I am very disappointed on how thin the flannel and Sherpa lining is in this robe. Clearly it is only warm enough if you are inside with the heat on high. I live in NW Montana and thought I could step outside with the dogs or get the newspaper wearing this robe. NO WAY. Given that L.L. Bean is in Maine, I expected that this robe would be thick and very warm.

I have been looking quite extensively for a Winter weight robe. I thought this one was perfect, but using your size guide this robe was too big on top and two small on the bottom and did not cover your chest sufficiently. Would not cover your knees when you sat down! Not warm enough for 10000' in Colorado as sleeves and pockets are unlined. So I am returning it.

Nice heavy robe with very flimsy, thin belt which doesn't work well with the heavy robe.SERIOUS downside to what could have been a terrific product!
I think LL Bean should fix this problem for all current owners of the robe rather than suggesting I find a seamstress!!!!!! I want better from LL Bean! Send me another belt so I can sew two together!

This robe looks nice, but appearance is the only positive. The fabric feels thin, the lining provides little warmth, and the robe has no weight. It looks like something you would wear to stay cozy, yet it feels more suitable for summer than for keeping warm.

Bought this same item several years ago for my daughter. Bought one recently for myself. Sorely disappointed. Quality is not the same (price more). Too light weight not warm at all. All in all, you're getting less for more $$. Would not recommend.

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my wife. The fit was good but it's _so_ lightweight. The flannel is barely worth of the name, lining is thin, and sleeves are not lined at all. Older reviews were good, so I can only assume you've changed suppliers. I'd recommend that the purchasing agent who handled these be replaced. Not worthy of the LL Bean name.

I have purchased two of these robes for my wife over the years and she lives in them. Northern Minnesota resident so we need warm and toasty apparel. She had worn out her last one and I didn't hesitate to order a replacement. I knew I was in trouble when I picked up the delivery box and it was as light as could be. Uh oh! The old ones had serious heft to them, I seriously thought I had received the wrong item. Not true. This was a cheap replica of the previous models that my wife loved.
I was astonished by the lack of quality from LL Bean. As a twenty year customer this is the first time that I have regretted a purchase from Bean. I still can't believe this came from Bean. And as you well know they are not giving these away $$, but you get what you pay for right? Not this time. Very, Very disappointed.

Very thin and overpriced. The sleeves were not lined and it was very cheaply made. Such a disappointment.

got this last week and knew there was trouble when the box was so light; I did wear it one night just to be fair, and it was generously sized but found it was no warmer than the fleece robes I already have; the materials -- both flannel and sherpa are just plain chintzy -- LBean should be ashamed to offer it; I sent it back the next day;

My first impression upon seeing the bathrobe was "cheap" The flannel is thin, and the "fleece" pulls away from the backing easily and tufts of it come out in my fingers.
I will be returning this. In the long ago past I had a pair of slippers and a pair of boots that lasted many years. Those were quality, this is not. I do not plan any future LL Bean purchases.

I was expecting a heavy robe, but this one is so thin that I would use it in the summer. I don't like the hood; it is very small and does not cover your head. I bought the 3XL because I like the extra drape, but this was way too small for me. I am returning for a different choice.

Did not like this product and am returning it. The hood is completely bunchy when you sit down on a sofa. The cuff are cumbersome to do anything and the wrap around is small, so your legs aren't covered when you sit. Also not impressed by the flannel and I have MANY of LL Bean's flannel shirts. Please bring back the original sherpa lined bathrobe sans the hood and cuffs!

Too bulky. It didn't look or feel well made. The flannel was thin. I thought as soon as it was washed the two pieces wouldn't shrink equally. I didn't want to take a chance so I returned it.

I received this plaid Sherpa ladies bathrobe as a gift a couple years ago. For the first washing or two it was fine and now it looks like a matted down, faded out cheap bathrobe. My husband paid a lot of money for this robe and thought it was special and it was for a month or two but now a couple years later, I'm embarrassed to even wear it. The quality is so poor that I'm surprised the name. L.L. Bean is actually on this robe. Do yourself a favor don't waste your money, purchase a different robe!

The robe is not lined as the title suggests, it is trimmed in areas with Sherpa, which it says if you expand the more about this product section. It is not going to give you the warm and cozy feels you are expecting if you thought you were getting an actually lined product.

I bought this robe for Winter. For $139, expected a thick, cozy robe. This is thin and cheap. Returning.

Not warm enough. My old LL Bean hooded robe was wonderful for going out to feed feral cats. This one runs smaller, gaps open at the knee level. I am 5'7", weigh 120. My first impulse was to return it. Wish I had. Wearing my old robe though it's falling apart.

So disappointed. Robe is very light in weight. The sleeves are too short and the length isn't long enough. These are not the heavy, warm thick robes from years ago they sold. Not worth the money~ even on sale. Duluth Trading for me now.

Why charge a premium price when you are not providing a high quality product? The core part of the robe is lined with sherpa and the sleeves are very thin . NO sherpa there - just some thin and flimsy material. Why not line the entire robe? Very disappointed. I would have paid even more for a quality robe. I bought my robe 10 years ago and I wish I could buy this same quality again! Im just so disappointed!!

Purchased this as a gift to my wife this past Christmas. I bought from LLB based on past experience and reputation. The price was pretty steep (I think I paid $119) but it looked great in the pictures and LLB doesn't sell shabby quality, right? Wrong! After opening the gift she was initially excited.... until further inspection. While she didn't want to hurt my feelings I pressed her a bit until she said "it feels like the $7.99 Christmas pajamas you see at a supermarket before the holidays" (footnote - I have some of those for fun, but knew what I was getting for $7.99). A bit deflated I looked over the robe myself and was just short of horrified at how right she was. It just feels really cheap and hangs like a taffeta gown (crinkly, with odd symmetry). It doesn't have the weight of a premium robe and the cheap "flannel" doesn't want to lay flat, so the combination just makes it look and fit weird. My wife also thought the sleeves were a bit short (she's 5'7", 120 lbs and I bought a small-regular based on LLB's sizing chart). I'm honestly shocked at what LLB sent us for $119 and will be sending it back at my first opportunity. Even more disappointing was that it was a gift for the woman I love more than anything and I felt cheap giving it to her. It's getting returned as soon as I have the time. In the meantime, while at a spa over the holidays, I bought her a famous brand premium robe there for $85.

I own 2 of the men's robes, one fleece lined and one sherpa lined. I got this robe for my wife thinking it would be similar quality to the men's robes I own and it certainly is not. As soon as I picked up the box I could tell the material is much lighter. after opening we saw that the material is much thinner than the men's. the hood is a nice touch but this should be a warm robe and it isn't. also my wife is a size 12-14 and wanted an oversized robe so I got the xl and it is small for an XL. also she is 6'1 and the sleeve length was too short. very disappointed in this product. we will be returning it and getting her a men's one instead. they should offer tall sizes in women's like every other company.

I had a similar LL Bean fleece-lined robe for years until it wore out. This robe is a cheap re-invention of that robe. The fleece lining is not the same quality as that of the old robe--and the sleeves aren't lined!
