The shoes are well-made,comfortable,and durable; hard to find a wingtip as nice. I'm just disappointed that right out of the box, you can tell that the leather looks "cheaper" and more plastic-like than they did 10 years ago. I've had 3 pairs and they used to be thicker, better leather. Still nice, but not what I was expecting.

Some things never change, meaning we know what going to get every time, with Florsheim it's great quality and excellent workmanship. Trendy is not a smart way to spend your money stay with the classic's and you want go wrong.

It’s a quality shoe. Definitely a tight fit for the size and since the leather is very hard, takes time to break in. However, comfortable and almost indestructible once broken in.

Zappos Great; Florsheim Not So Great - The shoes were extremely tight for 11 EEE's. My feet have always either been 10 1/2 EEE or 11 EE, so I went with the 11 EEE to be on the safe side. The shoes hurt my feet terribly. Zappos cus serv, great shipped out new pair immediately. Unfortunately they were just as tight. I kept the originals as they began to stretch. Most painful shoe break-in of my life.

Nice shoe at reasonable price - I just received my Kenmoors and find them on inspection to be well made and true to size. I usually purchase Allen Edmunds, but since purchasing my last pair three years ago, the prices have risen substantially so I figured I would try another brand. These shoes will definitely need a period of break-in which I am not used to. The sole is very inflexible and I hope it breaks in in a reasonable amount of time.

Kenmoor - A very good shoe. I've been impressed with the quality of materials and workmanship. I've owned cheap Florsheims before and they are not even in the same league as the Kenmoor. They are very comfortable. My only concern is the edge of the sockliner. It's been curling up a bit when I remove the shoes. We'll see if this presents a problem down the line.

Classic Quality Shoes. No question about the quality of these shoes. Like a previous reviewer, I found these run about a 1/2 size larger. I ordered a size 12 and had to return them for an 11.5. I was glad I ordered the extra wide as they seem to run a little narrow as well. In this day of shoes that are comfortable out of the box, they still require the old fashioned break-in period. I have been wearing evenings the last couple of weeks and wore them to church for an hour last Sunday. I was glad to take them off after an hour, but know they will eventually break themselves in. Again, there is no question that those purchasing these shoes will feel "well heeled".

Not quite sure, yet... I ordered the Carleton and it was a bit stiff at first, but once broken-in it’s super comfortable...SO, I upgraded to the Kenmoor in black and brown. They are very stiff and still breaking in. Also, the right shoe is very uncomfortable in the heel. The heel is higher than the left. I should have returned them, but I wore them and now I have to put some padding in the heel.

Florsheim Kenmoor - Well-constructed, nice looking shoe that requires more breaking-in than any other dress shoe that I've owned. Once broken in, however, they fit nicely. Very little cushioning; the comfort of these shoes lies in the nicely structured/shaped footbed. As others have mentioned, the sole is very slick out of the box.

Stiff, but good looking - You probably don't want to do a lot of walking in these, bring a comfortable pair of shoes along if you're planning to walk, but these shoes look great even after lots of wearing. They're stiff, (and loud, which isn't all bad unless you want to sneak up on people). They shine exceptionally well.

Good Quality Shoes - I have worn Florsheim Imperial Wing Tips for many years & they offer good support & never go out of style. Zappos prompt shipping is second to none.

Old Fashioned Shoe... still a classic! I looked for years to find a brown wing tip and this is the only one I could find. I usually wear Johnston and Murphy or Allen Edmonds. This is a very different, a much stiffer shoe. In fact, my others feel like slippers compared to the Imperial. The shoe is built like steel and is starting to break in. I love the looks of it and it will be worth the work to break in, just bring some band-aids to work the first few times! Doesn't show any crease marks yet at all and I've worn it 6 or 7 times. If you want a brown wing this is the shoe.

Old school - This is a fantastic shoe at a great price. They take a few wearings to break in, but they feel as though they will last forever. This shoe should be a staple in every man's closet.

Florsheim Imperials - This is my second pair. They take a little while to "break in." They are tough shoes, but, they are the best built. My first pair is about ten years old and have been resoled about three times. I expect them to last at least twenty or thirty years. Not bad in this day and age.

I bought a pair of the burgundy Kenmoor some time ago and I want to love the shoe, but the corrected leather won't let me. I get the cost cutting, but why would a shoe company cut costs on its flagship product? To add insult to injury, they've discontinued the pebble leather offerings, so we're stuck with black and burgundy standard.

