Bad color that was more washed out than the picture. Too baggy and no insulation. Wasn't what I expected from previous purchases.

I normally wear Tall XL LLBean shirts and jackets. I ordered this 2XL anorak because of its quarter zip design. After unsuccessfully trying to get it over my shoulders and pulled down, I gave it to a friend who is smaller.

Boxier and stiffer than versions from years past. Also not as much freedom of movement as past versions, which I used to wear as a top layer for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. I also didn't like the bright color and circular disks for the drawstrings.
The old version was a go to workhorse garment. Not so the current one.

Why would anyone make a 2X - - and have it be fitted - - Anoraks are supposed to be comfortable outdoor wear. Material was of good quality - - - sizing - - not so much.

Unlike the many other jackets I have bought in the past, including an earlier version of the Mountain Anorak, this is too tight/small through the chest. Sufficiently tight that while it is sort of wearable with a t-shirt, as soon as you add any sort of layer it is uncomfortable! One even wonders if the jacket size was mis-labeled. I will be exchanging it for a 2XL and hope that it fits better. At this point I would find it difficult to recommend to a friend, we'll see what happens after I get a replacement. Needless to say, I am very disappointed with this purchase

I got this anorak because it looks cool and I thought that the water-resistant design would be perfect for use in light rain. The anorak looks great. The "vintage" ll bean logo is a great detail and the jacket packs up amazingly into its own pocket (I used it many of a times as a pillow).
The anorak, however, is not good at all against wind or rain. Rain permeates through the seams no matter how strong the rain and it leaves you with awkward wet areas.
I do not recommend this anorak if you are looking for something to keep the rain out. It does look cool though.

The problem with this anorak design is that the "kangaroo" pocket is placed so low on the garment that it lines up with the pelvic area. So, for a male, walking with anything actually in the pocket becomes pretty uncomfortable, or at least distracting, as the contents bounce around on the front of the hip area. And woe betide you if you're carrying anything solid in there like a cellphone or a pocket knife. Now, the traditional anorak (in my experience) has the cargo pocket placed in the chest-stomach area, which is much more useful and comfortable, at least for men.
Otherwise, the garment is perfectly satisfactory. In fact, it is the only windbreaker I could find that had NO plastic coating on the material, and was therefore fully breathable, which is what I wanted.

I have ordered the women's version of this coat several times over the years and they have been very water resistance. I ordered the men's version last year for my husband and he got totally soaked wearing it. We are returning it.

Initially ordered Large tall since that size is identical to all other outdoor clothing I own. Considering it was meant to fit OVER clothing in a layering strategy it was way too small. Had to return at MY Expense! Exchanged for XL Tall. Same issue! Totally dissatisfied!! This item violates typical LL Bean reputation!!

This jacket runs larger than they say. When I sent it back for a medium I was charged $22.50... thought it would be $6. Other than that it is a great jacket and I love it. Just get a size smaller than you usually wear as it isn't slim fitting.

I really wanted this jacket. It was back ordered so I waited over a month to receive it. It was a new item so there weren't any reviews to go off of but they run LARGE. I'm 6'2 170 and usually run large in everything but I was a size smaller (M) in this jacket. So missed opportunity. And now I have to pay 6.50 to return and to exchange its backordered for 3/4 months now... so obviously not the best experience. The second star was only because of the potential and the color scheme was perfect.

I'm 6'2" and 215 lbs. I purchased XXL TALL in this anorak because it's notorious for having a poor fit. Guess what? The sleeve measures 22" from armpit to cuff. That's like a men's regular large. So this piece is sized down, three sizes, as an outer layer. It also lacks any flap behind the zipper, so the wind can blow through, and the cold zipper slider will be against your skin. I normally wear size Large in technical midlayers, yet this outer layer, sized up three sizes to XXL tall, still rises up above my waist if I raise my arms, and the sleeve rides up my forearm. So both the length of the sleeve and construction of the shoulder seems are for standing still, hands at your sides. Like a mannequin. To summarize, this is not an actual outdoor garment. It's the premise of a garment. It's for looking like the guy in the picture, not for wearing outdoors. That tells me a lot about who Bean thinks their customers are.

LL Bean's inability to keep products stocked is unacceptable. Your buying process should be reviewed and altered. Products throughout the year are constantly unavailable or come with egregious wait times. If you intend to increase your marketing, then you should in-turn increase your purchasing. Shutting out loyal customers from items due to poor planning is an awful business strategy.

As usual, the 3XLT is tight in the shoulders. Last try with jackets from LL Bean. This item has been returned.

If you're looking for something even remotely water resistant, this is NOT it. Liquid immediately soaks into the fabric, rather than beading up and rolling off. Barely wind resistant, too. The leather pull tabs seem artificial based on the sheen/plastic-like feel, though can't confirm. After one gentle washing the fabric started pilling. Profoundly unimpressed with this garment and I didn't even personally buy it, was given it through work with an embroidered patch/logo (which has begun to come partially undone on the front side.) Cannot believe LL Bean is selling this for $60. Could buy any lesser name brand and get a more functional, affordable product with likely a greater lifespan, too.

I bought this Men's XXL TALL for my football player husband, and it barely fits my 5'4' size 18 daughter. Very Short, Very tight!! Not what I expected from LL bean! Ordered a XXXL tall to see if the fit is any more generous.

First time wearing this and I was extremely disappointed with the 'water resistance'.
While I understand its not meant as a rain jacket, even a drizzle was breaking through the shell.
Great look as an outershell, but DO NOT expect to use in any type of rainy environment. Besides that, fits well and is true to images.

I loved it when I first received it, It fit perfectly. I washed it in cold water and hung it up to dry and the sleeve length shrunk.

I was expecting a full on, somewhat full body jacket. This is not what I was needing. It looks like a jacket but the material and thickness is extremely thin.

I bought this last year and have had few occasions to wear it. I wore it the first time and each time there after it leaked after minimal drizzle. I walk a dog and today in the last 10 minutes of the walk. It rained a bit in my arms, back and head got wet within less than 10 minutes. It is lightweight and not hot in rain in summer, but it is useless to repel rain. Or really even sprinkles.

This is the size I have used for years, and it was too small in every way. I should add that my own dimensions haven't changed.
