The fit is typical Topo. I have many pairs of road and trail running shoes and (for the most part) they all fit the same - and these hikers are no different, which is a huge plus especially when ordering by mail as it's comforting to know that the sizing will be accurate.
The durability is not good. I have worn these approximately twice a week for the last two months on both dry and muddy trails, but nothing extreme. The sole is separating from the midsole on one boot and the upper is separating from the midsole on the other.
Like others commenting here, my expectation for a hiking boot is that it will last a couple of years, certainly more than a few months. Due to my experience, I look at these more as high-top running shoes vs hiking boots. They are too expensive to replace every few months. It's a shame because the comfort and fit is really good for me.

Love this boot but didn't last a year. I am a hiker and not a trail runner. Is my expectation out of wack here? The boots lost their stiffness to the point where once they were wonderful for my feet and now they hurt my feet. I don't use them anymore, not even for gardeniing. If this boot would last like a typical hiking boot should (2 to 3 years) then I would be sold.
Given what I just said I still am thinking about buying another pair (that's how good they initially felt on my feet) and spend the money every year. It does seem wasteful though. These boots have been sold out on Topo's website for months.

I have the previous model for about two years. I wear them for general activities as well as my bicycling shoes. I had to replace the insole immediately with a Currex biking insole because the one that it came with was unwearable. The glue on trim is now beginning to peal off so that's a bummer. The vibrum sole is holding up like they always do. If the insole was better it's a 5.

Super comfortable and have been happy with them until now. Walking through wet grass and one foot is dry the other is soaked and cold.

The comfort is outstanding. They are truly waterproof. But after five months, the soles are tearing away from the shoes.

I wear size 11.5 Merrell & Keen and these were also size 11.5. Having stated that, they felt a bit big, toes moved around alot. I did try a size 11 and my toes started hurting from shoes being too small (I have flat & narrow feet). The shoes themselves were comfortable and cushy, I use my shoes primarily for walking inside a warehouse, unfortunately they were not a good fit for me.
I'd also recommend:
My usual brands are Keen & Merrell

I would recommend except for waterproof aspect. They are so comfortable right out of the box and have stayed that way for a couple months at a couple hundred miles in dry weather. But I need them to be waterproof for an upcoming trek. Do you have a recommendation for something to apply that will make them waterproof? I tested in the rain including puddles just above the top of the sole and splashing along the laces. I stopped after a few minutes when toe area on one foot got wet.

The full length rock plate, added stack height combined with he zip foam give an excellent balance of cushion, stability, protection and energy return. Despite the above improvements that allows for improved torsional stability and comfort the outsole is sufficiently flexible allowing for a very easy and natural gait. The quality of the upper and the overall shoe is noticeably improved over the prior version. So why only 3 stars, Quality Control (QC)! A section of orange insert between the midsole and the outsole on the left boot was not completely glued down to the midsole and easily spread apart with light finger pressure. I put some E6000 glue into the opening, allowed to dry and it is still holding several weeks later. The Event bootie and inner liner on the right shoe is sagging excessively giving the wearer a feeling similar to a bunched up sock in the toe box, annoying. I'm really glad the company listened to its users because this really is a first class design! Used for hiking, walking and every day use on or off the beaten path. I have not found a design on the market that offers, in my opinion, such a well rounded balance of stability from uneven terrain, under foot protection from rocks and roots, comfort and energy return. Now, all that is needed is quality consistency, especially when you consider the price. Highly recommend, especially if you get a pair that is properly assembled.

Ordered half a size larger than my Altra Lone Peak 6. Shoe felt tight with the same socks. I think this is mainly because the waterproof layer is located on the inside of the shoe, which makes it very small.
Suspect that if I order an even larger size, it may feel better in width, but will still be too short in length.
Will look for another shoe.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Fit was ok. The shoes squeaked badly. Don’t feel awesome at all. They look like clown shoes. I returned them.

I wanted to like them the shoe and toe box felt great, the Brick and Mortar retailer are first class "The Desert Rat" in St George Utah! This shoe has a serious issue with a protrusion that is on the heel that rubs against the Achilles out of the box. I would recommend the brand and the shoe if that part is removed or fixed.

Ordered size larger than my normal 12 and found the shoe to have inadequate volume, width and length. Company does not make a wide version in my size.

My TOPO boots lasted less than 12 months. However, they were extremely comfortable.! but for the price I would've expected them to last a few years.

I used these topos for doing multi-day treks. At 100 miles in, the side creases cracked and opened up, hence the debris such as dust, sand and small rocks would get stuck between the inner and outer shells. At 300 miles, the shoe has lost the cushioning and all the rocks could be felt despite a rock plate underneath. Given the huge price these sell for - my advice is - DO NOT buy these for long distance treks. Only buy for casual walks/hikes on well-maintained trails.

