I really love these shorts. I now have every color. Although, I did cut the liner out because it was uncomfortable for me. I love them now that I cut it out but have to give 4 stars.

Awesome shorts for all your athletic activities. This is my third pair despite knowing the merino liner will not hold up. I'm about a year or so in with my other two pair and I expect the liner to fail pretty soon. The liner durability is the only reason I gave these 4 stars.

Compared to my Vuori Kore shorts these stand out with their ample and cool/smart looking reflective markers around the thigh, perfect leg holes for muscular thighs do not hinder during HIIT workouts, and comfortable wool liner that is supportive but not constricting. I have had issues with longevity with SmartWool underwear (particularly with the inner thigh area becoming thread bare due to thigh friction). Time will tell with longevity but will definitely enjoy these while they last. Will be happy if they last 6-8 months any more will be considered a bonus.

I loved wearing these shorts for casual wear and exercising, mostly running. The two pockets in front made them good for casual activities, while the zipper pocket in the back gave them the ability to be worn for exercise. Very comfortable shorts overall, but they could use some improvement in the fitting of the liner. These would probably be an every day pick for me for running if the liner was more traditional rather than being a mini-short style.

Great short for daily wear with an active lifestyle. I have worn these shorts tot eh gym, out on hikes, and around the house playing in the yard. I haven't and probably wont run in them, the liner doesn't feel like it would stay flat and not bunch up in that type of activity, but I love the pockets, especially the zipper to store essentials while on the move. Good all-around outdoor active short! #Smartwoollove

I have three pairs of these shorts, and yes, I'd buy them again. The only major improvement that would benefit them would be more durable liners.

This is the second pair of Merino shorts purchased. Used mainly for the long runs, it is a good fit and comfortable from cool morning runs or hot days. The pockets are good size to store enough gels for the 2 -3 hours of running. The issue I have is the liners are not very durable. I use great care in my sports clothing, but the liners on these shorts wear out very quicky in the seat, developing small holes and then quickly enlarging. These liners wear out at a rate of two to three times faster than other well known brands I own.

The fit on these is funky for me at least. The medium was too tight (most other brands I'm totally good in mediums) and had restricted movement. So I exchanged for size large. The jump in size difference is dramatic. I can pull down the size large without unbuttoning the waist. I use these as relaxing shorts now. Couldn't run more than a few miles in them. The liner was a bit sandpaper-y. Ouchie
