was cut by blind children without hands.
2. The welt on the insole of the left shoe had a huge (pencil eraser sized) gouge 5mm deep, cut through the welt and into the sole and extends all the way up into the uneven/wavy leather trim surrounding the upper. It seriously looks like a 5 year old did the trim work.
I had originally intended these to serve as my go to dress shoe for special occasions or events... but after seeing the extremely poor craftsmanship, I have relegated these for daily wear to extract the value out of these abominations as rapidly as possible. I did not return them as this pair were already an exchange for defective/used shoes they sent me the 1st time.
Sadly, Florsheim's lack of quality control (on their top tier/most expensive Imperial line) forces me to shift my money preferentially towards the purchase of US made Allen Edmond's dress shoes.

The very first day I wore this shoe I noticed a scuff on the left toe. I figured I had hit it and just needed to buff it out. Upon closer inspection I noticed that it was actually a bubble. I carefully picked at it and off came a dime sized piece of reddish plastic coating. I realized that the whole shoe is coated in this plastic coating which had began to CRACK at the wear creases. A quality shoe should not come coated in plastic just to make it look better. I needed this shoe to wear to an event in two days. I took the shoes to a quality cobbler who removed the coating and had to re-dye the shoes in order to wear them. The cobbler said they are made of quality leather and what a shame Florsheim has lowered its standards and started spraying its upper line shoes with this stuff to enhance the look.
