My husband will only wear the Florsheim Imperial shoe. He has one of each color because this is the only shoe that suits/fits him best. He needs a EEE which not all brand provides. So, his strong preference validifies the comfort rating. I only wish however that they'd change the style/design of the shoe just for variety. I'm quite sick and tired of buying the same shoe year all the time, put the buckle somewhere else, change the buckle design, something!!!

A good dancing shoe...
Though the sole is a bit thin with little cushion, it is a great looking shoe - works for dress or casual. It is great for airports as it has a good look and is easy to slip on and off. The bonus is a comfortable shoe with leather soles so you can dance the night away after looking great at work.

Florsheim's Como Imperial -
Ordered 2 pair of Florsheim's for husband. Victor ran big and not as good of quality as Como, so returned it. Como more expensive but very happy with the shoes look and fit. Hope it last 4 years like his last pair. Very happy with Zappo's service. They get a 10!

Haven't found any that equal the Como Imperial yet.

Looks Great, Feels Great -
This shoe feels "broken in" from the moment you put it on. I have never worn a shoe that is this comfortable from the time you take it out of the box. Classic lines and easy to maintain. I have been purchasing these shoes for 25 years. The only drawback I have noticed is that they have gotten too expensive over the last few years.

John Kelly -
Bought it for the look and one of the reviews recommended it for guys with high insteps. Comfortable enough for me to wear as slippers.

Very good quality -
This is an excellent high mid-quality shoe, high quality being Ferragamo, Bally, etc. It fits looks better than average and the leather is very soft.

Label discomfort -
This is a great shoe EXCEPT for one flaw. The identifying label is on the inner sole at the heel location. The company made two slits in the inner sole and each end of the label is inserted and sewn. This creates discomfort for my heel and there is no way to remove the label without making a bad situation worse. I have owned Imperials in the past (some years ago) and this is my first experience with such a mistake. I suggest that the company needs to correct this asap. I will not purchase another Imperial until I know that this mistake has been corrected. Thanks, grg

Zappo Purchase of Florsheim Como Imperial -
Although I will be keeping the shoes, they had some faint scuff marks on the soles indicating a previous wearer. If I order from Zappo's again, I will appreciate some fresh ones. I order this shoe because it is one of the few that I can find in my width (AA). Although the shoe holds up reasonably well over the years, I have had some threads work lose after a few years wear. Workmanship does not seem to be up to the same standards as several years ago.

Good shoe - great customer service from Zappos -
Not a lot of options in the narrow 14 sizes. 14A's were too loose. Returned for 14AA's which fit fine. Zappos return policies are outstanding and they are a great customer service company!
I'd also recommend:
few choices in this size but Comos do the job

Florsheim Shoes quality -
Although I have worn Florshien shoes all my like, specially since I wear a 9 or 91/2 AA shoe, and I have always admired its quality, I also must say that the old shoe quality it is not the same as those I began to buy back in 1948 and for many years hence.

The "Made in USA" Imperial Como was better -
I have been wearing Imperial Comos for many years and always liked them. Now that they are made in India, the quality is simply not there (but I noticed that the price is still the same!).

Best Fit For Years -
The shoe fits very well and looks like the price paid for it. I have been a Florsheim Person for many years. This is a very good shoe. The only thing I have against it is the full leather lining. It make my feet sweat more than cloth, but that is the Imperial trait.
The service was great at Zappos and I would highly recommend.

Como Imperial -
This shoe looks very nice. The leather sole makes it extremely slippery, though. I added 1/2 non-slip sole and it was much better. Also, the elastic does not have much (if any) stretch

I've purchased more than ten of these shoes in the past ten years, so I obviously like this shoe. My main beef is that I've had to glue the gold gizmo and strap back onto nearly every shoe. I would prefer the gold gizmo simply be left off, so I wouldn't have to deal with it.

I like the leather bottoms of the Como and the high vamp with the elastic band underneath. It is taunt enough to stay on my feet. The D rubs the side my toes a bit too much. I was waiting for them to loosen up but they never did.

Classic, stylish shoe, however not a true EEE width for me. Sadly, I have to return

Leather used seemed like plastic. Hardware also looked cheap.

I would think that for the price I paid the soles would be stitched, not glued. The inside lining leaves something to be desired. They are comfortable and look great. I am afraid the quality is not what I expected.

I wasn't pleased with this product because the "mahogany" finish looked more like it was painted on rather than dye in the leather. Otherwise the shoes were fine. I have worn Florsheim shoes a lot over the years, and generally like them. This is the first pair I wasn't happy with.

I use this shoe as an everyday dress shoe. Positives are that it slips on easily from the first day and doesn't cause chafing or discomfort. It doesn't seem to have a "breaking in" phase. On the down side, that flexibility means it doesn't conform snugly to my foot, almost as if it is a size to big, but it isn't. On the whole, I will probably buy it again.

This is the second purchase of this shoe. The other pair has been good. The reason for my purchase of this shoe is that, it is the closest to my shoe size. I wear a 13 1/2, triple A, which is very hard to find. I used to get my shoes from the Wright Shoe Company which went out of business. I was pleased to get a discount on my recent purchase. I will continue to make purchases from Florsheim, even though my size is limited.

I wear these to work every day. I've had 2 pair for many years. Wear extremely well. Ordered two pair, same size as what I have, but one pair arrived too big/long - not wide. One pair fits, one feels too long.

I returned this product because it is not a comfortech. The advertisement was misleading though it was on sale. Also, the shoes are too narrow with hard, slippery soles. I'm waiting for the RIVA comfortech shoes as an exchange.

Would prefer real leather as in traditionally made shoes. Disappointed that I could not find any other style in size 14AA. Lace up shoe.
