Actually, I love(d) these pajamas. HOWEVER: L.L. Bean is definitely using thinner flannel than they used to use. I bought these in November 2019 and by October 2020 the butt seam tore out, which a friend repaired with seam binding. Then a few weeks later the material failed and disintegrated. I can't even repair them. One year for a $70.00 pair of pajamas that are not worn daily (should I say nightly?) is NOT acceptable. I have shopped Bean for almost 50 years. Recently I keep being disappointed by their products.

The top runs very small and the bottoms runs very big. The quality of the flannel is good. I have bought flannel tops, capris and pants from L.L. Bean before and been very happy with the size and fit every time. The PJ's just didn't seem sized right. I prefer the relaxed fit

The overall appearance of the pajamas when they arrived was excellent. Beautiful colors, great fit, nice overall workmanship - very professionally constructed. I like the nicely sewn facing on the top and the sturdy & comfortable elastic waist on the pants that actually comes to my waist. The pants are a little wide and I am not a fan of button cuffs on pjs, but otherwise, very nice pajamas. After washing them, it was evident that the flannel is a poor quality and this was so disappointing. I followed the washing and drying instructions exactly, but the material has a rough texture and creates a great deal of lint and the texture of the flannel was even worse after the second washing. They are such comfortable pajamas, it is a pity that the material is poor. I am keeping these but I will never purchase them again. It was a huge splurge for me to buy these expensive pajamas. I expected so much better from LL Bean.

I ordered petite small. They were huge! Especially the pants. Definitely not a small! I returned them and was charged the $6.50 to do so. Exchanged for petite extra small. This pair was also too big. And I'm not a petite size. Craziest of all, the petite extra small sleeves are longer and bigger than the petite small! And I'm not returning for refund because then that means I pay $13. in all for LLBean's error!

I've wanted a pair of these pajamas for years after being a big fan of the scotch plaid flannel shirts, but I was really disappointed. The pajamas are quite soft and fit well, however the quality is not what I expect from L.L.Bean. After about 6 weeks of regular wash and wear the pajamas are covered in pilling. It start after only a few nights and now are completely worn looking. I'm really disappointed these didn't hold up better and I don't expect they will last the remainder of the winter.

I love these pajamas however I bought two pairs and both tops are an issue. The button holes are too big and they won't stay buttoned. $80 for a pair of pajamas is not inexpensive and these are definitely not worth the price. Very disappointed.

I washed my new pjs before I wore them. They shed tiny blue balls all over the bed and floor. I have washed them 3 times now, and they are still shedding although not as much. I am disapppointed because I have bought Bean's flannel shirts before and never had this happen.

Sadly this is not what I expect from LL Bean. The material is itchy. I've washed several times and used fabric softener to help soften it. Unfortunately I bought 4 different colors and took the itchy tags off, or I would have returned them.

These seemed like the perfect pajamas for my elderly mother recovering from a hospital stay. Warm,
soft, cozy-and a perfect fit. It is hard to find pajamas for her that have a drawstring and fit nicely at the
waist. The forest green/navy plaid is a nice color. But then I put them into the wash on cold/casual cycle. The machine came out absolutely full of dark
blue lint. It was a big job to clean it all up and get all of the clothes free of the bits and pieces of fabric sloughing off. I checked in with L.L. Bean and they reassured me the problem would go away after a few washes. It did with the wash, but the pajamas continue to shed dark blue lint all over the house-it is everywhere-rugs, floors, corners! I think of them as the pajamas that "came for Christmas!" I hope L.L. Bean reconsiders their fabric choice for these pajamas next year. They are a nice product in every other way but who wants dark blue lint scattered all over the house? Also, when they first arrived they
were so soft and smooth, but after the wash of course they are rough and bumpy along with the shedding. Hope L.L. Bean can remedy this!!

The material is very soft, but I was disappointed to see how wide the pants were despite being a petite x-small. I was swimming in them. I thought about washing/drying them, but was afraid they would then be too short. Unfortunately, I have to return them.

These are beautiful and the flannel is soft. BUT, they are very expensive for such poor quality workmanship. The waistband gives out after a few washes and the bottoms will never stay up again. The buttons on the shirt also pop off but at least those can be mended.
I wish llbean had a good return policy like other companies and would replace items of poor quality.

Was so looking forward to these... I've never owned a pair of flannel PJ's and I finally splurged and bought these during the Black Friday sale! Straight out of the bag, they are so soft and thick. After a wash and trip through the dryer (according to the instructions on the tag), these were pilling like crazy... Flannel fuzz all over my laundry room and living room! Still super soft, but the fuzz fest is enough to merit a return in my opinion. Just not as quality as I was expecting from L.L. Bean...

