Plaids don't match! I would expect more from LL Bean and for the price!

Great shirt, soft fabric, extra length wonderful but I just couldn't but over the plaid not matching
at the side seams at this price. Why do all the flannel shirts have to be plaids anyway? I've seen several prints in the Signature line that would be great, or even a solid would be nice. And why are there so many tunics in the smaller size Signature line but so few in the plus sizes? We love the extra length.

The weight of the flannel is good, the green is a beautiful color, the length was perfect for me; however, a couple other things about this shirt are not so good.
There is something strange in the way the sleeves are set in. The armholes are cut very deep, bringing lots of sleeve into the body of the shirt and making the whole thing really bulky around the front and back of the shoulder area. Also, in the shirt I received, one armhole was actually longer and deeper than the other.
As someone else mentioned, the collar is extremely small, and looks a little odd compared to so much fabric around the neck and shoulder area.
One other thing that is a personal preference and not a defect of the shirt, but I failed to notice before I ordered. The plaid is more of a stripe because the dark, bold color is horizontal, whereas the vertical color is very light. Once on, all I saw were wide, bold horizontal stripes.
I love LL Bean and hate to write a negative review, but I really do think something is amiss in the design and construction of this shirt. Had to send it back.

Maybe if I had ordered down I would have liked this shirt. It was too long, sleeves too long, and too much fabric in the back. It also has a very small collar, which seems odd. The fabric is beautiful - nice color and very soft. But, for the price I expected better.

This shirt is nice and warm, and I love the colors. However, I thought it is sold as a tunic- meaning it should be longer than a regular shirt. It is by no means a tunic. It's barely any longer than any other shirt in my closet. It fits perfectly every other way, but it doesn't have the length to be called a tunic.

I got the fig color and the striping in person is not flatter. It looks like it just goes one way.

If you are looking for a heavy, soft flannel shirt this is fine. However, it is not a tunic. I am not a tall or overweight person but this fits like a regular shirt not tunic length at all. So I would recommend this as a shirt, but if you are looking for a tunic this is not one.

Lacks a good 3" of being tunic length. I bought it to wear with leggings, and it just barely covers my derrire.

This is a beautiful shirt and I love it but it is NOT a tunic as it was advertised, it is a shirt length and not at all what I wanted to purchase - very disappointed :-(

This is not a tunic. I bought a small, and it was boxy and barely went past my waist. Too bad because it was a really beautiful print. I agree with another reviewer that it is ridiculous that you have to be a man to have access to tall sizes. Women are tall too and can have long torsos too.

The fabric felt really nice and soft. The length was just slightly longer than the
Black Watch Scotch Plaid Shirt - so it shouldn't be called a tunic.
I liked the way it fit, but it looked like a horizontally striped shirt. The vertical
stripes were so faint that they disappeared. That's why I returned it.

The shirt is a nice weight, well made and a soft flannel but it is not a tunic length, which is what I wanted. I am very short so if it's not long enough to wear with leggings on me it will not be long enough for anybody. I kept it because it is warm and cute but I will only be wearing it with jeans, not leggings. It is also more boxy than I would like.

These are very well made and are super warm and soft. I just wish LL Bean would consider that women can be tall just like men can.
I sized up to a medium as I usually wear a small and a medium still was short. It's almost like if you size up in these they only make them wider.
I just think it's stupid that I have to be a man to have the option of a longer shirt... or at least buy men's clothing.
I won't bother ordering anything else, it wouldn't fit anyway.

This shirt is not the best cut for tall, broad shouldered women. If you have fairly narrow shoulders and a big chest, it's probably great. I usually wear a women's large from Bean and this item just ballooned out the sides on me. It wasn't a graceful drape, it was just unflattering. Just as some pants are labeled for curvy women, maybe this item should be described the same way. I'm afraid if I went down a size the shoulders would be too small so I'm returning it.

Love the material and fit but for $65 shouldn't the plaid match on the seams? The mismatch is glaring.

Love the cut and fit of this shirt as well as the material BUT the stripes/checks don't match at the sides! The sign of a well made shirt is that the patterns match at the sides but these are totally off, making a $70 shirt look like a $15 shirt I could buy at a discount store. I checked some flannel shirts my husband bought from Bean a couple of years ago and they are a pretty close match at the seams but these are totally off. Not sure if I am keeping these. I have been shopping at Bean because of the usually good quality for the price - you can do better that this!

Updating my previous review: this is very thick, warm flannel. However the fit is not good for me. To get this to fit in my shoulders, had to order XL, but then the body was too wide and short. Sleeves and body of shirt run on the short side, especially after washing. The tags at the back of the neck were scratchy and stiff--had to painstakingly remove. Sorry that I can't recommend this shirt. Seems best for those who are petite and like a boxy fit.

When my daughter asked what I wanted for Christmas, I suggested this shirt in the navy. The fabric is wonderfully warm, soft and cozy and I was thrilled because the medium was perfect and not at all skimpy. BUT when I went to press it, I was floored by the horribly poor workmanship!! The collar would barely flatten as it, the yoke across the back at the shoulder, the button placket, the cuffs, all terribly puckered and could barely flatten them! The buttons are all ready to fall off so I will have to pay someone now to fix them as I have terrible arthritis in my hands and cannot use a needle!
The 2 stars are for only the wonderful quality of the fabric! Haven't washed it yet, so don't know how that will turn out.
Although it was made in Vietnam, I would have ordered them in ALL the colors, but it is so disappointing, that I won't pay $60 for any others.
Very sad as I trusted LLBean, but now skeptical.

I had this shirt from a couple of years ago and liked it so I just ordered again. The sizing is not the same. Sent it back to get next size, still not seen it yet. Been a few weeks now.

My low rating comes for the colors in the fabric, not the shirt itself. I have many other LLBean flannel shirts and they are simply the best flannel shirts out there. But somehow the lighter color (in my case, pale blue) panels really jump out in contrast with the darker, and look almost like neon stripes rather than plaid -- not the subtle colors I like in a flannel shirt. Probably fine for other people, but not for me. I will order more LLBean flannel shirts for sure, but will be wary of stark contrasts like this.

The blouse is soft and looks bright but odor from top not acceptable. Even organic cotton should be cleaned. So back it went. I am not waisting my time to wash rewash until it smells clean. That could be 6-10 times. Quality check here.

I ordered the blue & white in petite XL, it fit perfectly and I love it! I ordered 4 more and didn't notice until after I had thrown out the packaging & invoice that the fit was completely different! In the case of the sapphire blue, the same petite XL fits as though it's a whole size smaller than the blue & white. So bummed that I can't exchange it now.

This one was a no. Size was all off and the fabric felt very stiff. You can't win them all.