When I first bought my Kenmoor's a year ago I was pleased. They fit okay, but with time two things happened. First the leather "gave" in such a way that my foot would move around in the shoe. A size 9D as with every other shoe manufacturer has been a Size 9D. Not bigger. Then about two weeks ago, the leather right behind the "wingtip" started to tear. Yes, tear! Florsheim has amazing customer service since I submitted photos and style number etc. and they gave me a refund in the form of a gift card. However, I keep reading about sizing problems and now the leather faulting (on an expensive shoe). Don't know If I want to invest in an another pair.

The goodyear welt and double leather soles are like putting lipstick on a pig. The uppers are constructed of "natural leather" a term that has no required meaning. What it certain is that "natural leather" is not "full grain" or "top grain" leather. I was hoping that the textured grain surface would mean that a lesser grade of "full grain" or "top grain" leather would be used. Instead, the material used appears to have a top layer of plastic.

I returned these shoes, but this is on me. I have owned a pair of burgundy Florsheim Imperial wingtips that I bought used in the mid-1990s. Such an amazing pair of shoes. Worn to the ground, had them resoled, wore them until the backs blew out. More recently, I bought another pair in brown, but the last is different and now the D is too narrow for me. I wanted to replace my burgundy pair and tried the only wide option, which is EEE, but that is too wide. These are good shoes, but definitely not as nice as the pair I bought earlier, before they took the work offshore. I ended up buying another pair from an English maker: a wider last, but not E, much more expensive, but such beautiful work! A high quality formal shoe is a pretty expensive venture these days.

I will gladly frequently order these shoes if you add more width sizes. i.e. widths "E" & "EE". Presently you only offer extremes it's either "D" or "EEE". In my case one width is too narrow and the other is too wide. Remedy this situation and you have yourself a new and continuing customer.

I bought the Kenmore II in brown and they are great. Decided to get a pair in black but these are disappointing. First of all the leather looks like plastic. I'm pretty sure it's Corrected Grain Leather which is a real disappointment and should have been disclosed. Not only that the insole underneath itself. That should not have gotten by quality control.

A plastic/rubber sole is not what I expected from Florsheim. Looks great but the sole is heavy and stiff. Welcome to the world of cheap throw away products/shoes.

I purchased these brand new Kenmoor shoes in cognac pebble grain to replace my 20 year old also Made in India pair in cognac pebble. Upon arrival, I was initially impressed with the quality, but then two things struck me in comparison to my earlier Made in India model. First, the overall profile of the shoes is bulkier/wider than previous which does hurt the aesthetic a bit. Second and far more concerning is that the pebble grain texture in many spots on the new pair cannot be felt to the touch or it's so slight that it's almost without texture. This is a marked departure from my earlier pair and either is a sign of cutting costs or perhaps a downside of the desire to use more sustainable factories' products. I still will keep the pair, but now, instead of throwing away my earlier pair, I will consult with my cobbler as to the cost of resoling, new heels, counterlining repair, and new shoelaces for my intended-to-be-discarded pair as they may have to become the "make an impression" pair as this new pair just doesn't cut it. Having been an advocate for Florsheim products for 20+ years and for the Kenmoor model specifically, I must state that I'm truly disappointed. You should update your stock image to reflect the current state of the pebble grain.

I was disappointed by this purchase. This is the classic longwing dress shoe in black-in a way, Florsheim's flagship. The problem is the leather on the upper. It is corrected leather-thin, hardened, coated, and not really suited to using the array of shoe care products such as leather conditioners and polish. When leather is 'corrected' it is basically de-pored, which renders it incapable of receiving conditioners and polishes. Not what I would expect from a legendary flagship dress shoe. Having said all that, the shoe is well made. It has a thick sole and Goodyear Welting. But I just could not get past that corrected leather on the upper. I ended up exchanging these for the burgundy Kenmoor II longwing. The leather on the upper of this shoe is much better-softer, not corrected, has pores and will take a polish. It is a bit thin but still much better. In short, my recommendation is that Florsheim use thicker, softer, and not corrected leather on this, their flagship dress shoe. They may have to charge more for it, but even if the price of the shoe went up by, say, $75, it would still retail for under $300-more than competitive with Allen Edmonds, Alden, and many others. Florsheim, you basically invented this classic longwing. Why don't you give it the regal treatment it deserves, and use better leather. I believe it would sell.

I like the look of the shoe. I have a more classic style. I am not crazy about the fit. I normally wear 9 1/2 to 10. I ordered 9 1/2 and I feel the shoe is on the large size and not very comfortable to wear. It's a bit disappointing. I had already worn them a day or two and cannot return them otherwise I would for maybe a size 9. I would definitely order a 1/2 size smaller then you normally wear.