Within 4 days of wearing PJs the cloth balled and piled on arms and sides making it look like it was many years old & very worn. Very disappointed cause they are soft and comfy.

Material is super soft.
Top fits just fine and then the pant is incredibly tight around the thighs and then very loose everywhere else. The medium bottom fits but is uncomfortable.
Bottoms fit poorly. They fit like mens pants, as if there is no space for a butt or hips.

Loved the color and pattern, fit was great, but when washed separately in cold water, i felt like a third of the fabric was left in the washer. The fabric shed everywhere. When I shook the pieces, just out of the washer, dark pieces of the fabric collected all over the floor. I hung then to dry, hoping one wash got it all. Then I used 9 sheets of lint roller paper on them after they dried. When I put them on again and wore them around my bedroom, there were so many pieces of the fabric falling on the carpet that I had to vacuum. Before sending them back, I tried one more washing. Same result, and additionally, the fabric looked like it was covered with lint - but it was coming from the fabric. It would not roll off with the lint roller, so I folded them up and sent them back. I have loved previous Bean pajamas and was disappointed that these didn't work out. LL Bean was great about the return.

It shrunk when I washed and dried it ... not hot settings. I can't wear it now.

This is the second time I've purchased this flannel pajama. You'd think I'd learn. The size of the top doesn't match with the size of the bottoms. The top fits small and the front gapes open. The bottoms are huge and remind me of clown pants. I had the same issue before, but tried again, anyway. These too will go to Goodwill.

I am a loyal LLBean shopper and I have a very old pair of LLBean flannel PJs that I love. I was very disappointed by the thin weight of these and especially in the sizing. The top is too tight and the bottoms are too loose. For this price point I expect better quality and fit.

The bottoms had a hole in the bottoms within the first year of wearing from normal wear & tear.

A lot of previous comments are about fit, but fabric softness and quality is what I am looking for. I've had a set of the solid PJ's for years that I hoped to replace with these and now am really on the fence because the overall quality is so bad. Fabric is thin, not the same weave as my old ones and somewhat scratchy. The stitching is sloppy. But I like the petite option, don't mind the loose fit and love all the pockets. I used to give these a presents and now am just sad. Thinking I'll return them. My old ones are so much better and aged so well! Come on, Bean's! you did it once you can do it again!

The size L tall for women will fit a person who is all legs and over 6'2", size 10-12 might be able to fit into these. I did not try them on before putting them in the wash and dryer. Inseam is about 36", after the wash. Rise is not proportional, arms are short, shoulders too narrow. Simply could not sleep in them, too tight. Wish I had tried them on before washing.
Two stars because the fabric is so soft I wish I had pjs made of that.

I have purchased flannel PJs from LL Bean for a long time. I still wear a pair that are ten years old and they are great. However, these are not the same good quality PJ that LL Bean used to sell. Disappointing. A friend bought a LL Bean gift card for me so I could purchase these as a gift for Christmas. The flannel is thin and I can tell they would not last nearly as long as the ones I bought ten years ago. The style is really more like a men's style with buttons on the wrists(?!). Why? No no no! Never. The previous pair(s) I have bought (about four or five over the last decades) never had button wrists. The width is also narrower on the top than the ones I have and overall I cannot recommend them now. They are made in El Salvador. I am returning the order and will be stuck with an LL Bean Gift card I can't use. This was my last time shopping at LL Bean. I thought I'd give them one more chance after I had to return my last order for quality issues as well. Never again unfortunately. What happened to the made in the USA LL Bean company of the past?

I've worn these pajamas 4 times and washed twice and the fabric is not holding up. It's faded and there is piling/fuzballs already formed. I expected much more from LLbean

Third time I've bought flannel pjs from llbean in the last 3 years. Never had a problem before....THIS TIME: I washed them in cold water before wearing and they are covered with pills. Not happy. Interestingly, these pjs are actually a slightly thicker flannel than the previous ones. This should be a good thing....but I'm wondering if this helped contribute to the pilling? I was very careful washing them. I will keep them to hang around in but will not buy again. Absolutely NOT worth the price.

I bought a matching set of these pajamas for my partner and myself and both sets completely pilled in the dryer the first time I washed them. I followed the washing directions and now both sets are completely pilled. I would not expect this for the price point of these pajamas.
