I've purchased a lot of items from LL Bean over the last few years, and decided to try these flannels for the fall/winter season. Of the 4 I bought, one was notably smaller compared to the others even before washing. The other three over the course of wearing a few times started to unfortunately gradually shrink in length. The sleeves have become uncomfortably tight around my wristwatch, and also have significantly shrunk in length. The shortness of the sleeve is particularly noticeable any time that I reach forward. Due to the combination of the cuff shrinking and the sleeve length shrinking, I'm constantly tugging my sleeves down if I reach even the slightest distance.
I purchased some other items from LL Bean around the same time and have not had this shrinking issue, so I assume it is because these are 100% cotton, and the other shirts are a blend. If I decide to order more of these shirts in the future, I will try to go up a size and wash a few times before wearing to see if they shrink in a similar way.

A roomy, relaxed fit flannel, this shirt shows obvious signs of corporate cost cutting such as 6 buttons instead of 8-12 like every other button down I own. The result, is odd, improperly placed buttons for women's bodies and gaps does the front placket. Fabric doesn't wash well and shows early signs of wear and pilling after several cycles. Could do better.

None of the plaids matched at the seams -- I felt frouzy, and shocked at it being okay to sell.

Have had many of these shirts through the years, needed a new color. Have lost weight but now the Petite Large shrunk! Washed in cold water, dried on low heat. Must be the fabric? Color? Who knows.

I ordered 2 of these flannel shirts last year. The shirts I received this year were very soft but an inch or 2 shorter. I prefer the longer ones.

I returned the size medium as it was a tad too tight in the chest (made the buttons pucker) and the large hasn't been available in the pattern I desire.

Too boxy. Had to return it for the fitted version.

This is not as roomy as most of the shirts I have purchased from LLB in the past few years, it was supposed to be relaxed but I find it somewhat tight. Will have to give it away as I am not comfortable in it.

My boyfriend bought me this shirt for Christmas and I was ecstatic because I loved the colors and the material. However, I was dismayed by how large it was on me. I have naturally broad shoulders and typically wear a medium in clothing. I am also 5 foot 6, which I do not feel is terribly short. I could not believe how large this item was...it fit more like a dress than a shirt. Now I am sad that they are out of the color he originally bought me in smaller sizes.

It's a very thick flannel. It got felt all over the other clothes in the wash.

Longer and bigger than previous years. I miss the old version that fit shorter in sleeve and body length.

I liked everything about this shirt until I washed it. It shed all over the rest of the laundry. It is also piling all over. I ordered a similar shirt from another manufacturer and it does not have this problem.

The quality of fabric is not like the flannel shirts I have purchased from LLBean fir the last 40 years. Not very high quality.

In the past, I have loved this shirt for its soft and warm flannel and the scotch plaid patterns. What happened to the button down collars? What happened to the usually offered scotch plaid colors? I was hoping to get black Stewart this year as it usually sells out but I don't see that it was offered this season. On another note, the corduroy big shirt is not even found this year. It is usually offered in great jewel tone colors for the winter blahs. Perhaps I have missed it in the past couple seasons as I also have three of these but needing new ones. I find myself looking for resale items on other websites to find the older styles and colorsGood grief.

I bought two of these flannel shirts last year and love them. They are warm and cozy and the fabric has substantial weight. The only thing is that they weren't 'tall' sized, which I need, but I bought them anyway and still like them. This year I was excited to see the flannel shirts available in talls so I ordered two, but they are so much lighter and thinner than last year's version. Feel cheaply made and nowhere near as warm. Bummer.

Beautiful color and feel. Well constructed. Too bad it is not offered in a 1X tall. Just a little too snug for the Tall XL.

The color doesn't look like the color in the photo on-line. And the fit is not very "relaxed". It's also very lightweight.

Love the shirt but I miss the button down collar. I'm still waiting for the button down style to return.the flannel is a good weight and super soft. It wears well on its own, over a tee, or under a sweater/sweatshirt, except for he collar creeping out over the neckline.

Beautiful and of quality material. Unfortunately it does not fit my plus figure. It I'd too large in the top and sleeves, which are very long on me, but tight around my hips.

I loved this shirt until I tried it on and immediately noticed that the plaid does not meet at the seams. A quality garment MUST have the seams meet or the unmatched seams become very obvious. I am disappointed in LLBean for putting this shirt out there. I will be returning it, regrettably.

In the past, I ordered PS of this shirt. But after washing it, the sleeves shrank so much that it looked ridiculous. Once the cuff was buttoned, I couldn't raise my arm. I don't know why I didn't return it. I donated it instead. So this time, I ordered PM and it was too large, even for relaxed. I washed it, thinking that it would shrink like the PS shirt. But it didn't. It remained too large for me and the sleeves were still too long. I really wish LL Bean was more clear about shrinkage of their flannel shirts. This time, I will be returning it for refund.

I was a little saddened that it wasn't the same quality as my older Portuguese flannel shirts that I have from LL Bean. I always prewash before the first wearing, and it had pills. The older shirts seem to have better weaving. On this new one the emphasis seems to be more on soft fluff, similar to Land's End. I prefer the older shirts. I guess LLBean went with
a different manufacturer in Portugal.
