For a Classic, Stylish, Yet Conservative Look - Works wonderfully with that charcoal gray, black, or navy suit, and possibly even with a tux. Suitable for all business functions and interviewing. Probably a bit too dressy for everyday wear, however. Cheaper than Allen Edmonds MacNeil and just as good, if not better. Can't go wrong with this shoe!

Great Value - A great shoe right off the bat, once you scuff up the sole for traction and wear it for a few days to increase the flexibility. The sole is extremely slippery and requires some pavement time before you stop slipping on tiles and carpet. The build of the shoe is very stiff to start off with but as you wear it in over a couple of days this will recede. The end result (after 3 weeks) is a very solid shoe wearing shoe that has a professional appearance with any suit and will probably last many years if you take care of it properly (use cedar shoe trees and don't wear it every day). Buy 2 or more pairs to swap out and you won't be disappointed.

Fabulous looks, treacherous break-in - As many other reviewers of this shoe have stated, the Florsheim Imperial Black shoe is truly beautiful. It commands attention with its superb style and classic look. It is extremely substantial in weight, and thus walking in a pair feels as if you are treading in ironclad business-meeting destroying über-shoes. This weight inspires confidence, and people will absolutely respect you more when they see you in these shoes…the eye is drawn to them, and other shoes pale in comparison to their well-heeled luster. Achieving this level of shoe envy assumes, though, that you manage to live through the first three weeks of wearing them. They arrive lovingly swaddled in Florsheim drawstring bags, but more appropriate packaging would consist of delivery in a Hazmat bag by a lawyer bearing a “must sign personal injury waiver in triplicate before opening” packet. Do frictionless surfaces exist? Yes, on the bottom of these Florsheim shoes. I fell no fewer than three times in the first week of ownership, and when you’re 6’6”, that is a long way to fall. I found myself intentionally dragging my feet in the hopes that I would scrape up the shoe bottoms enough to keep myself from banana-skidding to the floor. Three weeks later, I think the shoes are finally to the point that I can stop shuffling when I walk, and I’m hoping that I can release my feverish grip on the stair banister on my next trip to the rest room. They felt a little small for the size at first, but as time has progressed they are stretching and feeling more true to size (that, or my synapses are damaged enough from repetitive falls that I can't tell that they are still too tight). If these shoes truly last for twenty years (as reported in earlier reviews), then three weeks of danger is probably worth it…assuming you live through them.

Great looking shoe that feels true to size and width. The craftsmanship is exceptional.

Old reliable - The second pair that I've bought, although the first pair was purchased more than 25 years ago. (And I still own them.) Might look a little old-fashioned to some people, but I prefer the word classic. And though they may look heavy I find them comfortable to wear and attractive.

These are quality shoes. These shoes are high quality in looks and construction design. The fit is good and they supply the support that I need for my feet. I will purchase these shoes again.

Florsheim are the one of only dress shoes that fit. 7EEE is hard to come by. They work great for me.

Florsheim's Kenmoor - Long Wing - These shoes look great and the fit is exceptional. Very well made and durable feel. My next pair will be in black.

Florsheim Kenmoor Long Wing- Love these shoes very comfortable. At first they are very stiff, once broken in they are the most comfortable shoes.

Long Wingtip - Great looking very traditional wingtip like grandpa use to wear. Very sturdily built, with exceptionally thick sole for years of service. Thick sole makes it stiff at first and requires gradual break in period. Fine finish, sole also slick at first until roughed up some. Great shoe if you are looking for the traditional look in a shoe that will last!

Great shoes- This is my second pair of the Florsheim Kenmoor- I had my first pair in 1972 and I really like them. They are hard to break in, but after that they are very comfortable. I believe this shoe makes a statement about you.

Classic - These shoes are a classic and can be worn with just about anything. From jeans to slacks to formal wear. I really enjoy wearing them and am complimented on them frequently. I would recommend if buying them for a special occasion, to buy them in advance and break them in.

An Enduring Classic - Superlative arch support. Buy these shoes and you will overcome the sticker shock after the first week. These shoes exude with confidence. You can feel the attention to detail that went into the construction. You can literally hold on to these shoes for 20+ years if you take good care of them.

Best shoe ever - This shoe is the best shoe for the money I have ever seen. I have seen shoes in Beverly Hills that are of similar quality costing three or four times as much. They come in wide widths which is great and hard to find. I have only had them for about a month but they feel like running shoes and I hear they last 30 years if you take care of them. I put a shine on the toe that looks like glass.

Longest lasting - These are my 5th pair of Florsheim imperial black. Typically, my last pair lasted 9 years.

Best Dress Shoes ever - Bought black pair of Kenmoors first and loved them so went and bought burgundy pair of Kenmoors. I love the classic look that will never go out of style. The construction is top-notched (although the burgundy pair did have some blemishes). Florsheim Imperial line is their flagship line. This shoe is very substantial - it's heavy and the leather sole is very thick - a true man's shoe! I have wide feet (EEE) and this shoe accommodates with no discomfort. I love Allen-Edmonds shoes and these shoes are on the same level. The look is different though, I feel it projects a more powerful image than the Allen-Edmonds. Anyways, these are the most comfortable and best looking shoes I've ever owned. As usual, Zappos service is the best you can find of any and all online vendors. I had a 15% Florsheim coupon code (8520) that Zappos beat with their 110% price protection and then sent the shoes via UPS 2nd Day Air for free. I don't know a single person who hasn't been 100% happy with Zappos!

A classic - Having worn this style of shoe for more than 20 years, I am a true fan. I have noticed that over the years the quality has gone down somewhat but the style of the shoe is such a classic that I stick with it.

The one true shoe - The Kenmoor is to wingtips what anchovies are to fish...what espresso is to coffee...the very essence. Put all the wingtips together and squeeze the good stuff out and what comes out is the Kenmoor. The only question is...what color. Well what part of hand-stained cashmere do we not understand here? If I have to explain it you may not get it. With a Navy suit...giddyup. With a Grey suit...yeah baby. Long cuffed jeans...why didn't I think of that...khakis...no doubt about it. The cashmere Kenmoor can free up a lot of space in your footwear department. Anything more than these, a pair of penny loafers and yer kaboy boots and you are overstocked. Did I mention I love these shoes?

Nice shoe - Excellent quality, comfortable, sharp looking professional shoe.

Long Wings Black- Great looking and fitting shoe. Same shoe I wore in the 60s. Look great with dark blue suit as well as dress slacks. As always great service from Zappos.

Consistent size and high Quality- I've owned a pair of these wingtips for 10 years and have had them resoled every 18 months... I wanted a new pair and the ones I recently ordered are the same outstanding quality and comfort as the old ones... They exude credibility and strength.

The Brown Wing - I needed a brown dress shoe and thought I'd give the Long Wing a try. I'm completely impressed with this shoe. Sturdy, handsome, and the highest quality are what makes this shoe so special. If I treated these shoes like I used to treat my sneakers in the third grade, I would have slept with them under my pillow the first night. Additionally, you will want to take them out for a break-in walk before going anywhere. The new soles are super slippery, and the shoe is stiff, but after about a 1/2 hour on asphalt, it's all good.

These are great shoes and extremely comfortable. I wish they would put rubber souls on them as the leather soles are very slippery and caused me to break an ankle a few years ago so be careful, but you won't find a better shoe.
