Waist size was good for 9 yr old however the length was rediculously long, ll bean thinks all kids with size 16 need a 30" in sesm

Different design than in the past. No way to adjust the waist or hold them up for a skinnier person. No interior adjustable elastic band and no belt loops. Size didn't matter, all sizes fit oversized in the waist. Does not work for slim kids.

I have ordered my twin boys trekking pants here for the past 4 years and wish that version was still available. This version is too thin, have less pockets, run smaller and the prior waist line was better. Please bring the prior trekking pants back.

I was so disappointed to discover that the adjustable waist has been removed from these pants. They were perfect for my tall, skinny kiddos. Please bring it back!

A total bust... we're gearing up for climbing, backpacking, horse-packing, and lots of playtime. These pants were too big in the waist for our girls and no adjustable waist band or beltloops to compensate for oversized waist.
For lasting more than one season we rely on a longer leg and an adjustable waist band. We tried the smaller size to fit the waist, but the leg length was way too short.
We've been happy with the previous fit of LLBean hiking pants so we took a gamble that the waist would be appropriately sized.

Runs huge in the waist my son wears a size 6 and the size 5/6 was humongous at the waist but short in length, look like he was very capris. Very odd fit.

I had 3 pairs of these in my basket for my grandkids at the cottage this summer, and then I read the reviews. What genius designed little kids pants with no belt loops and no elasticized waist? So glad I checked, because my grandchildrens body types mean I definitely would have sent these back. Do better, LL Bean.

Great idea, but flimsy zippers on the legs. It broke the first day the pants were worn. Returned.
