Great jacker for the price! Fits well and looks nice. You should make one similar that is a little beefier....goretex, vented armpits, velcro at wrists etc. I live in Colorado and often ski and hike above treeline. Would be worth paying more for a little more rugged version although this jacket will be used a lot in slightly warmer conditions.

So far it's a nice jacket and I'm in between a large and XL. I purchased an XL and it fits fine. It's a light weight jacket without a liner, so on chilly days you'll need to wear an under layer. I love the color, crimson. It lays a little long but I'm 5'7". I haven't worn it in a heavy down pour yet. I would recommend it.

Replacement for an overused '80s era CB anorak that is starting to require repairs. Search for single layer, wind and water resistant, breathable anorak similar to the CB model. Use for colder weather hiking and snow recreation(snowshoe, snowboard, snowsk8, powsurf). This anorak ticks all the requirements. Ski/Snowboard helmet compatible. Hood fits over the helmet without any issue. An improvement over the CB anorak. CB hood is too small to fit over a helmet. Fit allows for base layer and if needed a midweight fleece layer. 4 Stars for now. 5th star earned if it passes the test of time and use.

Not big man friendly. Can't move my arms in this and usually 2XL is perfect for me

I purchased the Anorak to replace my old one. Love the new athletic fit 4 stars. Only reason I did not give 5 stars, because They removed the mid-waste band in the waist pocket.

I had to purchase a size larger than I usually do with LL Bean clothes because I wanted to be able to wear a heavy sweatshirt or sweater underneath it. It's comfortable and functions as a good shell.

It's very well made I was considering the insulated version but glad I got the uninsulated so I can wear it as a windproof /water resistant shell. It's basically a windbreaker and very comfortable. The navy blue color is perfect and I've gotten lots of compliments. I'm thinking about buying a green one.

I love the color. I love the fit. I have one less star because I bought this jacket and not 20 minutes later saw the SAME jacket in the outlet store in the SAME location for $20 less. Not cool.

Sizing is smaller than expected! Tight fit with light shirt and does not work well with medium to heavy fleece. Looks great.

Nice jacket overall. Original bought in 86 and stolen in 88. Purchased a replacement then in a rather odd green color that I still wear when my wife is not around. Bought a new one 3-4 years ago to be presentable. Tight in the shoulders but still very good. Liked the new green and just bought a new one. Disappointed that the waist drawstring in all the others no longer exists. It is really noticed if you have something heavy like a cell phone in the kangaroo pocket. Hopefully the green in the jacket version comes out. Great material, simple design, but missing the classic fit.

I like the looks, fit, quality and functionality of this wind shell. I particularly like the kangaroo pocket. It is cut slightly trim around the torso; which looks good when it is on, but, being a pullover garment, can be a bit of a chore pulling it over your head and fitting both of your arms into its sleeves. Sleeve length is good and true to size. As an aside, I would prefer the label/logo be less prominently displayed.

This Anorak proved to be the breathable weather resistant layer that I was looking for. I paired it with a medium weight L.L. Bean wool top and set off on a brisk walk in 30- 40 weather with a good wind blowing across a lake. It rained lightly on me, though nothing pooled up on the fabric. The kangaroo pocket is excellent for a large cellphone, gloves when you get too hot or a plastic doggie clean-up bag. There are additionally hand pockets as well. Hits: breathability, durability. Misses: lots of loose threads to remove (quality control), color different from photo (actually more cinnamon than orange). That's why no Excellent rating.

Got an XL to fit heavy fleece underneath during Northern Illinois winters. The garment really needs a draft flap behind the zipper. A flap would enhance its windbreaker abilities. The lined version has a flap. Eh?

I've walked in this on days with a light drizzle for about an hour and it didn't leak through. I wouldn't wear it out intentionally for rain but if you were to get caught in an unexpected shower I think it would be fine. I've worn it in strong winds and it made for a very good windbreaker. It's not insulated but a outer shell designed for layering underneath. Bonus, it looks great.

My 3rd Mountain Anorak; the 1st is 21 wears old, still wearable, and the 2nd is 10 years old and carried-off by my son. Bought this because I like the Blue color. I've worn these nordic skiing, downhill skiing, dog-sledding, snowmobiling, canoeing, hiking, and on the sidelines at a lot of kids' sporting events. Great in wind or light precip, can be worn over a fleece/down layer, and pack-down so it can always be stuffed in a day pack. This new model seems to be a slightly heavier gauge nylon, and I like it. I'd give it 5 Stars if they had not removed the waist cord: It was very useful for controlling ventilation, or locking heat in, and snow out, when skiing/snowmobiling. I also preferred the plastic cord-locks on the hood drawstring: the leather looks nice, but takes longer to adjust, and slips; I'll swap them out since I expect to wear this for 20 years. Good buy, good piece of gear.

As long as you realize this is a very lightweight shell, you'll like it I'm sure. Over 15 years ago, I had bought the L.L. Bean anorak sold at the time. It consisted of two layers of nylon instead of one, giving it more warmth. Although I still would prefer that design, I'm satisfied with this anorak. It has a deeper zipper--great for taking it off and for ventilating. It has pass-through handwarmer pockets plus the kangaroo pouch opening from the top, so stuff can't fall out. The hood is actually too generously cut and overhangs my face too far, but not a big problem because I'll rarely use it. I wore this in a steady, light rain, and it repelled water very well. The Supplex nylon feels the same as cotton to me.
This is a good jacket to stash away in a backpack, due to its compactness when zipped into its pouch.

I ordered the jacket in a size Large for my husband. He usually wears a L from LL Bean. When the jacket arrived it was actually nicer than I expected but was too small. The sleeves were too short. The fabric is quite nice. I exchanged it for a XL and am hopeful the larger size is a better fit.

This jacket is well designed with a nice fitting cut and overall quality. The front zipper pocket is very handy and probably my favorite feature. It's a great jacket for the price point.

This is an all around awesome jacket. The only setback I have is that I wish the sleeves were a little bit longer but other than that I'm loving the jacket

I received this as a gift. The L was too small, but that's not surprising because I usually need L Tall. But even that was too small. Even XL Tall is a bit snug when going on or off, although it fits fine once it's on. The store never had any Tall sizes on the rack so it took two returns to get it all sorted out. My recommendation is to buy a size up.

This is a very nice anorak. it was a bit tight for me where size large is too big.
Unfortunately I had to return it. I was charged for shipping both ways.
