I've wanted a flannel shirt for years and finally decided to invest in a quality, thick shirt for the occasional times I'd wear one. I only wore this twice and washed once per instructions. It already shows signs of pilling so I'm returning. It looks too sloppy to wear out of the house. I checked reviews and see I'm not the only one with this problem. It's even so thin that you can see light through it if you hold it up to a lamp. Not the quality I expected for $50. But I do love that it was available in tall.

I have a couple of these shirts from last year, but this particular shirt in Rob Roy pattern, was very disappointing. The fabric did not even come close to the quality of my others. The width across my back was much smaller. The fabric was more like felt than flannel. Llbean I sed to set the market standard for flannel, but this was a fail.

Not great quality flannel and poor fit. I returned it.

I purchased 2 of these shirts. One was cream & tan; the other was a colored plaid. Washed both shirts the same and put in drier as directed. The cream one shrank an inch and is pilling pretty badly. Puzzled as to why the shirts behaved differently when washed.

Considering the price, I expected the shirt to come out of the dryer ready to wear. The colors did not hold up as they should. The feel of the material should last past the first wash.

I don't know where the fabric came from, but after 1 wash on both the purchases I made and loved the shirts, they are a pilly mess. I wouldn't wear them out again. And wrinkled, but you're not supposed to iron? Am SO disappointed. Yes. I used cold water. As it stated. The shirts went from very attractive to cheap looking in less than 2 washes.

Flimsier than the LLBean flannels I have purchased in the past. Also tends to pill, which my other BEan flannels have never done.

I've bought and owned many, many flannel shirts over the years. Have some that are 10+ years that look better than this from Bean. The fabric was nice and soft before washing but after a few washes, it's slightly stiff and definitely pilled too much. I always dry on low heat and wash in cold water to avoid shrinkage. The placket with the button holes always dries all wrinkly like this and the instructions say Do Not Iron-what?? It looks so sloppy. Also, 6 buttons is just not right. I'm going to return it because I just don't want to wear it. I thought the flannel would be much better quality than what it is.

thought color was plaid pinkish and a periwinkle blue. The vertical stripes are red. 3x. A little tight across chest. Shoulders are wide but might be ok after washing. Sleeves length past my fingers. This seems more like a regular size cut larger rather than fitted for a plus size woman. Quality good so gave it 2 stars.

Got this shirt as a gift for Christmas. After the first wash, it showed lots of pilling and looked like something you'd pick up at Goodwill. Also, it runs small. After one wash and barely drying it, it shrunk. I am sending it back. However, it is soft and warm. LL Bean needs to make roomier clothes for women and less "slightly fitted!"

I was so surprised that my shirt deteriorated after one, cold water wash. It's already pealing and seems to have lost the thick soft body it had prior to washing. The colors and fit are as expected, otherwise I'd give one star.

I returned this, the fit is not flattering, wish they still offered the "slightly fitted" version.

When received this shirt was not the same color as on the website. The purple and pink one I bought was red and blue. Fabric is rough and grabs every piece of lint it encounters.

Stiff and coarse fabric is not how this shirt was described but it certainly feels that way.

I ordered a Small Women's size, but shirt is more like a Men's small--sleeves too long, shoulders too wide.

Fit on the back of shirt is unusual. Return it, still waiting on refund which is taking a long time.

It is running too small (or I am getting too big!!) So I was disappointed. Otherwise it is another warm shirt!...love the red!

I really wanted to like this shirt. The flannel colors and feel are great. But that's about all I can say that's positive. LLBean cheaped out on the number of buttons! Seems petty - BUT, by only having 7 in front instead of 9 like they used to feature on their flannel shirts, it gapes open right across the bust if you move your arms...definitely not a good look. I have to fix it by adding five button holes to the front and find matching buttons - or replace all the button in the front and on the cuffs. Speaking of the cuffs, the shirt no longer has 2 buttons on the cuffs, which gave you the ability to make it more snug on your wrist if you have slim wrists. I had to remove and sew the cuff buttons back on in a different position. Also, the shirt is not relaxed - there's less fabric around the hips, so it's too snug. Last but not least, the "side pockets" are useless and the obvious stitching for them makes the shirt look silly. I think LLBean decided to economize by (1) using less fabric around the hips so they could include the useless pockets, and (2) reducing the # of buttons. Poor design choices! I'm keeping it but not ordering any more. At the very least - from now on I'll count buttons in online or catalog pictures of any LLBean shirt and pass on buying any that have only 7 down the front. I would not recommend this shirt to anyone.

Love the colors and feel of fabric....but washed on cold..dried on warm and the sleeves and back shrunk up....the truck area was fine as it was a bit loose to begin with.

I love the pattern and material but the shirt is way beyond relaxed. It was huge and the sleeves were too long to be a petite.

In the past I have been very satisfied with the fit of LLBean petite plaid shirts and jeans. It has been awhile since I have ordered but the fit is not the same. While the sleeve length was good, not too short, the cut thru the shoulders was too narrow. Also the placement of the top two buttons was off , too much space between them and could have used another button on the cuffs. I noticed the pattern on the yoke did not line up with rest of the back and a bit off on the sides. While the plaid was nice and the fabric felt soft I don't know how well it would hold up since short cuts seemed to be made elsewhere.

I tried on the shirt before I washed it. Good fit, but flannel does not seem as nice as on previously ordered flannel shirts. After washing in cold water and drying on low...it shrunk enough to be uncomfortable. I will return the shirt and consider trying a larger size. First time in over 30 years I've ever returned something for poor quality.
