My older grandson is only 8 - bought him the medium but had to change it for the large which fits just fine - he is somewhat tall but certainly not huge - all of his other clothes are approx a size 10- no way this fits 14-16 !!. The small for younger brother who is 4 fit just fine - we got the blue and yellow. very warm - love the fleece - washes well. per my daughter.

I am obsessed with this coat - I can't believe I didn't find it til this winter. The S fits my 3.5 year old well with some room to grow. It has kept him warm in 15-degree weather during the cold snap of the past few weeks. I love the sweatshirt cuffs to keep the cold air out. And my son loves that it is light (even though it's super warm) and flexible for climbing and jumping at the park. Love this coat and will be ordering one every winter.

My grandson loves his new parka and specifically asked for another LLBean parka after he outgrew his previous one that has now been passed down to grandson number two!

It's warm, well-made and cute. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a down alternative at a relatively more reasonable price.

My daughter called and said "Mom, if you are going out can you grab a new winter coat'....the SUNDAY before Christmas, we were unable to find a size 4 or a size 5!! My granddaughter is teeny tiny, this coat is a 5/6 and is long on her in the arms and torso but it is well made and VERY warm! I am sure if it was a size 5 it would fit her much better. I am going to say sizing is just right.

I bought this for my son as a Christmas gift because he complained his previous coat was uncomfortable. This is SO soft and warm without being bulky. He loves it!!

Very very warm. It's definitely a peak winter jacket. But it's great because they don't need all the layers when wearing it.

Fit is true to size. So far this coat has gotten him through a college football game at 30 degrees without getting cold. I would say that's a win!
