Disappointed in the quality. The flannel pilled and became rough after only a few wears (nothing strenuous, just walking my dog - see the fur in the photo). I could overlook this, but then the seam in the back shoulder panel tore after less than three months. It's probably something easy to fix if you know how to sew, but I don't think LL Bean clothes should need repaired like this.

This year's women's flannel shirts are not like those of past years. The flannel is much lighter in weight and begins to "pill" with the first washing. I've worn LL Bean flannel shirts for years but returned this year's offering. In my estimation, it is inferior to shirts of past years.

Runs small. I have other flannel shirts in size XL womens and they fit fine. This one is too small. I washed in cold water, gentle cycle, dried on low heat, as directed. It shrunk and is not wearable. I'd like my money back.

Disappointed quality. Cut corners; made cheap. Shirt from about 4 years ago is comfy, perfect fit (large), perfect cut and plenty of buttons. This new flannel shirt is big, cut back on BUTTONS, so there are big gaps, and my chestvis exposed if dont button the top button. Ugh. Why do companies change products that people love? Make cheaper buy price still same well now increasing. Im done with llbean flannel shirts.

Very pretty plaid, terrible quality fabric. The fabric pilled on the 2nd washing, like a cheap set of sheets. I am beyond disappointed and have bought many, many flannel items from LL Bean over the past 40 years. I hate to see the quality go so downhill.

I bought this shirt in November of 2022 (it arrived November 15, 2022) - just over 1 year ago. In mid-December I discovered a tear at one of the elbows. I wear it once or twice a week in the Winter months (I live in Massachusetts, so this is mostly Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar), so if I wore it 2x a week (estimating on the high side of 1-2x a week) that would be around 36 wears between arrival and the end of March of 2022. And another 6-8 wears in Nov and Dec of 2023 for a total of maybe 44 wears. Let's even round up to 50. I feel like an LLBean product like this - what I thought was a quality flannel shirt, would last years, not a mere 13 months! I brought it back to the store and they would not replace, saying that it was normal wear and tear. Wearing 1-2 times a week over a 7-8 month period is normal, and that the shirt should not get a large hole that quickly. Sadly, this may signal the the end of relying LLBean for quality merchandise.

Very happy with the fit and feel of these shirts but unfortunately the material didn't hold up. Signs of wear on usual places within a year then the elbows tore after 2 years. All 3 shirts that I purchased failed. IMO, unacceptable quality for the cost of these shirts. I have lots of worn flannels I still use for gardening and camping and none have failed at the elbow.

I bought this last month. I usually love your plaids, but the fabric seems to be less substantial and the button placement does not work. The shirt pulls across the chest in the wrong place and if you want to keep the cold from going down your neck when you bend down. Good luck. There is no top button. Go back to the old button placement.

Warm and cozy. Laundered well. Ordered a regular tho technically a petite as I find that all flannel shirts, regardless of brand, tend to shrink eventually. Is a bit big right now but I'm ok with that. Would recommend.

I bought a size larger than usual so I could layer this shirt. But there are only 5 buttons, not seven as in my older flannel, quality made shirts. The shirt gaped at the bust even without an under layer. LL Bean, you cheaped out and I sent it back.

Stitching coming apart new out of package and they are huge over sized. So disappointed in LLBean. Not what they used to be. Sadly this will be my last purchase. You pay a premium for their items and I feel it is not worth it.

I was so excited to receive my new flannel. It's probably the first time I've ever been disappointed with a purchase from LLBean. The material was very thin and felt cheap. It was boxy and short for me personally. On the positive side, I love the color and the fact that it has a hood.

I like the cut and color of the shirt. I gave it one star because it pills after laundry and leaves lint on everything you wear with it.

The description says it can be machine washed and dried. NO, WRONG. My shir fit perfectly when I got it. I washed and dried it once, it was tighter but still wearable. okay, a little shrinkage is tolerable. After the second washing, I could still button it, but too tight to wear and the sleeves were 2 inches shorter.

I love the color and print of this plaid, but unfortunately the shirt itself isn't viable long term. The first wear was brilliant and felt great. By the second wear it was a little tight. By the third wear it's nearly unusable because it has shrunk so much. I even sized up one size to account for the shirt being 100% cotton. It's disappointing because I'm very, very short. I can't imagine how anyone actually wears this. It's also a heavy cotton flannel cloth. I feel like the drape would be better if it was a little less weighty.

Loved the fabric and well made. Fit nicely except the shirt was the longest I have ever experienced! I couldn't even bunch all this extra length into pants. Suppose I'll have to wear as an over shirt or light jacket. Way too long to wear as a shirt. So disappointed in this flaw!! Unless you are 6 ft tall I would NOT recommend buying these.

I only give this a 1 star because when it arrived it smelled like it had been in an old attic for years. Mold/Mildew scent was beyond bearable. The plaid is beautiful and it is soft, but I cannot keep this and fear ordering another.

looked great out of the package, but washed it to wear and it looked terrible. as other reviewers noted: pilled, crumpled, needed ironing; poor fabric quality for the price. As a textile technologist and former Manager of Quality Control and Testing - i am very disappointed by this product

I purchased three of these shirts, and all three pilled after the first wash, and pilled even more after the second. They also look rumpled, like they need to be ironed. I ordered them in Tall, even though I am not tall because LL Bean's sleeves always end up being too short for me over time. (I always dry on low heat, and use the less dry option.) My husband still wears the LL Bean flannel shirts that I bought him 20 years ago. He wears them every day in the fall and winter and they all still look great, unlike these after two washings. I don't mind paying for quality, but sadly, this is no longer it. Very disappointing.
