After spending years buying lower quality brands, l've decided I will never buy anything except LL Bean for now on. In the past, my sons coats would rip, have the zipper break, or just not be that warm. He LOVES this coat. It's the warmest jacket he's ever owned and the quality is awesome. He said the inside feels like a blanket. Looks very nice on him too. The color is beautiful. I've found my brand!

I have purchased this coat 4 times over the past several years (3 for my son, 1 for my daughter) and couldn't be happier. We live in Minnesota where outside recess every day is the norm. This coat is easy to zip, warm, fits well and has held up to all the sledding and play time each winter. All are still in fantastic condition and will make excellent hand-me-downs for a friend or family member.

Warm for the cold winters

My son loved this coat as a 2nd and 3rd grader. So we bought the next size up for 4th grade. Warm, soft, washable. Yes, please.

We got this jacket for our 10yo. It's big on him, which we wanted. We wanted him to have this a couple of years. For a kid that's of avg weight and height, it will be big but it is worth it to keep it do to the fact it's a nice jacket and it will last. Our son said it felt warm and it was comfortable for him to wear. We bought it in August, so we can not tell you if it warm enough, it probably is though. His previous jacket was another LL Bean jacket which he had for a couple of years. This jacket will not be his last LL Bean either!!

I bought this coat in a beautiful blue color lined in green for My Grandson. He is 12 and has a mind of his own. There was no hesitation as to whether he liked it or not. He immediately began to wear it everywhere. He loves it. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the workmanship. I would highly recommend to anyone considering buying this coat.

My daughter loves her coat.. and keeps her warm!

I love this jacket. I had my daughter try it on in the store before purchasing because some jackets tend to run small. My daughter is very tall for her age, just turned 4 and the size 4 fits perfectly. There is room to grow, so we could feasible get another year out of this coat. The vibrancy of the color is lovely and is of great quality. Very happy with this purchase.

My son Is difficult to shop for if he doesn't like it he won't wear it. I chose this jacket because of the slim fit because he doesn't like anything bulky. He loves it! I purchased a slightly larger size and the jacket fits very comfortably with a sweatshirt or sweater underneath. He loves it! It is standing up to a very active child without any problems. He loves it! Which means mom is happy!

Great jacket! She loves the soft warm fleece layer inside, especially up in the neck area. Very cute and so far very durable. Keeps her warm in the cold Maine winter.

This coat fits very well and is super warm! I will get two seasons out of this jacket too. It is so soft and warm, my daughter loves wearing it but she's not too hot either. It is perfect for low temperatures to about 45 degrees.

Last year I bought this jacket for my 13 yr old granddaughter and she absolutely loved it. She was toasty warm even when our NH temps went to 0 and below. However, she outgrew it as the sleeves got to short and really needed a new jacket. What did she want this year? The same exact jacket and the same exact color only a size larger. It looks really pretty on her, especially with the matching hat, and if she wears a scarf it dresses it up, but she can also wear it snowmobiling and look sporty.

My kids love these coats - we've owned 6! They are very warm without being bulky. The hood off/on option is always appreciated. And the design is good - slippery fabric in the sleeves mean no bunched up sleeves, and fuzzy fabric in the body means it is cozy. The colors are hit or miss year to year. So if you see something you like, scoop it up! We've worn these through multiple years with multiple kids and they've held up perfectly. We play hard in them, and use them as ski jackets. They wash beautifully, too.

Purchased this for my 6 year old granddaughter. She complained about the arms being too long when she first put it on. But after wearing it for a short while, the sleeves were fine. I got the dark mulberry color and she loves it. The coat is very warm for our Maine winters, and has plenty of room for growth, without looking too large. Very satisfied.

My daughter has had three of these jackets in different sizes. It fits her true to size and is cozy and warm. Some jackets really frustrated her and caused tears but this is soft and flexible. It works well over snow pants too.

Got this in the nick of time. Cold and windy with temps of 16 F. MN winter comes too soon! Always reliable, LL Bean! (Let's just hope the snow pants still fit that I got last year :)

The Down winter jacket for kids is great. Purchased one for an 8 year-old and one for a 12 year-old. Seems like the usual GOOD LL Bean quality! The styling is great and the kids love the jackets. And the LL Bean label is always noticed and approved by others. LL Bean is MY personal style -- it's still the best brand around, after years of being at the top.

My daughter is 7 and is always right on 50% height and 25% weight. This jacket is a bit big on her, but that's by design since we want her to wear it for two years. She loves the colors and the soft insides. She likes that the pockets are also soft warm material. For some reason, she think the removable hood is amazing. She looks cute and it kept her warm enough when we were camping in freezing weather. We're in NC though, so I don't know how it would withstand a colder climate.

My daughter is starting her 2nd winter with this coat. She is 9 years old and I bought it big last year with the intention of her wearing it 2 years. We have had ZERO issues with this coat. It is light weight and soft on the inside. It would be good for a child who has tactile sensitivity. There is no doubt that my daughter will make it though this winter with this coat.

i love this jacket it's not too bulky, it's a great jacket.

We've had the sapphire color for two years and our daughter outgrew it, so I came back to order another one. It has been on multiple ski trips, lots of sledding outings, and plenty of romping around at the park, and we couldn't be more impressed by how well it has held up to repeated washings, too. Warm for winter activities and great color options.

My 11 year old son loves this coat! He says it keeps him warm even in the extremely cold wind and snow here in Michigan. I plan to buy this again for my daughter when she out grows her current LLbean coat.

I purchased this for my son, who is 10, but is tall for his age and has a solid frame. He wears a size 14-16. It fits perfectly, and it's super soft. He loves wearing it. It's warm, and suits him well in both cool and really cold weather.
