I asked the customer service person about the length. when i received my pj's i was disappointed. i am only 5 fr and this is the first time in 35+ years that something has been too long. i always buy my jeans and pants/slacks in petite and i have never had to have anything shortened. these pjs were petite large(i've bought them in the past} and they were way too long for me. i guess the good thing is that they shrunk and the length is fine but they also shrunk in the shirt portion. i usually try these things on but when i was in the store you had no petites at all. next time i will either shop another store or come a little later than i did hopong they are in the store

My old LLBean jammies are falling apart, so I was hoping to reorder them, as I love them. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, so I ordered these. These are not tailored attractively, and the bottoms are enormous compared to the top. They also have a slight roughness to them that I would never want in a pajama. I washed them, hoping the bottoms would shrink down a bit, but to no avail. I will be returning them.

These pajamas are pretty, feel soft to the touch (haven't worn them yet) and seem like they'd be warm.
However, they shed massive amounts of lint. By massive I mean *handfuls* (plural) after the first wash, a good handful from the second, and noticeable amount from the third. "Lint" doesn't adequately describe the situation as what shed was clumps, not tiny fibers. I washed them inside a mesh bag to try to contain the mess somewhat.
They shrunk slightly although they were hung to air dry.
The fit is a bit odd - and the pants are huge (hip especially, but also the waist). I exchanged for one size smaller and they're still very big.
If not for the fact that these were a gift I'd return, but the gift giver really wants me to have them.
I would prefer being able to find LL Bean women's clothing in tall sizes - but the pants hem is generous enough that I can let it down.

My only complaint is that we were not hold about a standard blemish that will occer over the monogram lettering. This blemish is removed during the first wash. It would have been helpful if LLBean had posted this info on the web sight. Thank you! Peter

I have several pairs of these Bean plaid flannel pj's, and all four of them are size large. This is the first pair that actually IS large. I'm swimming in them, even after washing and drying. The flannel is thick and this pair comes with pockets in the pants and a drawstring, which are a nice and unexpected bonus. The flannel has shed quite a bit of blue lint in two washings, and the drawstring seam has disintegrated. The flannel is soft and hopefully will shed less lint as I keep washing it. Wish I had tried them on before washing so I could have returned them for a size medium.

Let me start off by saying I'm pretty short, 5' tall.
The shirt is a few inches shorter then it should be even on my short frame. And then the pants, they are made for someone who is about 6' tall. I love LL Bean and their regular flannel but I'm not sure who decided the sizes for these pjs. The only person they will fit is an extremely long legged and short torso person.

I washed the PJ's before I wore them, which I do when new, they shrunk a lot. I was very surprised because I didn't expect them to, I returned them for a bigger size. They were of very nice quality but for the price I was very disappointed.

Little balls of black thread have come off on other clothes. This fabric is warm but I do not like the little black balls.

These pajamas are very warm and the flannel is also soft. I feel the pockets in the bottoms and cuffs with buttons are unnecessary and just add too much bulk. Although my true size would be medium, I usually wear a large in pajamas for comfort. Between the larger size and the pockets and cuffs I just feel like they were not as comfortable as they could have been.

A bit disappointed in the very thin material for these pj's. They fit true to size and the color is great. The weight is ok, but thin enough to see through when held up to the light. I just worry how durable they are for more than one winter. I have bought plenty of sleepwear from LLBean and never had a complaint. I just don't think for the price, they are good enough.

the flannel is lovely: thick & soft. but the sizing/styling is way off. i went with petite after reviewing the available dimensions (inseam, etc.), but the xs petite top is very boxy - wide & short, and the pants are long, bunchy with the pockets and unflattering overall -- too much fabric. wanted to love these, everybody seems to, but not at all right for me.

Finally, we ladies have a flannel PJ made from the exquisite Portugese fabric!
Warm! Cozy! So soft! Now, could someone please explain why we have BUTTON sleeves, like those on a shirt? The men's version does not. The large is GIGANTIC, too! The length of the bottoms is for a lady much taller than I have ever dreamed of being! To be able to enjoy the flannel my husband and son have worn for years and years, I will do the alterations. I wish LLBean would sell the top and bottom separately so I could get a large top and a medium bottom.

