We haven't had a chance to test them in the snow yet... buy my grandson loved them! (he's 2.) and I liked the velco strip to tighten them up around his wrist. I bought these gloves after some reviews that I read so I'm hoping they keep his hands dry. He will definitely have some "growing" room, but that's okay.

Buy a size down most likely. A bit big

I spent hours and hours looking for good quality, warm, waterproof mittens for my little one and I am so thankful I chose these! I am so pleased with them. They are so easy to get on and off. They kept my little one's hands warm and dry after playing for hours in 20 degree weather. And LLBean thought of everything: clips to hold them together when storing, strong velcro closure for a secure, snug fit around the wrists, a very long length so that they do not fall out of the coat sleeves. Thank you, thank you, LLBean, for making a great product that allows my child to play comfortably outside in these cold temperatures! And thank you for saving me time shopping each winter: I now know just to come to you for my mitten needs!

A great quality snowsuit, hat, boots, and wool socks don't really matter that much when your toddler's hands are painfully cold after 10 minutes. That's where we were last year with so many other pairs we tried; we were so grateful to find these. They go on like a dream, stay on (they are comfy and well cut), and keep little hands warm and dry. Our 2.5 year old is on the small side (approx 25th percentile) with small hands and feet. By the size chart she would have fit size 2t-4t but we found those too large. Size 12 - 24 months fit her well with a bit of grow room. I do wish they were machine washable, but they are still the best I've found.

My mom has been using these for years (apparently I wore them as a kid) and suggested them for my toddler boys. I ordered two pairs, the 12-24 month size for my 18-month-old and the 2T-4T for my 3.5-year-old. The fit is excellent. They stay on and keep hands warm and dry! I was a bit disappointed that the tag says NOT to wash them in a washing machine, but I wipe them off after use and the outside seems to come clean easily.
I only wish they came in more colors, even just plain black. Maybe I ordered too late in the season and missed the color selection but I had to go with navy blue. In the end I would absolutely purchase these again and suggest them to anyone who needs winter gloves for their active kids!

Had these in northern NY where snow abounds. In both sizes for two of my three kids (the third is a baby). These gloves have NEVER allowed my kids hands to be wet or cold. They have never complained about them, and the strap around the wrist keeps them snuggly on all the time. No issue falling off. I love, love, love these gloves! L.L. Bean you need to make them in a 5T and greater!

We bought these mittens after a recommendation. I was having an awful time trying to get my 3 year old son to figure out how to put his thumb into the thumb area of regular mittens. We were both getting so frustrated, then once they were on him, they wouldn't stay on. These mittens Velcro way down so that you have an easy time getting all fingers and the thumb into the correct location (especially for little children who have trouble understanding what you are trying to get them to do). Once the hand is in the mitten and thumb in thumb part, you Velcro close and then there is an additional Velcro around the wrist, so the mitten doesn't fall off. Fantastic mittens for toddlers. My son has now used them for ice skating lessons and they take 2 minutes to put on and stay on the entire time. I'm expecting they will be equally amazing for playing in the snow and skiing. I bought 2 pairs! I did find that they run big, as my 3 year old is currently wearing the 18-24 month size.

We live in Alaska, so good mittens are a must. I bought these for my grandson, and I'm so happy I did! It's hard to find decent mittens that go on easily and stay on. The Velcro opening makes them very easy to put on, and the Velcro strap ensures that they stay on. They're warm, and he doesn't mind wearing them. I highly recommend them!!

I got these for my 2 year old, so first year wearing thicker mittens. I really struggle getting his thumbs in. It definitely could be user error and we've only used them a few times. The length of the cuffs is really nice and the side velcro is a huge help to get them on. Of the times we've used them, there have been no complaints (or whines) about cold hands!

These are well made, but, oh so very over-engineered and complicated to put on! There are two strips of long velcro--one the length of the lower wrist and one around the wrist. There are also a ton of tags inside the mittens. I cut all of them off except the two green ones for the logo and the size. I'm not sure what the need is for so many! The sizing is very generous. My grandson is almost three and these will fit him for awhile.

Adorable little mittens. They have the snap to attach to many jackets. Also they Velcro along the side cuff to allow for little thumbs to get into the right spot.

These are definitely not the most waterproof or warmest out there but they are the best at this price point. We always have multiple pairs around and use them for everyday winter play. Not our go to for skiing or extended cold outdoor time.

These gloves are almost perfect. But why dont they have grip on the palms like the kid versions do. My son cant wear them at the park because they are too slippery. However they are warm and oh so easy to get on.

These come closer to staying on my daughter's hands than any other gloves I've tried. I'd still say they run a bit big but the belt part helps a lot!

Definitely easy to get on and sinch down well. I guess I'm giving them 4 stars rather than 5 because the kid can still pull them off (he's 1.5 years). Where are the magical mitts that a kid can't pull off? It's not quite these, but they're good mitts nonetheless.

These fit my 15 month old pretty well and keep her hands warm. Unfortunately the strap broke on one of the mittens after only a month but they still work.

We love using these mittens; they keep out the cold and stay on even when little ones try to shed them in our yard. However, as year-after-year LLBean customers, I resent that the same patterns are used again and again to produce products year after year without even adding new colors to choose from. I'm less than excited about buying more navy blue mittens. Perhaps I'll find more exciting options elsewhere with similar quality?

They stay on well and are water resistant, but her hands got cold after about 30 minutes outside in 30 degrees. Has happened on more than one occasion. Am disappointed after paying $24.

Was so excited when i finally got these for my grandkids. So when they came over we went outside and i put my granddaughters gloves on her and loved how easy they were to put on her. My grandson wanted to wear his gloves that he had brought from his home. When we came back inside after being outside for 25 min my granddaughters hands were so cold i felt horrible but my grandsons hands were so nice and warm. His parents payed 12.00$ for his i paid 25$ for my granddaughters. Her hands were dry but very cold. What a waste of 50$ so no i would not recommend these gloves for playing out in the snow maybe in the fall but definitely not in the snow. I will be going and getting the 12$ gloves for grandma's house.

Have bought 3 pairs of these for this winter and while the work well and are flexible on cold days they are definitely not waterproof. We went skiing and they were completely soaked by lunch. Will be looking for something else.

I want to LOVE these mittens and I mostly do, as long as I configure the way the Velcro wrist vent is laying just so... otherwise my child ends up with scratches on his hands and wrists because the base of the Velcro has really scratchy corners and edges. A zipper might be a better design!
