I really like it! I got it for my preschooler to take to daycare. He loves carrying it like a toolbox! Great for a small bowl or Tupperware plus milk cup. I wish it was a little wider so it was easier to put a bento box in with other things, but it's doable if it's put in slanted.

Good lunchbox. Bought one for my granddaughter and one for my husband. Only gave it four stars because one of them did not come with the strap. Otherwise a really good bag.

I like the compactness yet roomy size of this light weight lunch box. It holds my lunch and has extra room for cell phone and other essentials.

I bought this lunch box to replace an older LL Bean lunch box that my husband had. While this one is okay, it is by no means as roomy as the old one. The old one had pockets on the side which came in handy, but this one does not. I wish that LL Bean hadn't redesigned the bag, but it will have to do for now.

Made very well but too small. I ordered a new one to replace my husband's old LLBean lunch box (old one was much bigger). I was very disappointed with the size of the new style one , My husband did not like it either.

It's a nice lunch box, I had just hoped it was bigger. I will probably look for a bigger one when I go to the store .

It's a very nice lunch box, both the outside and inside are great and the depth is really good with room for an ice pack. I would like it better if it were just slightly larger. There is plenty of room for a sandwich and fruit, but some of the storage containers do not fit inside the lunch box.

I bought this for my 9 year old son. It's a nice lunchbox. It looked small at first but fits his food and snacks perfectly. Gave it a 4 because it doesn't have a place for water bottle and as a teacher I know that ALL thermos' leak when not upright. The front pocket is also kind of useless. I made the mistake of getting it embroidered- the print is crazy small. Next time I'll get it done at a mall kiosk for less than $10 and it'll be a lot bigger. Shame on LL Bean for charging that much for tiny letters! Overall good product. It would be nice if the website could match the lunchbox with the backpack colors- I had no idea if the blues or reds would match!

Same great quality. Except, if you order black, it's no longer all black as in the picture. Style has changed and the black picture hasn't been updated yet. Switch to the olive color, and that is how the black is now. 1" Grey stripe between the zippers plus all grey strap. Quite a different look from the all black version. Sad to see that no longer available. Please bring back.

Great lunch box. Sturdy carry handle and adjustable shoulder strap. Mesh pocket in lid holds cold pack. Sufficient room for breakfast and lunch. A small water bottle will lay horizontally in the bag. The only negative is the narrow shoulder strap frequently slides off the shoulder when walking with the lunchbox. Recommended improvements would include replacing the zipper front pocket with a mesh pocket. This would allow folks who commute in predawn hours to keep a small flashlight with their lunchbox. Would recommend adding a pad or wider shoulder strap. Would also like an extra inch in length to accommodate a small thermos. Quality product that is holding up well with daily use.

We first had the small LL Bean lunchbox for many years. It served our son well throughout daycare, and prekindergarten, but he really needed something that could accommodate his snacks and a lunch when he reached kindergarten. This has served him well, with one tiny hiccup. The identification tag is put in the worst location, and I'm afraid it's going to make the zipper wear out sooner than we are prepared for. It's right along the edge of the lunch box top and he is constantly battling getting it inside, and away from the zipper. We can't cut it off, because there's no other place to put his name, which the school requires all belongings to have. It really should be moved. I don't know that I would purchase again without this change, because I think this tag is going to seal the fate of his zipper much sooner than we would like.

This is the second version of this lunchbox that we have had - the first took my son through 3+ years, starting at the beginning of middle school. This general shape is great because we put a meal thermos in the top part, and then snacks and sometimes a drink in the other part. I've had a hard time finding a lunchbox that can transport both hot *and* cold at the same time, but we made this model work for that by fashioning an insulated separator (double cardboard covered in heavy-duty foil) that we put in between the top and bottom. Having a great system, we just needed to replace the lunchbox after some wear and tear. Like so many other items, this one has changed for the worse. The lining just doesn't fit the shape of the lunchbox on the bottom, making the lunchbox smaller on the inside than it needs to be. Also the top is a smidge smaller than it used to be and so the thermos now has to be wedged in and wrestled out. A smaller child would never be able to manage this, my teen is annoyed with it but fine.

This was a great lunchbox for my daughter for a couple years. It fit everything she needed including lots of space for a drink in the lid. The mesh in the lid held a good size travel water "sippy" cup. Unfortunately, I had to stop using it because the handle seemed to appear to almost melt while in my cupboard during one summer of not using it! Was very sticky but still have it incase of a lunchbox emergency with her current one.

Cute and sturdy. However, it's small. If you're wanting to put a 2 or 3 compartment tupperware container in this, you're welcome to try. It may fit due to the flexible sides, but you won't be able to get much of anything else in it. Some of the microwaveable meals I have in my freezer won't fit. The smaller ones will. I can get a single compartment tupperware container, a cup of yogurt, single size granola bar, a fiber one cookie and a single can of soda in there. Not sure I can get all of that in there if substituting the microwaveable meal for the tupperware. None of my ice packs fit. You need a small square one. So if you work long hours or require a lot of food, you may reconsider on this one. If your kids need a school lunchbox, it's probably a perfect size. I think it's adorable and will keep it. I will also take my time and find a bigger one. (Old trusty went the way of the dinosaur.)

It is a bit small to fit a lunch. Also when carrying over shoulder the box flips upside down. The name tag keeps getting in the way of the zipper. Lets just say its not LL Beans best product.

Love these linch bags. My kids started with smaller ones and grew into these. Sadly the handle on my older son who is way more careful then my wild child's handle broke. I came online to see if there was a way to repair it. Seems like they aren't made as awesome as past products. I have a 16 year old diaper bag we still use for travel and it looks brand new. Will continue to buy our lunch bags from here. Just wanted to give a warning since it seems to be more common with other comments.

This was my first purchase from L.L. Bean. I expected to have it for a very long time. But the past week, the handle has begun to fray at a rapid rate. Just waiting for it to completely break. Not the L.L. Bean quality I expected when I made the purchase. My last lunchbox lasted for years, and that was an Ozark Trail one. I have owned this since February 2023, and overall it's been a nice lunchbox. The zipper has been problem free, it's easy to care for and clean. Thr tag could use better placement, often times it has to be tucked in so it doesn't interfere with the zipper. I have ordered a Carhartt lunchbox as a replacement to this L.L. Bean one. Hopefully that one will last longer. I expected a more durable product being as it bears the L.L. Bean name. I'm an adult and used for packing my lunch. It wasn't subjected to any rough conditions. Just normal use.

Thought the lunch box was bigger when I got it. A month later, the handle is ripping off of it and will be useless pretty soon.

It's almost perfect, but a little on the short side. It needs to be about one inch taller to fit the ice block and a normal sized Tupperware.
