The first time I put on there was no break in period. Was comfortable and roomy.

My husband really like these boots. This was a new brand for him, and he was a little uncertain about them, but he loves them! He can walk for hours, and he says, "My feet don't hurt!".

These were recommended after I gave up on Altra's due to their poor durability. One of the best boots for older feet with arthritis. They are very comfortable, fit well with the wide toe box, and, so far, have been very durable. I am using them for winter activities of hiking, snow-showing, and fat-tire biking. They have kept my feet dry and also warm even down to 0 F., as long as I am moving. I think they will be too warm for summer use, so may look at the non WP version for warmer weather use.

I've tried a lot of low drop hikers... Merrell, Astral and Altra over 10 yrs. These are by far the best I've worn out of the box. While, I've yet to take them on the trail, I can already tell these are going to be amazing. The large toe box allows for splay, but as opposed to other brands, my foot seems to also stay in place and not float around. The Vibram Megagrip is incredible. While I normally choose a zero drop, the 5mm is barely noticeable. Then there is the comfort. Wow! Love these boots!

These are really, really comfortable and great in the wetter weather. Like the colorful funky look. I tend to always like shoes with Vibram soles, and I've come to prefer a wider area for the toes, which these have. Would definitely check out other models from this company.

The Trailventure 2 is a great update to the original version. The upper is improved and everything else about the boot is great - good fit, nice midsole, and grippy outsole.

I purchased my trailventure 2WP's at an outdoor shop in Black Mountain NC. Wore them on my first hike today. The boots worked out great. I love the wider toe box and the insoles fit my feet well. The shoe features a good balance between cushioning and stability with plenty of ankle support. I wear a 13 wide, and struggle to find shoes that fit. These Topo's have enough room that my forefoot does not feel cramped at the end of the day.

These are the most comfortable and most useful hiking boots I have ever worn. Can leave them on all day and I still don't want to take them off at the end of the evening. This shoe is the right capture of the best concepts from the minimalist community and the more traditional.

These Topo walking boots are the best, wide toe box but narrow heel. The WP version are waterproof but can't vouch for that yet due to drought. One small point for the TOPO people, if you put an extra tie hook at the top of the lacing (they did), you really have to use a longer shoe lace or it's too short (it is)! Love these.

I really wanted to love these and was looking forward to the classic Topos fit in a light hiker. Using them for short day hikes is fine - but a 12 mile day hike in the Sierras put them through the paces and they came up short.
1. The Gortex liner is sort of like an extra sock - it's loose and bunches up which creates problem #2...
2. The toe box is wide enough - but the height of the toe box made my toes feel crammed for hiking especially on rough terrain, long decents, etc.
TOPOS - PLEASE FIX THE GORTEX SOCK LINER AND TOE BOX AND PLEASE OFFER THESE IN WIDE!
There's a ton of potential in this short boot - an added plus would be making the rock plate stiffer. This isn't a running shoe - it's a light hiker and misses on the key differentiators that will help it go the distance. Not hard fixes!

I use these for walks with my dog where she is off leash and we're on trails or in the woods. These would be almost perfect if it wasn't for the bunion on my right foot where the 1st lace loop hardware presses on it. It's very painful. I've loosened the laces there and wear thick socks which help some but I'm not sure I can make these work.

Pros: Love the comfort, the style, the toebox room, the light weight!
Con: Lacks durability. I am on my third or fourth pair because I love them however that is only been a few years. Probably about a pair per year and by the end they are cracked at the fluctuation points, not waterproof at all and the sole start coming off at the toe.

I've ran trail and road in a few pairs of Topos at this point. This was my first venture into a "hiking" boot. Here are the main highlights: 1) even with the WP liner, stayed true to size (which is a huge kudos to Topo across its shoes in general); 2) absolutely LOVE the hook-lock lacing system; 3) Great traction; 4) great laces that stay tied (funny how many laces don't). BUT, I'm wrestling with breathability at 60-70 degrees F. Might need to relegate these to Winter only.

Recently purchased Trailventure for my Mt. Whitney hike. I have several pairs of Topo's (Phantom, Ultraventure, & Terraventure). I typically wear a size 10, but went up to a 10.5 for the Trailventures to accommodate hiking socks. Love the lace locking feature. Never had to adjust the laces during the ~24 mile hike. The few times I got the boots wet, my feet stayed dry. One small blister occurred at ~18 mile mark on my big toe. Seemed to rub on an interior piece. Better insoles would be nice.

I'm previously a Altra Olympus 5 wearer, but developed severe plantar fasciitis due to zero drop, requiring surgery. I love the wide toe box and with inserts my heel stays locked in place. My only suggestion is to make a non-waterproof version as they don't breathe well, making my feet sweat and may lead to blisters.

its a nice boots comfortable ,roomy, but the only bad, is the only bad design is the last 2 hooks for the shoe lace sometimes comes out the shoelace and it trips you because it gets the opposite boots's hooks, and I can be fatal. on the video where the CEO explains the boots it shows the white one and it looks that has rings the last 2 instead of the hooks,I think is better design for the shoelace and more secure .Hopefully they change that for the next boot.
