thrilled with this jacket aside from the fact that it runs small. i sized up (from a medium to a large) hoping to be able to layer up for cool spring days but it fit like a fitted/snug medium - not leaving much room for a cozy fleece. i will be keeping it as i did need a rain jacket for summertime hiking and definitely recommend this to anyone who is just looking for protection from rain/wind and not the temperature.

The only thing I don't love about it is the lack of pockets.

arms are so short! the fit is very boxy. the actual coat is great and made well though, I dont usually have an issue with arms, doesn't matter how rainproof or waterproof for 2 inches of my forearms :(

I actually had to return this jacket only Because it was too small. It runs small. It was still a good jacket though!

I like the jacket, but I liked the old version better. It had air vents, and adjustment Velcro straps on the sleeve cuffs so it was much easier to get the jacket on and off. Also, can't figure out why it took three (3) full weeks to get the jacket. Looking at the delivery, it went to so many different depots and usps offices, it was head spinning

I bought this jacket to replace an older North Face rain jacket. I love the material, color and fit, but the pockets are awkward. They are too high up for where my hands want to naturally go.

I bought this jacket to replace an older North Face rain jacket I have. I love the quality and fit, but the pockets are in an awkward position. They are too high compared to the older version.

The jacket is lightweight and comfortable. The only issue, which is a big issue for me, are the pockets are in a very awkward position, they are almost unusable and difficult to even get your hands in. They are pretty much under the arm pits. They are more like side vents you can use as a pocket. Not sure who designed it but in regards to functionality it is a fail in my book.

Overall, it's a good jacket, but this is not a "waterproof" jacketmore of a windbreaker! It's great for light rain around the town, but that's it! After 10 minutes of rain, I was soaked and cold. Also, be mindful that once you have a stain, it will stay forever on it! I have the light pink version, and the dirty does not come off! Conclusion: quite overpriced for a rain jacket that is not waterproof.

I really wanted to make this work but alas it's not meant for taller, longer limbed women. It definitely runs a bit smaller. For reference, I'm 5'10 and wear medium or large. I got a large and it's a very snug fit. Will have to return it.

I did buy this for a rain coat, which serves it purpose. Although it's very thin, and need to size up if you plan on wearing even a t-shirt underneath.

This jacket runs small for tall people, I usually have to purchase men sized jackets b/c i am 6' tall and have long arms.

Wish the quality was better, in humidity rainy weather it's not ideal to wear. The material sticks to your skin and traps heat.

Water resistance has gone down from the older version of NF's basic rain jacket. I got my rain jacket as a replacement to my older one who's lining was peeling. I was kind of sad that I traded in a pretty high quality rain jacket (despite the peeling inside) for this. There are no under arm zippers to allow breathability and the jacket itself is now double layered, so it's a lot hotter to wear. It does look more sleek, but the pockets are just weirdly positioned as a diagonal.

This jacket is very solid as a layer and makes a good wind breaker. But I wouldn't rely on it for warmth.

I've used a North Face waterproof rain jacket for over twenty years. This is my third one and the design has changed, or the ones that I have had previously have been discontinued. I'm not a fan of this one. There is a mesh liner which makes the jacket heavier and warmer. I live in Florida so this isn't a desired feature for me. Heavier is also not good if carrying it when backpacking. The weight also might be because the jacket material itself feels heavier. Also this jacket doesn't have the side zip air vents under the arms. Again, a great feature for living in Florida. But, mind you, I've used my previous jackets while on the AT in the summer and this was a nice feature to have up there too. Lastly, the pockets in this new jacket are in a terrible location. You can't just stick your hands inside, you actually have to make a good effort to get your hand in. They are higher than normal jacket pockets and and they way the flap is makes it tricky. I feel like it defeats the purpose of pockets. A side note, the previous jackets I had all had a defect in the material at the neck line - but one that wouldn't show for at least three years, so still a great jacket and with the amazing warranty that The North Face offers, they always replaced my jackets. For that reason alone I will always stick with North Face. The old jackets I would have given five stars and unfortunately I can't do that with this one.

the pockets position is a little high, but that's good if you wanna take your phone when you go running. The color is more like teal, between green and blue , but closer to green. Buy for spring and fall hiking.
