Very disappointed with LL BEAN and this item. The flannel felt thin and I ordered a women's 1X and it ran like a Large.

Love that the petite size fits.. L.L. shirts in petite are the only ones that have sleeves that are short enough for me. Was really thrilled when I got the shirt, but wasn't until I was wearing it that I realized the design lacks a button to keep collar in place. Can either button all the way up to stay warm, or the next button down, situated across from the pocket, leaves too much room for cold air and 'wardrobe malfunctions'. Very odd - the goal of a flannel shirt is not to expose as much skin as possible... quite the opposite actually. The pictures above are deceiving, you can tell that some must be previous models with that crucial button to keep collar in place, while other do not. Imagine that really none do this season but worth checking with customer service or in a store if you live near one.

I am really disappointed with the change in style. The button-down collar AND POCKET were selling points for me. These are way better than sweaters during colder weather. Others have commented that the patterns don't line up ... shame on you LLBean. Your products have always excelled in quality. These two facts are sufficient to keep me from ordering one this year.

I don't think that it is in the customer's best interest to leave reviews for a previous model of an item. When LL Bean decides to update or change a product, they should delete the previous reviews and inform the customers of the changes in the product description. I have been buying these shirts for many years and didn't realize that the design had changed until I tried it on.

BRING BACK THE OLD MODEL!!! You know, the ones that are sold out with the button down collars. These new ones look dorky and old-lady-like. the top button is in the wrong place, especially under sweaters. The flat collar is just WRONG for this shirt style and cut. Please Bean, hear me - bring back the old style!

The Scotch plaid shirt that I ordered fit well and the material was soft, however, the plaid was not matched on the sides. This made the shirt look poorly made and I am returning it. Very disappointed in the quality of construction of this product. Not up to L.L. Bean's usual standards.

I really like the relaxed, roomy fit of this shirt. For the people looking for a shirt with princess seams, I believe that was (is?) a different item entirely - as it should be. :) Relaxed fit for some people, slightly fitted for others. My complaint is with the cuff plackets. They are constructed in such a way that even if you turn the cuff up twice, it falls down. I don't think I can live with this.

Have bought several of these flannel shirts in the past. Now they have no button down collor and princess seams. They run huge! I used to buy a 1X (even though I am a Large/X-large petite) so there would be extra room to layer with. Well, you don't need a size 1X to layer with any longer. It is 2-3X sizes too big. I do like the color Wallace however but my what a big disappointment! I returned this shirt for a refund sadly.

Contrary to other reviews these shirts pill! I have worn mine five times. The underside of the sleeves are already pilling. Disappointed!

I had ordered the Black Stewart pattern. The fabric seemed a little thin for flannel, but the stitching seemed well. While the plaid pattern aligned well on the shirt front and the pocket on the shirt front, it did not match on the sides or back yoke at all. Ironically, the back yoke plaid pattern lined up perfectly with the back on the inside of the shirt. From the price perspective, I expected better. As an important point for a Scotch Plaid shirt is the plaid pattern itself, due to the plaid pattern not matching on most (sides, sleeves, back yoke) of the shirt, I would not feel comfortable wearing it in public. Returning the item.

The fabric quality is not standing up to my expectations. The right sleeve has a worn out, threadbare area and there is a hole. I had this shirt 2 years, and this is not acceptable. I've been wearing some of my other shirts a lot longer and this has never happened before. I'm not usually hard on my clothes. Very disappointed to say the least. I got the same shirt for my husband (the men's version) and his is fine. He's been wearing his shirt more often, so his shirt should be more worn out but it's not. I think there must be something wrong with the fabric quality in my shirt.

LL Bean must have changed the design of this shirt within the past 2 years and this new version is not what I would expect from this company. I bought this same style plaid in XS about 2 years ago and it fit as expected and has held up beautifully. For reference I'm 5'2 and weight 115 lbs. This year I also ordered the XS but it was so narrow in the shoulders it was uncomfortable and tight and I am not a broad shouldered person. The strange thing is that although it was narrow in the shoulders it was wide and tent-like everywhere else! Additionally the flannel felt thinner in comparison to my other shirt... Needless to say I sent this one back and unfortunately am hesitant to order another one which is a shame because it has become difficult to find quality flannel shirts these days. I really hope the shirt I got was just a lemon because I love the older plaid flannel I have from LL Bean!

I am 5'4'', 130lbs. The small was not flattering at all, it was huge. Probably could have gone down to XXS but then the buttons would pull at the bust. Although the fabric and coloring/pattern was lovely, I had to return this shirt even though I really wanted it to work.

This was huge on me all over and very boxy. I ordered the XS and in many brands I wear XS or S. It was my first time ordering through LL Bean so I am not familiar with their sizing. The material was lovely but the shape was boxy and unflattering. I ended up exchanging for the semifitted version in an XXS in hopes it will fit more properly. On the bright side the customer service was amazing and my exchange was very simple.

I ordered 3 shirts. The Black Watch and The Navy Tartan are great. I don't know what went wrong with the Stewart Victoria. It doesn't look like the picture or any other Stewart Victoria I have. It looks like a horse blanket and not a cute one. This shirt stays on the farm.

I adore plaid and have been delighted to see it come back into style after well over a decade of not seeing it around much at all. These shirts are very pretty and I ordered one. planning to order another if the first one turned out well. Nice fabric, nice fit, but the side seam plaids do not match. Now it is definitely cheaper to make a garment when you don't bother to match plaids, but that is how it looks -- cheap. I do not wear plaids that do not match, not even in pajamas, and so regretfully I returned it. Actually, I was quite surprised. I am used to thinking of L L Bean as standing for quality workmanship as well as good fabric. Fortunately the very decent return policy means I did not have any problem retuning this shirt.

The colors and fabric of this shirt are great. I returned it, though, because the hem rolled up. I could iron it flat, but who wants to iron a flannel shirt? And when I ironed it, the bottom flared out, which was unattractive.

I bought this to wear for the holidays, and the fabric was far inferior to what I expect from my LLBean products. I followed the laundering instructions, but the shirt was wrinkley beyond what an iron could fix. Also, the surface texture was overly fuzzy and mottled, which ruined the lovely shades of the plaid. I don't feel it's worth paying the money to return.

I loved these flannel shirts but they were poorly made. One arm would not fit in a sleeve. Another sleeve my arm would fit in but the sleeve was so small I couldn't bend my elbow.

I always purchase petite but this is the first time I've had one so short and cut so slim when it's advertised as relaxed fit.

Took the shirt out of the bag, held it up to the daylight and I could see through it due to it's very thin fabric. That's it! Back in the bag for return. I purchase these flannels for warmth as I live in NW Wisconsin and this was the 4th scotch plaid I have returned in the last few months due to the thin fabric. I am DONE with this product, my time, energy and money will not be wasted on thin flannel, and, the Navy Stewart color in person was unattractive in my opinion. Hello, LLB, hope you're reading this! My scotch plaid flannels from years ago are a heavier weight and I cannot see through it! However, some shrinkage and pilling has happened. I'm exhausted from all the return shipping and customer service calls, and, of course men's flannels are the same thin fabric. I gave it 1 star because it arrived.

Not the quality of previous flannel shirts. Runs smaller, pills after one wash, and shrank a whole size even though I washed according to label. Returning!

This shirt fit great until I washed it! I followed all laundering instructions and now it's a midriff and the sleeves are two inches too short.
