The shirt initially appeared as expected but after wearing and washing just twice I have serious concerns about the quality of this item. I followed all laundering instructions on the tag and cut short the drying time to air dry. Yet, the 3X shirt still seemed to shrink and both times I wore it I was concerned with the straining of the bust buttons. The flannel has seriously pilled and appears old and worn, completely unexpected after two short wears.

Fabric quality very disappointing. I purchased Bean of Freeport Cream. After 4th wash I noticed a few fabric pills. After 5rh wash entire shirt covered with pilling. Compared to Gap flannel shirts which were half the price (sale) of the LL Bean shirt Gap's were far superior in quality.

Soft, comfortable & fits well. Warmth without too much bulk.

I bought this 3 months ago because it is just the cutest pattern. And sadly, it'll get tossed at the end of the season rather than kept for next year. It is thin, which I thought would be fine. But then it pilled terribly and shrunk up and out. If I wear a vest, I can hide the fact my layered long-sleeve shirt underneath is so much longer. I'm used to flannels pilling after a few years but this is by far the worst one I have and is by far the 'youngest'. I bought 2 different patterns. Same story for both. I'm glad I returned that third one.

The women's royal red scotch plaid flannel shirt pilled and shrank after two washings! The shirts from past years have held up beautifully but the 2024 fabrics have been a big disappointment. We depend on LL Bean to offer quality first.

I've been buying these flannel shirts for many years - live in them through the winter. But the latest incarnation is much thinner flannel and the craftsmanship is well below usual LL Bean standards. I returned the latest because it was so thin and the bottom of the pocket wasn't completely stitched. I'm very disappointed because I need to replace the shirts I've worn out over the years.

I returned this item. The cuffs of the sleeves were stiff with some sort of lining and a long placket with excess buttons, making it awkward for rolling up the sleeves. The collar was also stiff. I laundered and ironed the shirt, using a small brush to remove pilling from the fabric. While this worked to soften the body of the shirt, it did not help with rolling up the cuffs.

Washed before I wore it according to wash instructions, like everything I do, and am very disappointed with this shirt. Terrible material, it pilled and looks like something I have owned for 10 years! I am returning it to the store when I am in the area next week.

I've been buying this style of shirt for years. Prior to this purchase, the side seams were matched or close to matched. This one seems as if LL Bean didn't even try. Nice quality but if the mismatch will bother you as it does me, you might want to pass. I'm returning the shirt.

I ordered a medium in the Antique Buchanan, which is a lovely fabric and patten. I've been ordering and wearing size medium scotch plaid flannel shirts from Bean for YEARS and have loved them. Sadly, the quality is nowhere near what it was. I washed the shirt in cold water and dried on low heat, according to the instructions. The shirt lost almost 5 inches in length and probably 3 to 4 inches in width, rendering a size M regular into about a Petite Small

I had my eye on the Washed Buchanan plaid since last year. It sold out in my size last year so I was delighted to see it back this year. I ordered 3 different tee shirts in different colors to find one to wear with it. I was so disappointed to put it on and find that the plaid on the yoke and back do not match. To me that is a deal breaker--it makes it look cheap and like fast fashion. The plaid just needed to be moved over a couple inches and it would have matched up. The plaid itself is a beautiful color and the fit was fine.

I bought this shirt in Royal Culloden which is a gorgeous color way. I'm 5'1" and typically wear petite sizing when available. When my shirt arrived in petite it was so, so short. I reordered in regular length, wore the shirt a few times and it has since shrunk to the point that it's laughably too short at the sleeves. I've washed on cold and, dried in the dryer once (other washes were air dried) and the shirt is ruined. I'm 5'1"--shirts are never too short for me.

The shirt seems okay. We had an awful customer service issue. It seems as if customer service at LL Bean is focused on squeezing every last penny out of the customer instead of resolving the issue.

I wanted to love this shirt. I like the color so much. I love that it came in a Petite. The problem is it has been laundered three times and it looks like it is years old. Looked faded out the first wash. So disappointed in the quality of this fabric. Maybe I got a bad dye lot, I don't know but this is not what I expect from LLBean.

Disappointed in the quality. The flannel pilled and became rough after only a few wears (nothing strenuous, just walking my dog - see the fur in the photo). I could overlook this, but then the seam in the back shoulder panel tore after less than three months. It's probably something easy to fix if you know how to sew, but I don't think LL Bean clothes should need repaired like this.

This year's women's flannel shirts are not like those of past years. The flannel is much lighter in weight and begins to "pill" with the first washing. I've worn LL Bean flannel shirts for years but returned this year's offering. In my estimation, it is inferior to shirts of past years.

Runs small. I have other flannel shirts in size XL womens and they fit fine. This one is too small. I washed in cold water, gentle cycle, dried on low heat, as directed. It shrunk and is not wearable. I'd like my money back.

Disappointed quality. Cut corners; made cheap. Shirt from about 4 years ago is comfy, perfect fit (large), perfect cut and plenty of buttons. This new flannel shirt is big, cut back on BUTTONS, so there are big gaps, and my chestvis exposed if dont button the top button. Ugh. Why do companies change products that people love? Make cheaper buy price still same well now increasing. Im done with llbean flannel shirts.

Very pretty plaid, terrible quality fabric. The fabric pilled on the 2nd washing, like a cheap set of sheets. I am beyond disappointed and have bought many, many flannel items from LL Bean over the past 40 years. I hate to see the quality go so downhill.

I bought this shirt in November of 2022 (it arrived November 15, 2022) - just over 1 year ago. In mid-December I discovered a tear at one of the elbows. I wear it once or twice a week in the Winter months (I live in Massachusetts, so this is mostly Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar), so if I wore it 2x a week (estimating on the high side of 1-2x a week) that would be around 36 wears between arrival and the end of March of 2022. And another 6-8 wears in Nov and Dec of 2023 for a total of maybe 44 wears. Let's even round up to 50. I feel like an LLBean product like this - what I thought was a quality flannel shirt, would last years, not a mere 13 months! I brought it back to the store and they would not replace, saying that it was normal wear and tear. Wearing 1-2 times a week over a 7-8 month period is normal, and that the shirt should not get a large hole that quickly. Sadly, this may signal the the end of relying LLBean for quality merchandise.

Very happy with the fit and feel of these shirts but unfortunately the material didn't hold up. Signs of wear on usual places within a year then the elbows tore after 2 years. All 3 shirts that I purchased failed. IMO, unacceptable quality for the cost of these shirts. I have lots of worn flannels I still use for gardening and camping and none have failed at the elbow.
