I have to give this item a very low rating. It fit perfectly when it arrived and after one washing in cold water and dried on regular I can no longer wear it.

I purchased the black watch plaid flannel shirt and was pleased when it came back in stock. This is the third flannel shirt I have purchased from LL Bean. The first two are fine, this one is very poor quality material. I washed it once and it came out a mess with every piece of lint sticking to it and pilled. I tried washing it for a second time, same thing. I could never wear the shirt in public, looks awful, even after trying a lint brush. Sio disappointed in LL Bean for accepting this kind of quality.

I purchased the black watch flannel shirt and I have worn it 2 times and on both sleeves where you lay your arms on your desk or counter it has fuzz balls (pilling). I would think a shirt this expensive would not do this being so new!

This shirt in Angus color showed it to be bright with emphasis on purple. It is 5 shades darker and doesn't even look like the pic. It also has sleeves so long it could fit a gorilla,

Color not at all as pictured, very dull dark blue and red stripes. Not even bothering to unwrap or try on so I cannot attest to fit.

I bought and returned 3 of them. The plaid was mismatched on all 3 of them...front, sides, back yoke. Very disappointing. If you are wearing it under something and only the collar showed it would probably be fine for that.

wow, what is the story with the shedding and pilllings on this shirt? I have recently purchased several of the other LLB flannel shirt models. They are fine and hold up well. It is only this one that has the profuse shedding of fabrics and pillings into little balls on the remaining fabric. I washed it 3 times the same way I wash the others, and each time got worse and more funky-looking pilled fabric. Was there no quality control done on this model's fabric? I've been happy with my other LLB flannel purchases. But this one is a no-keep because of the shedding and pilling. thank you

I wore the shirt and washed as directed. Upon washing, the shirt came out all fuzzy. It was obviously made with an inexpensive fabric. A short staple fiber. This is not what I would expect from a $50 shirt. I am very disappointed in this purchase.

Shirt washed twice, but even after the first washing it was very apparent the fabric had pilled. Bought the Gordon pattern and now the colors looked mottled due to all the black pilling on the shirt. It's on the pile of clothing going to a charity. Will not purchase another flannel shirt from Bean. Their quality control has fallen in the last couple of years. Very disappointing.

I purchased the Dress Gordon flannel shirt about a year or so ago and it was the perfect flannel shirt however I recently purchased the Black Watch flannel shirt and it was the exact opposite. It pilled badly after the first wash and looked like and old well worn shirt. It didn't have any body to it. The first one I purchased still looks brand new. I hope they correct the problem but how would one know unless they stated it on their website. I plan on returning it. Very disappointing.

I had high hopes for this flannel shirt. I ordered it in the black watch pattern. I couldn't be more disappointed. After the first wash it came out of the dryer looking pilled and like I've owned it for years. The shirt is going back. Very poor quality, especially for LLBean.

When are you going to create neck sizes that are proportional to the rest of the body? I ordered a Women's M Petite. The neck size is 18 inches. That is the size of the Men's XL. 18 inches is the neck size of a football linebacker. When its cold I like to button the top button. Buttoning the top button on this shirt will not protect me from the cold air going down through the neck opening. I wish other women would complain about this. I have been complaining about this for years without any changes.

I would have loved this shirt if it weren't for what happened on the first wash. OH. MY. FUZZ. Everywhere. Totally coated the inside of the washer (what hadn't clogged the tubes on the rinse cycle). It's like half the material of the shirt was left in the washer after that first wash. Not what I'd expect from LL Bean! Boo.

I purchased two of these shirts as a Christmas gift. Although the price was very reasonable due to sale/discounts, I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the shirts. The flannel was extremely thin. It was of a quality you might find in a cheap discount store...certainly not something I have become accustomed to getting from LL Bean. In all fairness, the return was simple and painless. Still, I had to scramble to find a replacement gift!

This is not my first flannel shirt from LLBean, but it is the first one where the fabric is itchy, definitely not the expected warm, cuddly flannel. It feels like I'm wearing fuzzy wrapping paper. Perhaps it is the extra dark dyes to create the Black Watch pattern, I don't know. What I do know is that the shirt is unwearable. As this shirt has been washed (in an unsuccessful effort to soften it), I am unable to return it, so I will probably donate it to a local Thrift Shop.

This was just delivered today.. It has a very strange cut, it's short in the arms and huuuuge in the actual body area. It's not very comfortable at all. Probably going to return or exchange. Was really looking forward to a new flannel :/

We have purchased the Scotch plaid flannel shirts from LLBean for years for my husband who wears flannel every day. I decided to buy a shirt for myself. The fabric seems thin, and after laundering I noticed a hole, about 1" in size, near where the collar joins the shirt. The sewing had been done poorly. Instead of going through the hassle of returning, I repaired the hole. The fabric also seems to be pilling. I'm very disappointed.

This shirt, although well-made is seemingly designed for someone with a huge gut. This shirt bulges out at the bottom, which can happen to poor quality shirts/sweaters over time. I did not expect this new, higher-quality shirt to flare out like this. I am not overweight and the flaring in the lower half gives the appearance of having a large mid section. I expected this shirt to be straight, not flared or fitted. I will now have to exchange for a fitted version at my expense for shipping. I am very disappointed as LL Bean has a good reputation but I now do not trust the company and will not order from them again.

Stripes do not line up. This is very noticeable all down the sides. The flannel is soft and seems very nice; however, I can't get past the workmanship.

I ordered two of these last year 2017. Within a few wearings both had bad pilling on the underside of the sleeves and eventually on the fronts. Not good quality.

This is definitely not the same quality of fabric as previously purchased. Several years ago I purchased this flannel shirt in the Prince Charles Edward pattern and I loved it. Everything was great: the fabric, how it looked after laundering, the comfort, etc. This past year I have lost over 60 lbs and wanted to replace the size L for a size S. I read some of the negative reviews before ordering a replacement and a fair number of them mentioned the pilling after laundering, but thought that since the original Large had been a great success I would have equal success with a smaller replacement. Boy, was I wrong! As soon as I took the shirt out of the plastic bag and felt the fabric, I had my doubts. But I wanted to be fair, so I tried it and laundered it twice. Everything about the shirt is great (color, plaid matches up, size) except how it comes out of the dryer with pilling all over. Oh, how I wanted it to work out, but just don't want to take the time after every laundering it to shave or pick off the pilling. So as much as I don't want to do so, I will send it back, ask for a refund, and keep the old, too-large-now shirt.

In the past I've had no problem with the quality of any of the flannel shirts I've gotten before. But the sides and sleeves did not match up properly with design of the front of the shirt . Bad sewing and more of an eye sore . Looked too dizzy

Washed in cold water and air dryer, but shrunk and pilled!!! Not the quality you expect for this kind of money. I'm sick and tired if prices going way up and quality going down!
