Why charge a premium price when you are not providing a high quality product? The core part of the robe is lined with sherpa and the sleeves are very thin . NO sherpa there - just some thin and flimsy material. Why not line the entire robe? Very disappointed. I would have paid even more for a quality robe. I bought my robe 10 years ago and I wish I could buy this same quality again! Im just so disappointed!!

Purchased this as a gift to my wife this past Christmas. I bought from LLB based on past experience and reputation. The price was pretty steep (I think I paid $119) but it looked great in the pictures and LLB doesn't sell shabby quality, right? Wrong! After opening the gift she was initially excited.... until further inspection. While she didn't want to hurt my feelings I pressed her a bit until she said "it feels like the $7.99 Christmas pajamas you see at a supermarket before the holidays" (footnote - I have some of those for fun, but knew what I was getting for $7.99). A bit deflated I looked over the robe myself and was just short of horrified at how right she was. It just feels really cheap and hangs like a taffeta gown (crinkly, with odd symmetry). It doesn't have the weight of a premium robe and the cheap "flannel" doesn't want to lay flat, so the combination just makes it look and fit weird. My wife also thought the sleeves were a bit short (she's 5'7", 120 lbs and I bought a small-regular based on LLB's sizing chart). I'm honestly shocked at what LLB sent us for $119 and will be sending it back at my first opportunity. Even more disappointing was that it was a gift for the woman I love more than anything and I felt cheap giving it to her. It's getting returned as soon as I have the time. In the meantime, while at a spa over the holidays, I bought her a famous brand premium robe there for $85.

I own 2 of the men's robes, one fleece lined and one sherpa lined. I got this robe for my wife thinking it would be similar quality to the men's robes I own and it certainly is not. As soon as I picked up the box I could tell the material is much lighter. after opening we saw that the material is much thinner than the men's. the hood is a nice touch but this should be a warm robe and it isn't. also my wife is a size 12-14 and wanted an oversized robe so I got the xl and it is small for an XL. also she is 6'1 and the sleeve length was too short. very disappointed in this product. we will be returning it and getting her a men's one instead. they should offer tall sizes in women's like every other company.

I had a similar LL Bean fleece-lined robe for years until it wore out. This robe is a cheap re-invention of that robe. The fleece lining is not the same quality as that of the old robe--and the sleeves aren't lined!

Sad to say that the quality has gone way way down for LL Bean clothing. I bought a bathrobe like this 2 years ago. It's getting worn out because I have worn it every day, it's comfortable and warm. This new one is made so cheaply that it's sad. I returned it immediately and still waiting for my refund...it's been over a month now. I won't buy clothing there again.
Disappointed,

My one daughter has had this robe for years, My other daughter wanted one last year and it wasn't available so we were excited to see it back. I was so,so disappointed when it arrived. It is lightweight and very cheaply made. The sherpa lining is definitely not as thick and cozy. I will be returning this and shopping around for a better quality robe. We buy all our kids and their spouses merchandise from L.L.Bean every year and I have noticed the quality in general is not what it was years ago. Very disappointed, My daughters boots are almost threadbare after a few years and they are not CHEAP!

The fabric is rough and unpleasant on the skin. The sherpa lining looked nasty in a short time and was impossible restore even with careful washing. Expensive, poor-quality product. LL Bean are experts in cold weather gear. Please design a better robe-soft, warm, cozy-for New England winters! Thank you.

I used to own a previous version of this robe and loved it - soft flannel, warm lining. I lived in it all winter. After it got left in a move, I was so excited to see it pop up on L.L. Bean's site again!
This is unfortunately not that robe. This one has a terrible, cheap flannel that feels like every plastic-y piece of clothing you get from drop-shippers. It feels awful. The sherpa lining is similarly cheap and the sleeves aren't lined. Why on earth would you not line the sleeves? Why would I want cold arms?
Honestly this robe is so bad, I'm baffled. This is simply not the quality I expect from L.L. Bean.

Sent it back. The sleeves were not lined with the Sherpa. I wanted total warmth, not partial.

The flannel is sub par. The Sherpa lining is of a cheap quality and the stitching is amateurish. I'm surprised LLBean would have something of such poor quality.

The sleeves aren't lined. Why would you like the entire robe except for the sleeves? Feels like a skimpy product for the price.

Quality of flannel was very thin as was the fleece. For a price tag of $100 bucks, I got my money back.

I purchased a similar robe 6 years ago, the material then was far superior to the flimsy material now. Poorly constructed, and the awful lining gave me the impression that it would fill my dryer with lint.. I am disappointed that LL Bean has let their standard drop so low, not worth $99. Returning.

This robe was surprisingly lightweight and flimsy; when you tie it, the front flap completely covers the left sided pocket; the sleeves are unlined and very thin; not at all warm; and the sleeves are too short.

I really love the look of this. I wanted to love it. It's deceptive though. The sleeves are just thin flannel. The rolled up cuff showing the sherpa lining ends there. It's just a cuff. I thought the idea was for it to be a very warm, cozy robe. The sleeves are very cold, especially compared with the warmpth of the rest of the robe? You have to wear a sweater or sweatshirt to have your arms warm enough and that defeats the purpose of the rest of the robe. Just my 2 cents. I would have LOVED it if it truly was sherpa lined throughout the entire robe. The sleeves were too cold for me to feel cozy and warm. I was bummed. It went back. It's a cool pattern though and almost right if not for it not being fully lined.

If these type of robes had zippers more people would buy them.
Zip from top and a zip on bottom
You use to carry a light weight robe like that! I bought at least 3.
I've been looking on your site 2 years for this or something warm and cozy similar to this. All are wrap. Do you think everyone is skinny (no larger sizes) and wraps will hold if you don't tie them tight? They just fall open!
No Luck!

Not the quality you expect from LL Bean. This is a lined robe. It looks pretty but if you expect to stay warm, take it with you on a south seas vacation. If you hold it up to the light, it shines right through. The flannel lining is as thick as a kleenex and the sherpa lining makes it feel soft but so thin its hardly there. This is not a great item for northern climate or a cool morning at the cabin.

Unexpectedly disappointing. This robe is very thin and feels cheap. I have other Scotch plaid items and am unsure if the fabric here is the same as that used for shirts and bedding. Colors are the same, but the fabric feels thinner and quality feels far lower. The fleece is especially disappointing. It is not Sherpa fleece which is typically made to resemble real sheep's fleece, notably low pile and tight structure (as on the men's rugby robe which is amazing). The material used here has a long, floppy pile and is very thin and sparse (like low pixel count compared to high pixels). It looks and feels nothing like real sheep's fleece as sherpa fleece should. I can't comment on size because I didn't get that far. The poor quality was immediately evident and I put the robe back in the bag to return without trying it on.
