Very disappointed in Altra. My original foot shape go-to Torins, which were life-running changing, were changed to the Plush, which is not as comfortable and optimal for full mid foot running. This Torin change forced me to switch to the Provisions. Now, the Provisions have changed - too narrow causing bruises on the side of my foot after short runs. Why can't Altra keep a full "original" foot shaped zero drop road shoe, which launched them into the market and gained a loyal following?

The Provision 6's feel drastically different compared to my Provision 5's (and I absolutely love my Provision 5's). Compared to the Provision 5's, they Provision 6's are far more narrow, and the arch feels different as well. Please move back to the style of the Provision 5 (if/when you make the Provision 7).

The shoe fit was not good at all. The inner arch border of the shoe was sticking out and inside my foot, as my foot was sitting on top of the hard inner frame. That would be too painful to wear, and I am so surprised this shoe was made this way at all. It is a no gooder for me and am returning it immediately. The Altra Paradigm 6 is excellent though.

Altra considers this a stability shoe, but as far as I can tell it offers very little to no support for overpronation. I cannot emphasize enough how much worse this shoe is in terms of support than the Provision 5. If you overpronate, you're only option from Altra at this point is the Paradigm 6. You do not want this shoe!

I have been buying this show for 5+ years and always get at 12.5. This time it seem more like a 13 and narrow. I bought some Lone Peaks at the same time a size 12.5 and they are fine.

After the 6th time wearing the shoe, a large chunk of the sole fell off.

Terrible stitching. Rubs really hard against the inside of the heel just behind the arch where the tongue is stitched to the inside of the shoe. Awful! I was so hopeful for these shoes being just the right fit for me and so disappointed about the stitching.

Why would you guys redesign this amazing shoe? You have ruined it!! From the fit and width it all feels off. Most importantly the tongue design is really bad that it digs into my foot.. I started loving Altra shoes after trying the provision 2.5. Which was just Perfect I think you guys should realy reconsider going back to the roots and sticking to it because it is what made me love this brand the new models are all off and weird that is unfortunate

Very disappointed with these. Loved the 4s and 5s but this just feels like a different shoe. I don't know how to articulate my problems with this shoe like some of the other reviewers but these feel much too narrow & they make my knee hurt. I can appreciate Altra trying something new but I hope they return to form on the next Provision or begin to offer some kind of legacy shoe that is like the 4 or 5. Until then l'll be stocking up on secondhand and old stock pairs of the 4s & 5s to hopefully last me a few years.
Altra, I'm okay with your shoes only lasting 6 months as long as I can keep getting more of them!

Loved the way my provision 5 fit - classic Altra wide toe box. Not so with the provision 6. Both sneakers were size 11 M and the provision 6 were much longer much more narrow than the provision 5. I buy (and love) Altra for the roomy toe box. I don’t know what they were thinking with this shoe. I exchanged them for the Torin Luxe in a 10.5 and I’m very happy with that shoe.

Have run in one version or another of Altra's since 2015. The Provision 6 is narrower than last years Provision 5. See pictures, same size. I Run in Altra's because of the wide toe box and Zero drop. On my first long run in the Provision 6 (only 10 miles) over basically level terrain, the foot and leg pain became intense. The next weekend I ran farther (11 miles) up and down hills with rough terrain wearing last years Provision 5 and experienced no discomfort in my feet or legs. Version 6 fits my foot so poorly that my feet hurt even on short runs. The width appears to be the main culprit but that may not be the only factor. It feels like they also did something to the inside of the shoe as the arch does not feel the same as last years version. The feel of this version is so Non Altra it caused me to even question the Zero Drop on this version. The new heal design I like and the new tread grips great when running on Ice and snow. I could only recommend this shoe to people who have long narrow feet, which I do not. I will now be looking at other versions to see if the ALTRA shoe that won my heart and foot all those years ago even exists. I hope it does.

Very disappointed. Loved prior iterations of the provision. However this update felt incredibly narrow especially at the mid-foot / arch.

The worst tread I think I've ever experienced. It collects small pebbles, and doesn't let go of them, turning the bottom into coarse sandpaper - don't wear on wood floors! It's also noisy, so you sound like Spongebob when walking. And I found it more slippery than my standard running shoe (with Continental treads).
Second problem, the upper wore a hole in the fabric in less than 50 miles of running. I returned them.
Plus side is I like the big toe space.

For the sole to collapse in less than 2 months is very disappointing considering the cost. I'd but the paradigm 5 as I have had a dozen pairs and they lasted much longer.
