First off, Zappos is wonderful! But . . . I wanted some slippers with a smooth sole for dancing on carpet, and ballet slippers fit the bill. I wear an 8½N but since I would be wearing sox, I chose a 9M. They were too short and too wide. Wonderful Zappos took them back, and I ordered a 9½N. The width was better, but the length is still quite short. I'll keep them and see if they stretch with wearing. Those are the reasons for the poor review.

I've done ballet for approximately 30 years, and got a pair of Daisys when my old beloved Capezio Juliets blew out at the sole seam. I'd forgotten how stiff (for a dancer) a full sole ballet slipper is. Dislike, too, that the elastic comes pre-attached, other than cutting it off and starting anew, there is no way you can get a customized fit. For non-ballet-dancers, they're probably good as a knockaround slipper indoors. Don't expect them to last more than a couple of months if you wear them on pavement, and there is absolutely no padding to them. There shouldn't be. They are a purpose-built shoe, and work well for dancers who need to flex against some resistance, but for everyone else, I'd suggest you keep looking.
I'd also recommend:
Wear Moi leather, Bloch Neo Hybrid, Capezio Juliet

What a disappointment. Seems Capezio isn't what it used to be! Looks like I'll need to find another brand of ballet slippers after wearing Capezio's for all my life.

Terrible shoe. I bought them for just around the house, I wear between a 9 1/2 and 10 and the biggest size they had was a 10 and my big toe was poking the top of the shoe, I got a med. width, and it was too wide. Returning.

Wow, I could smell this horrible plastic toxic smell before I even opened the package! These poor little ballet shoes are super duper cheap and they do not provide room for my big toe & I have Cinderella feet. Capezio should do a name change to Cheapezio...but Zappos, you are fabulous!

I used to wear Capezio dance flats. This model is nothing like them. They are cheap looking and go out of shape as soon as they are put on, and the leather feels as if it was sprayed on fabric.

Capezio Daisy - Rule of thumb for ballet shoe-fitting is to buy 2 sizes smaller than a street shoe. I wear an 8N. The width was perfect in the size 6 but the length was WAY too small. I'm exchanging for a size 7. Love the shoe, love the price, love the cute little daisy-printed fabric liner. Will keep trying until I get the perfect fit!
I'd also recommend:
Try the Bloch split soles in canvas--also a good price and fit.

I ordered a full size larger than my regular one but the shoe was still too small. I really liked it otherwise and will try again.
