I had bought two of the lunch boxes for my twin 5 year olds for kindergarten in August. By March, one of the lunch boxes started to show little cuts in the lining. Rarely do my kids use utensils for lunch and if ever utensils are packed, it is only a very dull toddler bamboo fork. It is hard to believe that their lunch containers have cut this lunch box lining. And - it the cuts were only on one of the bags. Upon taking the box back to the local LL Bean store, customer service was unbelievably not friendly and said that the box was obviously cut by someone and would not honor the LL Bean warranty, especially since the problem showed up on one of the bags. To me that would imply that one of the bags was defective, thinner material, and the other was made to spec. I am very disappointed in LL Bean and especially store customer service. Really, the most unfriendly customer service I have ever encountered.

This lunch box was a disappointment for the price. My family found one almost identical for a fraction of the price. This would be best suited for a small child or someone only packing snacks. Going to return.

I have bought several of these lunch boxes and loved them. This last one was a disaster. Within 2 months of purchase the zipper had completely separated from the lunch box. Eventually it just ripped off. I have submitted for a refund. I'll update if the one year return policy actually is followed.

We order new lunch boxes each year. They are extremely durable and my kids actually don't need them but a new one, so we get them. This year's style is much much smaller than previous years. I will be returning them unfortunately due to the size.

I am prepared to just throw this lunch bag away. It is very small and cheaply made. I paid $20 + $6 shipping, thinking that an LLBean product would be of high quality (as I have experienced in the past). It would cost me another $6.50 to return it. I will never do business with this company again!

I have loved using this bag ~daily for nearly six months, *except* that the outside pocket tore within 5-6 weeks. The unfortunate eyesore makes me wish I'd never used that pocket (e.g., for tea-bag type items ... never plasticware or anything with an edge).
IMO the woven-like pocket is a serious design flaw, especially for customers like me used to loving Bean items for up to decades. I think LL Bean should seriously consider changing that element of an otherwise wonderful lunch bag.

Purchased this lunch box online after having the previously designed lunch box for years. This one is all but useless...it's tiny, has very shallow depth and has no exterior pockets. Wish i didn't have it monogrammed or i would have returned it.
