Less substantial than I expected - much thinner material.
Very soft and cozy, however.
Not as heavy as I would like.

I love this robe because it's so soft and warm but it came with a hole in the pocket. These robes are to expensive to not be perfect when you buy them. LL Bean where is your quality control?

Its a beautiful robe, warm and soft. Very plush. Don't waste your time on a monogram. It is completely lost in the plush fabric. I ordered a PM and it fit perfectly..and that is the problem. It literally fit perfectly, no extra room at all. I would have expected a big soft robe to be roomy and a bit oversized to fit warm jammies underneath. Sure do wish I would have ordered the large. The medium is too perfect a fit to call it a nice roomy, comfy robe.

First of all, this robe is super cozy, warm and perfect for cold nights.
However, The quality is lacking. I washed it once on delicate and dried it without heat, as the instructions say, and already have threads coming loose in five different sections of the robe. I got the light gray, and the color actually looks like a light blue which I don't like. And as if some other reviewer's mentioned, when I washed it, the blue turned the white sections dingy. So this robe looks very old after just one wash. Which is frustrating after spending over $100 on this robe

I like the robe - very comfy, soft and the hood is nice. Unfortunately, the seam split apart down one of the sides within a couple weeks (could have been there earlier, but just noticed it). The policy appears to be to pay for returns/exchanges, even with defects, which is unfortunate. So instead of paying even more for this fairly expensive robe, I'll just try to sew it. So - the robe is nice, but be aware you may also have quality issues so best to purchase if you have a store nearby where you can do a free return/exchange.

I received this as a Christmas gift from my parents. We're longtime LLBean customers, and I have products from ten+ years ago that are still in great condition. Thus, I was surprised when the inside strap of this robe snapped off right away when I went to tie it; now the robe doesn't hold in place. It is nice-looking, however.

I really wanted this robe since I love LL Bean products and it looked so cozy. After a year of use, I'd rate it as just a 3/5. I found the sleeves to be too short. Since their fleece lining is a major feature, this was disappointing. The sleeves have also pilled some. Not the quality I was expecting. Still cozy and warm, but not as amazing as expected.

This robe is luxuriously soft and warm, and snugs up nicely. Unfortunately the craftsmanship is shoddy causing the reduced rating. The fleece on the left sleeve is vastly different in size from the right and is stitched in crookedly, resulting in a lopsided look.

I ordered this robe as a gift to me from my mother. It was back ordered so I had to wait two months for it. What I love about it: it's very warm! Soft! The color, light brown, is fabulous! The weight is great for cold nights and mornings. What I didn't like is: the quality of the trim on the cuffs and hood. You can see through the pile and see the base. It's missing pile in places. I'm afraid to wash it fearing the pile will either mat down or lose more. I feel it's just not up to LLBean's standards. Will I return it? Absolutely not! I just turn the cuff inside so I don't have to look at it. Would I order it again? Perhaps. I'm hoping it will last for years. I chose Yes to recommend but with the caveat: see it in the store before you buy.

First of all, I love this fleece robe because it fits well (I ordered a size down) and is warm and cozy, but when I washed and dried it per the instructions, the robe shed--a lot! It had fuzz balls all over it which I've tried to pull off but it's a losing battle. Wherever I sit or lie down, there is fuzz from this robe. I bought the "ledge" color and am not sure if the other colors have the same problem. I did notice one other review mentioned that the shedding continued after six washings! I'm disappointed in this aspect of the robe.

I have purchased a ll bean bathrobe previously and it was excellent quality. This robe does not fit as comfortable as the M I purchased before. The seams are not sewn very neatly and the fleece kept shedding. I have washed it 6 times and huge amount of shedding in the dryer each time.

I got this to replace a 20 year old robe. I hate to say it but I honestly prefer my old ratty robe. This material is much softer and oh so cozy to the touch, but it ends there. This one ends at the top of my calf, and my legs feel drafty and chilly. That one extends another 6 inches so my legs are warmer. There is not much extra material on this one so while the wrap is not as bad as a too small paper gown at the dr, it barely stays shut when I sit. My old robe is a M (as was my body 20 years ago) to this XL and has double the cross over in front. Then the hood causes the top opening to flop open so there is no coziness around the decolletage or neck, which creates more draft and does not counter the chilly legs. The end effect is wondering how I can be wrapped in this cozy material and still feel so drafty. I look like Grover but have a chill. I'd be happy to look like a muppet if the rest of me were cozy. The white fleecy parts in the hood and tip of the arms look raggedy and are starting to mat after being worn 2 hours tonight. The arm length is perfect. The arm openings at the wrist are wider than my trusty old robe. You have to be careful about washing hands in the sink, and washing dishes would be precarious lest you end up with soggy Grover arms. I'm disappointed. But can't stop petting it on the hanger while I am wearing my old robe.

It is a comfortable robe, however the craftmanship is for beginners. If I knew how to sew better I would do it myself for a fraction of the cost. I think the robe is overpriced for what it is.

Very soft and plush. Pretty color, dark purple. Arrived with a hole in the sleeve at the seem. The hole gets bigger easily. Will attempt to sew it up, but not what I would expect from an expensive robe.

It is very plush. Found it to be too heavy and the hood was cumbersome. It is pretty.

This robe is so incredibly soft. Unfortunately, it was huge on me. The sleeves were way too long. And the hood was cumbersome. I had to send it back.

The material is soft. But the hood is huge - not adjusted to petit proportions at all and the sleeves too long. I am 5 feet, 2 inches and 114 lbs.

If you are looking for a robe that is truly warm, this one isn't for you. The only sherpa-lined portion is the hood (which makes it so heavy so that it pulls the top portion away from the shoulders, exposing them to the cold) and the cuffs. None of the rest of the robe is lined. It is more like you are wearing one of those fleece throws. There is not hing to close the robe at the throat to prevent the robe from opening up. I really regret this purchase. Not worth the money.

Robe is wicked heavy! I likely erred by purchasing a size too large. But, such a good sale; so will keep for those extra-cold winter days. Other than the weight's discomfort, it is classic wonderful Bean - top notch style & general comfort.

Lint is terrible, esp. in turquoise color. Bits of it are on everything I own, and anything that goes in the wash with it gets covered. Hood and sleeves won't stay cream-colored... If you're picky about your wardrobe and also want to be able to throw this in the wash with towels, pajamas, or similar, consider if it's worth it.

Wish I hadn't bought it knowing how badly it sheds even after several washings.

Sadly, this robe did not live up to expectations. It is not as warm as my 10-year-old LL Bean fleece robe. This robe is fairly thin and light compared. The fact that the sherpa is only on the hood and trim seems like they value appearance over functionality. This would be a GREAT robe if the sherpa was throughout the whole robe. The hood is pointless, and unneeded. I suggest putting effort into the warmth of the robe rather than "cute" superficial details. I am returning this and keeping a fully sherpa lined flannel robe from a competitor at a country store in Vermont. I'm aware that LL Bean offers a sherpa lined flannel, but the sherpa is not throughout the interior of that robe either. Honestly, these products are disappointing in their lack of genuine quality.
