After just one time wearing, the buttons have already lost their paint. I imagine my child sat on the ground but would hope at this price that this paint would not have rubbed off after only one time wearing. Additionally, if your child is active like mine, there is a major design flaw in the top closure of the boot. The button with elastic loop on the outer leg closure of the boot is strong and works well. The velcro tabs holding the inner leg closure are ridiculous and dont stay closed because there is no give when walking. As you walk your leg moves so imagine a velcro tab trying to hold something closed, it gets pulled apart with every step. The inner leg should either be completely sewn secured closed or should have a matching button and elastic loop. For this amount of money I would have expected better durability and design. Do not buy if your child is active.

Great boot, easy for my 6 year old to get on by himself. I find every time my son comes in from playing outside the inside toe of his boots are wet. He's never cold, though.

These are lightweight and well built but not too easy for a 4/6 yo to fasten by themselves.

Overall a good boot, but they aren't easy for a competent 3.5 year old to take on and off, and the loop is difficult.

Great boots, just too small for my grandson. I ordered a different pair and will be returning these.

Great boot. Only didn't gave a 5 because the closure is too hard to do on his own as a 4yo. He can do many other shoes

I purchased these boots for my daughter the past two years. I came back this year for the 3rd time because she loves them so much but they COST $20 MORE THIS YEAR! Wow what a markup! (Otherwise I'd consider a 5-star rating.)
As far as warmth, dryness, and durability, they are excellent. My daughter pretty much lives in these from fall to spring, her school goes outdoors in all weather, twice a day. Her feet stay warm and dry.
I've used a coupon promo in the past so I would almost be doubling the cost if I buy again this year. Not happy about this. Why such a markup this year L.L.Bean? Families need support from major companies during a pandemic, recognition to loyal customers, not dramatic markups...

Not warm on the inside, and it's not very cold yet.

Kept feet warm and dry but ran very narrow and were extremely difficult to get on and off

Lightweight, but we had to size up so my daughter could get her foot into the boot. The neck of boot seems narrow. The toe box is also narrow for wide feet.

These boots are nice great quality and light as described. Unfortunately I had to return because they were to narrow for my 7 year olds foot.

The boot was comfortable but I found the treads on the bottom were thin so snow got trapped in them. If a kid like sliding it worked well but could not get boot to grip so was sliding on surfaces when needed the support not to slide.

PROS:
-very lightweight and flexible, so easy for my kid to move in
-fasteners are easy to use
CONS:
-the insides of these boots stay wet FOREVER - for example: if you take your kid out in the morning to play in the snow and then take them out again the afternoon, you'll have to wrap their feet in plastic bags in the afternoon because these boots will still be soaked.

The product description states that these boots are "designed for staying cozy and dry during snowy walks to school or long days of outdoor play." That is not the case. When playing in the snow or sledding for even less than an hour, the boots, and subsequently my daughters' feet, get wet. Not fun.

I bought these in November for my child who attends a nature preschool. After just over 2 months, the threading ripped out at the front of the toe and the boots started leaking. Disappointing!

Arrived just in time for our trip to Calgary and a massive snow fall October. Sadly these boots don't work. They were filled with snow and soaked inside. The snow gets in through the side of the boot. They are warm and comfortable, good quality. Just not to play in or walk through snow.

I've bought the Toddler version of these and they worked well when my son was younger. For some reason, this version seems extremely stiff and barely opens up wide enough to get a foot in. I cannot get my 4 year old's foot into these no matter what I do. The length is appropriate, but the width and curve is just way too short/severe and makes it difficult to slide a foot into. I prefer a pair of boots he can slide on himself, with minimal help. Unfortunately, I'll be returning.

For my petite seven year old these did not last one season. Her feet stayed dry and warm but the sole started releasing from the boot and there are tears in the fabric. Additionally, the hard leather lower part of the boot has a tendency to dig into her heel when worn for extended periods, causing abrasions on her foot. For the price, this was not worth it. Only wore them a few times a week for 3 months and I'll be returning.

I returned the boots. Although the length was fine, it was impossible to get the child's foot in the boot. The opening was so narrow that it just wouldn't go in. Very disappointing.

I purchased these for my three year old. They are lightweight and easy to put on a small child's foot (or for the child to do on his/her own). But unfortunately they take FOREVER to dry out if they become wet inside. They were wet the first time we used them (because snow got in to her boot) and she couldn't use them the next day because they were still wet. LLBean is generally great for outdoor kids products and I'm a loyal customer but unfortunately this product I would not recommend.

On the good side, these boots are very lightweight, seem comfortable once on, and look nice. On the other hand however, my son has an extremely hard time getting these boots on -- even after I exchanged them for a larger size. Even with the help of an adult (he puts all his other shoes on himself). Dressing kids in snow gear is hard enough, these boots make it dreadful.
My other point of contention is that if they get wet, they are wet for days. They seem to get wet easier than any snow boots I've bought in the past. Overall, wouldn't recommend.

I love these boots! There light weight and easy to put on. But my son would live outside if he could and when he is outside for more then hour the inside of his boots are wet. His socks are not soaked but if you put your hand on the inside of his boots it's wet?... you pay $80 something dollars you expect I guess not to be wet.

From the start, they have always been difficult to pull on, even with the velcro and clasp undone. After a year of wear, the inside has tamped down, and no longer seems to keep her little feet warm. To top it off, the waterproofing doesn't last even for a few hours of snow play. They are the reason she usually has to come in - feet are cold and wet. Not up to L.L.Bean standards!

I've always purchased LL bean products for the durability and comfort and these boots unfortunately do not meet those expectations. We purchased 2 pairs of these for our kids and the Velcro does not stay latched on the top allowing snow to come into the boot. One of the string hooks also broke so its even looser and constantly falls off of my daughters foot.
