We purchased this jacket for our daughter at the beginning of the winter and it is cute, she gets a lot of compliments on it. The material is not durable, so if you have a kiddo who likes to actually play outside then it will wear easily. Normally we are able to pass winter jackets on when she outgrows them, we probably will not be able to with this one since it will likely wear out before she outgrows it.

The hood is massive and there's no way to adjust. My child was not able to see because the hood covered his eyes. Otherwise it's a nice coat.

A few years ago my son received this jacket as a gift. It was the best jacket he ever had. It had so many features for skiing and playing in the snow. We needed to size up so we bought one again and the one we just received is almost like a completely different jacket. It's not lined like the last one, no thumb holes, the hood is different, no option to remove the hood, less pockets ect. The quality has went down significantly. The blue one in the photos is the previous jacket we loved. The green is the new one. Very disappointed.

If you've purchased these jackets in the past, be aware that they have changed. I've bought these jackets for my kids for years, but now there are fewer zippered pockets, no snow skirt, and the liner is not quite as warm. No ski pass pocket in the sleeve. I have to return it, sadly.

This coat is not warm and is over priced. We ordered this and paid 130 dollars thinking it was a ski warm coat. It turned out to be just a rain coat. Now we have to buy another coat!

Bought an S8 for my 4'3" 8 year old (about average I would think!) and it was way too large. Then bought a little kids L6-7 and it was still too big! Sizing on this is way off. Otherwise, constructed nicely and feels warm.

horrible item. My grandson put it near a heater on my four seasons porch and the sleeve melted! Complete fire hazard. The heat was barely on. I complained and LLBean said it was our own fault and would not replace. I'll never buy another winter jacket for my grandsons again at LLBean.

This jacket appears to be good quality, but it is not true to size. I ordered a size 8 for my seven-year-old grandson, but it was so large on him that he would not have grown into it for years. I returned it and ordered a different style jacket that fit him perfectly. L. L.Bean should revise its size chart for this item.

Got an email advertising the coat 25% off. Put it in my cart to check out and it was regular price. Guess they don't let you get the nice colors on sale. Bad business.

I'm truly dismayed. We loved this coat when we bought it 3 years ago. The one we received last month is super thin. I didn't think it would keep my son warm, but I let him go to school with it today, hoping maybe it was thin due to upgraded technology. No such luck. He complained about being freezing! The worst part of it is, I'm now at a complete loss as to what coat to buy him. This one is definitely being returned. What I really want is the old coat back!

I bought one of these for my daughter and didn't even get a full season out of it. The pocket on the front completely separated from the fabric.

The 10/12 kids size jacket was enormous. It fits my 5'7" 40 year old wife perfectly. Bean you need to look into the size of your kid jackets cause yikes. And the $6 to return fee is frustrating.

Thin, not warm, ill fitting and merchandising is off. LL Bean has lost its way. We have been fans of LL Bean for decades and has always been our go to. Give this a miss. Your child will freeze in this jacket.

The sizing is totally bizarre on your coats this year. My super tall 8 year old fit the size 6/7 coat and the size 8 that we bought in the other coat was way too short....

My son had this jacket for about a month, and through normal wear, the fabric got about a one inch tear on his chest. We took it back to the store, and the associate told us they no longer accept returns on worn items. She suggested some fabric tape.
If the poor quality was not bad enough, the hood is comically large. Like too big for an adult never mind a child.
I have been a loyal L.L. Bean customer for years because of their quality and the fact that they stood behind their products. I am done.

My 4th graders constantly gets the insulation stuck in the zipper when zipping up and down the zipper. Then the zipper jams causes my 4th grader to wear the coat home as is. Would NOT recommend!

My child only wears LL Bean's winter jackets and I tried the Wildcat Waterproof ski jacket as we need a new jacket. This jacket felt scratchy and squeaky while worn as the inner lining has a bumpy texture. Also, the hood doesn't have velcro or a cord to secure and tighten, which is a poor design the hood is not sized to fit smaller (kids) heads. The prior ski jackets from LL Bean had velcro which fastened the hood under the chin.

We purchase LL Bean coats for our 3 kids every year. While the quality of this coat is really great; the fit is strange. It's boxy and I have to roll up the sleeves. We have other LL Bean coats in the same size and they all fit my son very well. He actually complains about having to wear this. I might give it one more try and exchange it for something else.

The sizing of this jacket is completely off. I ordered a large for my 6 1/2 year old daughter - it was way too large so I ordered it in a medium - it was still way too large. The sleeves are longer than the jacket itself.
