I purchased 2 sizes to see which one my 21 month old daughter would fit. We decided to keep the smaller ones, 12-24 months. Unfortunately, she hates the mittens and putting them on is a battle. She also loves taking them off. I returned the larger pair but I'm keeping the smaller one because they're very well made and I don't have time to hunt around for another pair. I think these would be better for older children who understand that mittens help keep us warm. I wish the scratchy part of the velcro was facing up and now down toward my child's skin. I think that's another reason why she finds these mittens annoying. We have another pair from another store that are attached to a string that you can put through your child's jacket. If LLBean made something like that, it would be a godsend!

These mittens fit nicely and stay on the hand. They are relatively warm, the room for fingers to wiggle helps them stay warm. But, they are not waterproof. Nowhere on the mitts do they claim to be waterproof. They soak water up like any regular mitten, they do not repel water.

The mittens are too small. I am waiting for them to go on sale again to get the larger size. Thanks

These also run small. My child's hands were cold on a 35 degree winter day!

Within two hours of snow activity, these were wet inside. It was clear the water had soaked right through the clove and not entered through the wrist. Not waterproof.

I purchased these mittens for my 3 year old granddaughter. She loves the color but unless the Velcro is lined up absolutely perfectly it scratches her skin. As with most 3 year olds she wants to be independent putting on her own mittens and having the scratchy part of the Velcro next to the skin just doesn't work well.

These mittens are not as described. They're made with very thin material and provide little to no insulation or waterproofing. My toddler's little fingers were frozen after playing in the snow for 30 min. It seemed like they're missing an inner layer. Very disappointed as these are very cute and fit well, and would have perfect with otherwise.

Not sure how LL Bean can get away with claiming they are waterproof, both in item name and description, but they aren't at all. These are routinely soaked, even in mild snot or wet conditions. And not very warm. Nice size and easy to get on but when hands get cold and wet, what's the point? They are a rip off. I'm sure LLBean makes a lot of money off them but not honestly.

We bought these gloves for our son after searching our town for some good toddler gloves. Locally we could only find them for less than $50+ so we thought these were a steal. They sounded perfect, waterproof, fleece lined, tightened at the wrists to help keep them on, they go up his arm for extra warmth and they have a velcro opening to make putting them on super easy. These gloves do all of that but they are so thin that my toddlers fingers were frozen after being outside in 32 degrees for fifteen minutes. He was crying from them being so cold and this is a kid that will willingly walk in snow barefoot for a couple minutes while taking the dogs out to go potty so the gloves must not have done anything to keep his fingers warm. Super disappointed in these gloves and we will now be spending even more money to replace these.

We tried two different pairs of these, both are drenched and wet on the inside when I pick up my son from preschool.

THE QUALITY OF LLBEAN PRODUCTS HAS DETERIORATED TREMENDOUSLY! THESE MITTENS ARE NOT WATERPROOF AS ADVERTISED. ALSO THESE MITTENS LOOK LIKE THEY WERE A RETURN BY ANOTHER CUSTOMER---SHOCKING!

Little hands freezing after wearing them. They are too thin and do not work. Where are DOWN mittens for little hands? Shameful!