They fit great but I bought these for their waterproofing and in less than a year, they are no longer waterproof. Both boots failed in the same area around the ball of my foot where the boot bends and water gets in from wet grass.

I had high hopes for these boots. I have used and continue to use Topo trail running shoes with no issues. The waterproof Trailventure 2 WP boots however have been disappointing. My first pair went a year without leaking then fell apart (basically flooded my feet during a rainy backpacking trip). I purchased a second pair before my first pair failed (thinking that the design or features would change). Now I have another failed pair of Terraventure 2 WP boots. One boot leaked the first winter of use. Year 2 and both boots leaks and have multiple points where the sole and toe seal have separated.

Wore these everywhere for 3 days. First day: impressed with the comfort. Second day, started to notice discomfort in my ankles and heels ( i have plantar fasciitis with bone spurs, so this isn't that unusual); but by day 3 the pain became pretty severe. i realized it could be the shoes, so went back to my old shoes, and over the next 3 days the pain went back away. The TPU heel counter goes PART way under Your heel, but not under the whole, so it's uneven support aggravated my bone spurs.

Mainly walking the dog on trails, grass and pavement.
After less than a year of ownership and NOT being overly hard on them the seams came apart so that now they soak my feet in water. Not durable as I would have hoped.

I bought my 75 year old father 2 pairs of these now and they have both pealed at the seams . He doesn't hike or do anything but walk in them. He thinks they are incredibly comfortable it but the quality isn't good for the price. It would be nice if you lowered your price to match the quality .

I bought these because they were comfortable and most importantly lightweight. Unfortunately, they are not durable. I have worn these on only 4 hiking trips(most recently Mt Whitney)....maybe put 80 miles on them at the most. The tread on both boots in the same spot has either fallen off or is falling off. I don't think these are built well enough for serious hiking endeavors. In fairness to TOPO these problems may have been addressed in these WP versions, my review Is for the non WP version.

Pros: They fit great, with a nice wide toe box and cushy ride. Waterproofing works great (at first).
Cons: Very aggressive toe spring that adds up to soreness on long hikes.
After only about 40 miles of hiking the sole came unglued from the upper at the bend in the ball of my foot so water now seeps in.

I got these Trailventures for my new winter boot. I love how lightweight and roomy they are, HOWEVER there is water seeping in between the mid and upper. I would exchange them but I fear I will receive another leaky pair so I'll try sealing them with shoe goo. Also, the ankle support is not the most comfy. I mostly wanted the mid to keep out snow so that issue doesn't bother me much. I upgraded the laces too since the stock ones came undone easily. The lacing system is cumbersome. I think they will serve my needs but there is a lot of room for improvement.

Anytime I hiking, with or without a pack I use them. The fit is great! However, the sole delaminated pretty quickly because of a design flaw which is the strange channel that separates a tiny strip of rubber sole on the inside front from the rest of the sole. Clearly it's going to fail with any use, which mine did.

I bought two pairs of the Trailventure 2 WP.
SUMMARY: Great grip, light weight, very comfortable (except for toe strike). Aside from two issues related to the toe area, these are an almost perfect shoe.
The toe issue would prevent me from buying them again unless purchased from a store with a liberal return policy.
THE GOOD: The tread has a fantastic grip , and the shoe is VERY comfortable on flats areas and uphills. The midtop, waterproof feature made this my preferred winter hiking shoe - until the toe strike issue noted below became evident.
THE BAD: 1) Delamination of Toe Cover - My first pair delaminated at the top of the rubber toe cover within the first two hikes. Lickily, I also had a slight blister problem in the heel (using Leuko tape solved that, so not a big concern).
2) Toe Strike on Downhills - I decided to give the shoe a second try because I really did like the shoe. The first two hikes with the second pair had extreme downhill sections and toe strike became a serious issue. I normally wear a size 11 and picked a size 11 TOPO - the person fitting me at the store measured both of my feet (between 10.5 and 11) and said that Topos can have a toe strike issue, and said to consider sizing up. But after trying on the shoe, walking on the incline at the store, and factoring in the heel blister issue with the previous shoe, the concern was that another 1/2 size up would exaggerate the blister issue so we stayed with an 11.
I did reach out to Topo (they have a return policy that states if you try the shoe and don't like it, you can return within 30 days). I was within the 30 day window but because I did not buy from their website - they simply offered a 20% off coupon - a nice gesture but honestly, you can find the shoe on sale from more than 20% off on occasion.
This is a great shoe if you can get the sizing right, but the fit issues are just too risky for me to try a third pair. As it stands, I spent almost $200 on a hiking shoe that I really can't use for hiking.