The fabric is noticeably thinner and less dense than the men's pajamas I purchased as a gift several years ago. The top is generously sized, a bit too big. The bottom is ridiculously large, so much so that I double checked the size tag because I was sure I had been sent a much larger size than the medium it was supposed to be. The chest and waist of these pj's measure about 44 inches, the hips are about 47 inches - for a size medium. I'll be exchanging these for a size small and hope thry're a better fit. Beyond that the seams are not finished as well as they have been in the past. The inner seams are not double stitched so that the seam sticks up and rubs against your leg. I can stitch the seams to correct that, and I can take in the size small if they're still too large, but I really shouldn't have to do alterations on a pair of pajamas.

First off - I absolutely love these PJs for their softness, fit and style. They feel wonderful on, really warm yet light and the tartan pattern is my favorite. But good lord - they really shed A LOT in the wash. I should have listened to other reviews but really wanted to get them so took a chance. The amount of lint in the washer and on the clothing is unreal. I will be washing them on their own from now on to avoid having to defluff everything else that was washed with it. I really want to love these, but overall not that impressed given the extra effort of removing lint after washing.

I guess I'm used to pajamas that have a little give to them. These have absolutely no give at all. I order up a size per a review and they are huge. So, I should have sent them back, but I didn't. Just not a great purchase for me. They do seem to be good quality, though.

I bought the regular rather than the petite, so the pants are too long and need to be hemmed. The workmanship on the pjs is nice, the fabric thick enough and soft, but after I washed them there was navy fuzz on everything. The fuzz didn't come off in the dryer so I have navy fuzz on the things I mistakenly washed with them. THEY SHOULD BE WASHED SEPARATELY, at least the first time.

The bottoms were a little large. Liked the fabric and pockets. The top was a little small across the shoulders and in the arm holes. I bought Lands End to compare and found it the same. The difference with Lands End is you buy each piece separately so I could order a larger top if wanted. I returned both and went with knit pants and top.

Similar to other folks, I found that these began pilling within just two washes causing them to thin out and become much less comfortable. This is disappointing because initially they were very soft and cozy pjs

I bought these PJs for my family for the holidays. I love the colors and the quality - very soft and well made. But wow are they unflattering - they easily make me look 30 pounds heavier than I am. I would return them, but I got them monogrammed and they are really comfortable - I just wish they didn't make me look enormous.

Quality of flannel & garment is great. I love the PJs, but they're big! PJ top can work ok. Pants are like 2 sizes too big. You should sell separately. I've encountered sizing problems with most apparel (usu running small but this one surprised me as big).

The fabric pilled after just 1 wash. I was cleaning the interior of my washer, removing a lot of fuzz. Now, the material is not smooth and if I hadn't chosen the dark plaid, it would probably be too unsightly to wear. Very disappointed.

These PJ's are comfy and soft but leave enormous amounts of lint in the washer and dryer. Wash them separately.

I purchased 4 pair of pajamas...3 pair of the tartan flannel pjs and 1 pair of the Scotch flannel, which is this one I'm reviewing. This pair I did not like at all.
They pill, which makes them look awful but the biggest problem is the waist band. The elastic band feels very thick, so when you lay down it feels like a big lump, it's so uncomfortable, that I only wear them for relaxing, I won't wear them to sleep in. And for the price I paid, I should be able to sleep in these pajamas and be comfortable!

My wife loves warm PJs. Bottoms fit great, but the top is a little too tight for a busty woman.

The plaid is pretty. On first wearing, the p.j.'s are super soft -- soft as a downy chick. After the first washing and drying, a fist-sized lump of lint appeared in the dryer screen. After four washings, the flannel has started to nub and has totally lost its initial softness; the dryer screen now has an egg-sized lump of soft lint. These p.j.'s fit well and are warm but they too quickly lose their comfy softness -- it's all going into the dryer screen!
