I purchased this bathrobe online, so I was at a disadvantage. I couldn't really see it or feel it. But since I had such good luck with my llbean bathrobe from 20 years ago, I decided to take a chance. This is the softest and coziest bathrobe I have ever owned. It fits me perfectly. I am 5'10" and weigh 175 and purchased a large. So I am not small, but I'm also not obese. And even still, I have found that many brands don't wrap all the way around your tummy well. This one does. I can't explain how soft it is. It's like the fabric they would use for baby clothes. The flannel is extra soft and the "shearling" lining is the cashmere of fleece. The first thing I do in the morning is take the dogs in the back yard to potty. The hood really helps keep me warm out there, which has been especially beneficial this winter. We have had single digit and below zero temperatures for weeks. If you are thinking about this robe...BUY IT.
