Excellent Quality BP. Great for my 1st Grader, just the right size and amount of pockets.

Cute and durable. Good fit for both my 3 year old and 5 year old.

Both my son and daughter received one of these backpacks for their first day of preschool. 3 years later my son is taking his to kindergarten. The size is perfect for young children and has all of the features they need.

I bought this for my grandson and he loves it. It seems well constructed and I loved the green color.

I'm a 5'6" adult and this won't fit me. Well with some serious wrastling it will, but that eliminates it from consideration as a handy, smaller pack built tough to LLBean standards and priced like its 2018. Don't hate the messenger, some kid-rated packs WILL fit small and even medium adults. Go for the 24L regular Original School Pack instead. PS - one of the reasons I ordered this was to fit inside a "suitcase"-shaped minimalist flight bag designed for Spirit Airlines under-seat. As an organizer, and possibly also for local use after the flight. So I needed something small. This proved fine in the height deparment, but two wide - when laid inside the flight bag, it pushed the top and bottom panels out of shape, and it can't be squished down to fit (thanks to the otherwise truly great thick foam back panel). And yeah the regular sized Original School Pack is even bigger, I could fit my flight bag inside IT! 2nd PS - LLBean, you have hewed to a minimalist design philosophy in the School Pack line up for years. It was like pulling teeth to get any water bottle pockets at all (now that you have them, I deliberately kept one early design 32L/37L class "monster grade" Deluxe School Pack on hand without pockets, when I want to pass gate-check scrutiny - no bottle slots look trimmer). Similarly, it was like sacrificing various other body parts to get a rear panel that will keep a tablet or laptop from sliding down and under contents where it can get damaged. Yes, the larger Deluxe and Ginormourous Deluxe 37L (not an official designation!) School Packs DO get the unpadded (which is sufficient, in my minimalist concurrence) laptop panelbut would it kill you to add a similar unpadded panel to the Original School Pack? Then I could truly use the Goldilocks-sized Original as my carryon. Right now, unless I stuff the Original to the gills, my laptop won't stay safely positioned, it quickly slides out of safe position against the rear panel. And sewing the bottom in about 1/2 an inch up, instead of right on the bottom seam, would help when setting the bag down (no edge bump - that stiff foam panel you use is TOPS).

This is a great kids backpack. It's light and spacious for my 4 year old. I appreciate that is machine washable. It seems sturdy, but he's only had it a month and it's already frayed a bit where the front pocket scraped something. Hopefully it will still stand up well for many years to come.

Our son loves his first backpack. It's adjustable enough that he can use it now and should be able to grow into it for years to come.

LL Bean has been my go-to for backpacks for years, so it was a no-brainer to pick one up for my son when he started school. The kids' version is the same great quality as the adult one.

My son started prek 4 and even though he doesn't need to carry a ton back and forth like books and such, this smaller bag is mighty! I grew up with the original LLBEAN bag in one size. This bag carried his folder, a small blanket, stuffy, extra clothes, and his water bottle. At the end of the day they get his lunchbox to fit too ( I just don't like squishing stuff). Overall it's a fantastic bag that I know will get a ton of use!
