Seems like it will be warm, even though it's not thick. Purchased to replace a size 4 Bean jacket in a discontinued model that was too small. Kid is 4, almost 5. On the taller side, but thin. 45 lbs. The 5-6 size is quite large and will probably not fit well until next year. Hopefully, it will fit for several years. It will get used this winter, but won't be car seat harness safe.

Great quality, fits well. The price is on sale, unbeatable.

We ski 2 or 3 times a year so I decided to splurge on this jacket for my kids a couple years ago. They LOVE them! It's keeps them nice and warm on the mountain and it's easy to add layers under if needed. The longer length keeps the snow and moisture out and the hood fits over a ski helmet nicely! It does run slightly big, but that's helped it last and they are still in great shape! They will probably grow out of them this year and I'll be looking for something new next year. If I could change anything, thumb holes would be nice and being able to secure the bottom of the jacket to the pants like some other ski jackets allow for extra protection from the elements would be nice.

Perhaps slightly small, although my 13-year-old is tall for his age so it may be fine. Exceptionally good quality as all LLBean items. This will hold up to a lot of outdoor play.

My almost 8 year old son loves this jacket. It's not too heavy yet still very warm. Velcro at the cuffs help keep the snow and cold out! Waterproof. I ordered him a 10/12. He has a slightly tall average build.

Purchased this winter jacket for my 6-year-old son and we both couldn't be happier. He loves the design and how warm it keeps him. I love that it's durable, waterproof, and washes well. Another quality L.L. Bean product! Runs a little on the large side, but we like that as we'll get a few years out of it. Definitely recommend!

First time getting this brand over TNF and I'm glad I did! Love the material, colors and how it looks. Perfect for snowboarding with a left pocket on the chest to place a chair lift card.

I purchased this for my daughter. Her current size 10/12 is getting a little snug so I sized up on this however runs a little large it may be a couple more years before it fits her. I love the colors. Looks like it will be warm & cozy for her.

Really great coat, warm and waterproof and looks nice on. Runs slightly large so good for layering.

The jacket seems thinner than previous models but my son has worn it in -2 temps and stayed warm and dry.

Looks sharp, fits as expected, keeps water and snow out while keeping my son warm. I like the larger hood so that he can comfortably wear a hat underneath. Also a nice length, longer than some others to keep snow out.

Jacket is true to size. Warm, but not too heavy. My grandson is delighted and can't wait to get onto the slopes with it.

Perfect jacket for these Minnesota winters. I purposely ordered up a size so it would fit my 6 year old for a few years. Love the color and the material. Most importantly, it always keeps my kiddo warm.

Size 8 jacket fit large on my 8 year old. He is thin but wears an 8 in most Target clothing for example. Otherwise it was a nice looking coat and not bulcky

Exactly what I ordered, faster than I was promised!

Warm and comfy. LL Bean should make a size for husky kids. My grandson is eight and weighs eighty pounds, just a big kid. The 10/12 fit him fine, but probably won't next year.

This jacket is wonderful it is the second jacket that I bought for my grandson, only because he outgrew the first one!
