After just one time wearing, the buttons have already lost their paint. I imagine my child sat on the ground but would hope at this price that this paint would not have rubbed off after only one time wearing. Additionally, if your child is active like mine, there is a major design flaw in the top closure of the boot. The button with elastic loop on the outer leg closure of the boot is strong and works well. The velcro tabs holding the inner leg closure are ridiculous and don't stay closed because there is no give when walking. As you walk your leg moves so imagine a velcro tab trying to hold something closed, it gets pulled apart with every step. The inner leg should either be completely sewn secured closed or should have a matching button and elastic loop. For this amount of money I would have expected better durability and design. Do not buy if your child is active.

If you're looking for a boot that fully opens so you can get it over the heel - this isn't it. The extra closures on the sides merely make the very top wider and do nothing to make them actually easier to get on.

My daughter loves these boots on cold weather days. However, after she wore them this weekend in the snow storm, we discovered that they are NOT waterproof. Her feet were icy cold and soaking wet after playing in the snow. Her socks were drenched. I was so scared and worried as she is only 3 and it was quite cold out. Disappointing as we are regular LL Bean customers

My daughter loved these boots; unfortunately after only wearing them a few times over the course of two weeks I can see the stitching is coming out at the seams in several places, on both boots. They will soon have gaps and develop holes. If we're lucky they'll last this one winter but they may not even last that long. I expect much higher quality of L.L. Bean - other styles of boots from here I have had last through my own three kids and still be in good shape to pass on to another family!

We just tried out these boots in our first snow and my kids feet got soaked! I checked the boots and the lower part of them were wet through and through. These are not waterproof and I would not recommend this product to anyone.
