Customer Reviews New Balance Classics Made in USA 990v6

Bought these because I am on my feet all day as a veterinarian. Sometimes up to 12 hours a day. They are extremely supportive and probably the best shoes I’ve ever owned from a support/comfort standpoint. Took away a few style points because my kids call these my “dad shoes” and my “1900’s shoes.”

I was worried the current version of this shoe wouldn't work for me based on other reviews. However, I would say it feels pretty much the same as my old 990v5 pair. I would agree that the tongue comes up higher, but it doesn't bother me. Relieved that for me this is still a shoe make and model I can rely on for my purposes (light jogging).

If you're hesitant, just go for it. Even if they don't work out, Zappos' return process is hassle-free. The fit is spot on; despite recommendations to size down, I stuck with my usual size and encountered no problems. Highly recommended for comfort and style. I loved my 993s but 990v6 is my new favorite New Balance pair.

Finally broke down and tried these shoes; I've been looking for a replacement for my old reliable New Balance 1123's (also made in America) for a long time and I think these are it. I do have a narrow foot so these worked great for me (size 6.5, B width). I did go down a 1/2 size based on reviews. I have prescription orthotics (not full length) that fit well in the shoes. I'm happy! I don't mind paying a few $$ extra for made in USA quality.

These shoes are close to perfect. I have them in all three colors.

The shoe has been perfect for my needs. I got wide so my orthotics. Metatarsal pad, and toe spreaders would fit. My foot pain has gone away. Thank you!

I am a long wearer of New Balance’s 990 series. Version 6 is the most comfortable version to me. I am able to use my custom inserts with no issue too. I ended up purchasing all three colors! I wish New Balance offered their other special combos in women’s sizing vs. unisex.

I have bought New Balance 993's forever and can't get them from Zappos so decided to try this newer shoe in the 990 series. It is a very good shoe but it just wasn't as comfortable as the 993 for my feet. Will return it and try to get the 993 elsewhere.

NB 990v6 are comfortable - right out of the box! I’ve worn the 990 series for several years. I like the new look.

These 990v6 are perfect! The first pair of black shoes had frays around the collar. Exchanged for another pair. Replacement shoes have no issues. They are comfy out of the box. I am a long time wearer of the 990 series.

The 990v6 fits tts. I’m able to wear a special insole without issue. There was no break in time. I’m a dedicated long time 990 wearer!

I have great luck with New Balance. This pair was ordered as wide and yet it felt more narrow than my previous NB shoes

This is a great shoe. I am having to return as the shoe height is too high for me.
