Worn 2 times a week, 12 hour shifts. I am 160lbs, 68in tall. I'll admit, I walk probably 10 miles in a shift working in a large ER. By no means is it any kind of abusive environment for shoes. I made several small repairs to the shoes within the first 2 weeks. Nothing major, just some stitches coming apart. I developed some low back discomfort related to inserts not very supportive, very cheap quality. When inserts removed I noticed more frayed stitching and layers coming apart. Inserts replaced with quality ones and I managed to keep them together for 6 months total. Now I use them to wash my car but not presentable for work anymore.

This shoes will not stay locked in on the. Heel and the toe box is way too narrow along with a super stiff sole not good for mid foot or toe striking and way too lose to use as a heel striker. Wish I could return they were super expensive.

When I first heard about the Mont Blanc, I was pumped. The ingredients all seem to be there: awesome midsole, vibram megagrip, wide toe box, light weight, zero drop, and BRIGHT RED. That said, this shoe is half baked at best.
I initially tried my normal size (10). During my first trail run I had to stop 5 or 6 times to crank down the laces due to the stretchy upper. Getting them to fit well enough hurt my midfoot. Also, they were far too long. Returned and tried again a full size down thinking that less upper material would help my foot feel more secure (note: my size 9 Mont Blanc was longer than my size 10 Timp 3). Still had a hard time getting a lock down without killing my foot. Put about 60 miles on them while really trying to make them work. No dice. Finally gave up and returned them. I really hope Altra fixes these in V2, as there's a ton of potential.

Every bit of this shoe is super comfortable but the floppy heel kills this shoe. On technical trail my foot is rolling inside the show and I feel no control at all. If you run very smooth or gravel road I think this may be a great shoe bu if you need to feel secure this shoe is horrible.

Overall I'm a big fan of Altra, some shoes haven't worked for mebut I understand the fact that no shoe is going to be perfect for everyone. Beat up and loved 4 pairs of Lone peaks 4.5's, then went to the 5's and it wasn't the best shoe for me, Switched to the Timps. My road shoe is the Rivera and it's my current favorite shoe to run in. When i first saw the pics of the Mont Blanc I was beyond stoked. Went to try it on a few days ago, and yahit looks amazing (well done) but unfortunately like Soo many othersthe heel fit and feel is just awful. Only took a few jogs around the store but it was Soo obviously not a match that's all the testing I needed. But* please don't give up on this shoe, definitely looking for the improved version 2! And then you will be able to take even more of my money! Still a loyal customer (just fix this!)

I was so excited to see that this shoe was coming out. I ordered a size 11, which I wear in all of my Altra running shoes. It was so big my heal was coming out as I was taking steps. Also it feels very narrow and I feel zero cushion in the step. The one positive is the grip. It is awesome. However, I would not recommend this shoe.

I have no idea how this shoe came to market with such a terrible fit. The combination of lousy round laces, a short tongue and awful heel collar made it impossible for me to keep my heel from slipping around. I tried replacing the laces and using using a heel lock lacing technique, which helped some, but I still had slippage just walking around the house. I thought they ran a little long compared to my other Altra's, but not long enough that sizing down was an option.
So I returned them without wearing them, because I knew there was no way I could run comfortably in them with that fit. Extremely disappointed, hopefully the Boa version will fit better, until then, I'll keep wearing my Lone Peaks.

The shoe itself is absolutely amazing. However, Altra really messed up the fit with this one. They have a narrow non-footshape shoe fit. The length is true to size, so by the time you get the width close to where you want it, the shoe is way long. Grips well, great upper, super light weight, but this version is not runnable
